So I added the Billetron to my 21 Beta 200RR. It runs clean, crisp and stronger off the bottom than the stock carb. After tweeking the Power Jet screw a bit leaner the half throttle roll on feels stronger than my stock carb did. Makes for a perfect performing 2 stroke.
I was going back and forth between the Billetron and the Smart Carb. In the end I chose the Smart Carb because of the ability to make adjustments without tools and no vent hoses. I am very interested to see what you think about the Billetron. Great Video!!
Thanks for the quick tear down! Love seeing products in this fashion. I'm also super interested to hear what you guys find comparing the carbs side by side!
@@highlandcycles how much better low end? I have a keihin and mikuni for my 300 and I don't know if I should just get the STIC metering block or not.. Prob should have just gotten a 250. I need more snap.
@@stevetdesigns I haven’t. Never felt the need to make the mikuni better. Always ran great. I have filed Kehin slides in the past. Helped with response a little.
Nice to hear it is a shorter body. My stock carb is 75mm from end to end, and I understand the old Lectron is 88mm, over 1/2" longer, and I don't want to compress the air boot that much. That much boot compression stresses the rubber and even changes the airflow. How long is it? Got a set of calipers? Thanks for the tear down. Least complicated, (in parts), than any carb I have ever seen, including diaphragm types.
I didn't tear my Billetron apart.. but I have no complaints about the quality or the fitment. I held off getting a Lectron HV or SC2 because of the "issues" with the low-end power, fit etc. The Billetron addressed those things so I jumped on one. I haven't "tuned" it in yet but right out of the box it changed the power feel of my TE250. The engine had much more authority right off idle and pulled harder and quicker through mid-range. Getting "on the pipe" to top-end was smoother, most of "the hit" was gone...but none of the power was missing :) For our terrain this power is what I want. The sad part is, not being used to the new found low-end snap on the first ride with the Billertron in I came off a root a little too much into it and was promptly shot off the trail into a tree which I took in the chest and left knee............. So I'm on break while I heal for a few more weeks 😶but I can't wait to get back out to ride more with this new carb.
Hi, dig your info, I've a 2018 300xcw installed a lectron which worked awesome till now, Bike won't start. Fuel leaking through breather lines, Can't figure it out. HELP PLEASE 🙏
Would like to see this mounted on the Juan Deuce Nickel :) Not many small bore bike lectron content that is very worthwhile on youtube. Thanks for the video :)
Hey Morgan im wondering if you could do something like billetron vs keihin, im looking at possibly changing to an aftermarket carb if i can get some performance gains over the keihin for my yz250, there is a lot of info about how billetron is better than 'H series but i cant find anything on how it performs against stock carbs as in one of your other videos you are saying the stock carbs can be more snappy than the lectron off the bottom, i dont really want to lose any of the bottom as im looking at using a works pipe on my bike and want to keep some power down low. your videos are amazing and detailed, thanks
@@highlandcycles awesome i look forward to it, also great to see this lectron carb pulled apart. it actually looks very simple, also thanks for being honest with all your videos and saving me money lol
I have a new tc 65 and put a lectron on it (older one). Seems impossible to get a bog out of it at 8000'. Learning how to properly jet the original now, probably should have done this in the first place.
I don't know. I tried 2 different lectrons to see how they were. I didn't hate them and even won a National race with one (40+ B class) so they work. I just like the snap of a properly tuned Kehin the best.
I still like my 2013 version that I just pulled off my Beta 300 rr before it goes on sale. The choke wrong side thing never bothered me as it wasn't that hard to get to from the stator side. I kinda like the clear float bowl and bought the upgraded aluminum support piece as my original didn't have it. I ditched the non metric screws on top for thumb screws long ago. I guess my biggest gripe was when I bought a new slide so that I could run different needles for different power curves, it just didn't fit my older design. Too big and fat and Lectron said they would need the carb to 6 weeks to refit the new style slide. Who's got six weeks to take off during Enduro race season? That didn't work for me as my stock keihin was kaput with a seized air screw. Anyhoo... Maybe I'll run the new '22 300rr keihin for a while and see if I was missing anything. If I miss the Lectron I'll hopefully get Lectron to fix it like they offered earlier. Hopefully...
I may pick up one of these carbs. But I have to say, I am not really hip with the float bowl O-ring trying to seal on the gasket edge between the 2 body halves. I will bet a bit that the sides of the carb stay dirty from a bit of seepage. I think I would smear a tiny amount of gasket sealer, (that holds up to gasoline, not silicone), over that gasket edge and put the float bowl on, let it cure.
My billetron was defective from new. Float bowl leaked from the bottom aluminum thing, float bowl screws where loose, the slide housing screws were all loose, leaked air and fuel, and now i havent rode all year went to start bike and slide is completely sized up, drained fuel before storage even. Tried ultrasonic cleaning and soaking the slide...still seized. Looks like the metering rod is rusting inside the aluminum piece that protrudes into the float bowl. Oh and the brass fitting for the power jet pulled out of the housing when I removed the line. Now i gotta spend $200+ just to fix a $700 carb I literally have 8 hours on 😢
@@highlandcycles Well, I think that makes my decision. I can jet my PWK, and don't have much variance with air quality like some area's. I plan on riding between 55 deg and 85 def F., only on sunny days with little elevation change. :)

Thanks for the kind words about the channel. I agree on the metering rod carbs. They were designed for road race/drag bikes and while they are OK on a dirt bike if tuned, they just don't seem to work like a well tuned Kehin or even Mikuni for that matter. I am interested in this one because it is the first real update since the 70's from what I can tell. I couldn't agree more about the clear float bowl. I mean if its running there is gas right?? Also the company had gotten too big for their britches in my opinion. They dropped me a as a direct dealer (I was for a couple years) because I didn't order enough and told me I had to order $3500 worth of carbs to get back in. Anyway, I will be fair and honest as we get this thing on and ride it.
