    Disagree right off the bat, and most designers would as well. Audi designers are phenomenal. The car looks timeless. Look at an Audi from 2003 - they still have very stylish, definitive lines, 20 years on.

      I have no problem with people disagreeing with my assessment of the looks and design, which is why I make a point of saying it's really a matter of opinion.

    Got my 2017 Q7 as a used vehicle from an Audi dealer with over 57K kms. Racking up now at 128K kms :) I am fortunate the only costly repair I spent on was the engine mounts at 116K kms which apparently are notorious to leaking - apparently I got lucky because as per technician, they usually start leaking around 35K-40K kms. So far I do my oil changes between every 7K-10K kms, done brake flush and transmission at 101K kms, rear diff fluid exchange - haven't done the front and centre yet.My only gripes are no spare tire and she chews on tyres - which is expected on a heavy vehicle. Only missing option for my Exclusive edition is Matrix lights & B&O sound system which is no biggie - Bose is good by me. Upgraded to stage 1 tune and she just zooms and will definitely consider stage 2 single pulley in the near future. Sport mode and floor it I hear fast short burbles. I don't like the facelift with the turbocharger setup (Apparently Audi switched to it because it is more effective with the mild hybrid system - I personally prefer the supercharger) and without exhaust tips showing and all the touch screens - Imagine the nightmare when they fail on you and the cost to repair/replace them post warranty. Currently swapped to new All weather tires (endured a flat on my summers and decided to try a different type). I don't recommend all weather because it is not a smooth ride. Have summer/all season set and winter set for the icy road winter

    One slight correction, the Matrix LED headlights were in fact an available option on the pre-facelift, it's just that this car didn't have them! Oh and the pack that includes adaptive cruise is called the Tour Pack.

    Good review! I went from X5 7 seat (small rear seats and no boot), to a brand new Q7 55tfsi with the awful haptic dashboard (hated it) to a 65 plate Q7 td272bhp. It cost me just £28k with 50k miles and its excellent! Still drives like new, I had apple coded in, got the 21” RS wheels dipped & repainted and callipers done in red to contrast the ink blue. Mine had the LED matrix lights and Bose system, both excellent features. The dreaded coolant leak hit me, common issue on 4M cars and i had the valve replaced under extended warranty (£1200 job). The warranty is now expired and the car is running lovely. So comfy and I’m getting 38/40mpg on motorway use, which I do a lot of. For now, it’s valued by dealer at £20k for 69k miles on it and I’m toying with stage 1 map (extra 80 torque and 48bhp) or swap to SQ7 V8 diesel but I don’t need to change it as it runs like new still and costs me little……this dash is so much better than the new one also btw, easier to use and less fiddly. And I;m pleased it doesn;t have the air suspension either - one less thing to go wrong and still so smooth over British roads! Why did i ever buy new cars, feel like i wasted a fortune😢

    Just sold my 2015 (new shape) 200kw Q7 S-line after 5 years of ownership. Has been a brilliant car, wondering why I've sold it to be honest, but just getting nervous owning such a car without a factory warranty. It had 7 years of factory warranty until it finally expired a year ago. Been extremely reliable, a couple of niggles while under warranty but nothing major or ongoing. Mine had the Bose sound and DEFINITELY worth looking for. Also had the tech pack and air suspension to tow my 2-tonne boat. Towed the boat like it wasn't even there. Truly a great car this. 8 years old and I'd swear it drives almost like a new car still. I agree about the dashboard interface on the facelift model. The new touchscreen is not obvious to use, and in fact a near new Q8 that I drove today, the MMI screen had already failed and wasn't working! If I could get the

    I bought a second hand 50tdi Vorsprung a couple of years ago -£30k off the new price and it had done 12k miles
    Really nice interior and an effortless way to transport lots of stuff and / or the family over long distances
    It’s not a fun car to drive but I find it encourages a relaxed style anyway. Best mpg I’ve seen is 51mpg on a motorway trip that was speed restricted for most of the way. With just me in it, it’s between 42-45mpg on most motorway trips. A tiny bit less with the family on board.
    The Vorsprung pack was a must for me and I really like the more luxurious feel and toys like the fancy adaptive headlights and adaptive cruise. HUD is great as welll
    Being able to use buttons and not touch screens was a must and I like how I can hide the pop up screeen, especially at night, and dim the interior lights and ambient lighting, for a relaxing place to drive and the family to snooze

    • @car_babble
      @car_babble  9 місяців тому

      Thanks for the feedback. The Vorsprung would be epic. Out of interest, did it have adaptive cruise and did it work well?

    • @smurf9857
      @smurf9857 9 місяців тому

      Yes, it’s part of the spec and it works well. You can change the following distance and whilst it sometimes get confused by other cars, it’s generally v good at keeping a following distance and flowing with the traffic
      It is quite keen to get back up to speed - it accelerates rather than cruises back up to speed. I don’t think you can alter that.

    I bought one for 7000 bucks. A same year landcruiser is still 30 to 50,000. Its like a new vehicle to drive. Its still in great condition. S line. Only the BUG engine but its a cruiser. I know it will cost me to own. The starter is on its way out. The check engine light is on. The air bags leak down over a few days. Even if I spend 10,000 on it I won't be dissapointed.
