    DESCRIPTION:
    One of the biggest misconceptions about beard grooming products is that beard oil is for your beard...
    Beard oil is actually designed to be applied to the skin, under your beard to moisturize the skin and promote better beard growth from the root up.
    In this video, Spencer shows you how to properly apply beard oil and why it's a must for every beardsman!

      My dad has had a beard since I was born but it's always been more of a goatee. He always shaved his sides and despite not having the genetic for it, I always craved having a long, luscious beard.

    For the beginners, if I gave some pieces of advice, those would be:
    1. make sure your beard is damp;
    2. damp your palms also;
    3. point 1 and 2 are essential, those are game changers; try it and you’ll see
    4. shake the oil bottle thoroughly, in order to help mix all the oils in there together very well;
    5. concentrate the oil as much as you can on your fingers;
    6. wash your hands after applying the oil.. you don’t want to oil anything, but your beard.
    7. After washing your hands, use a brush or a comb for two reasons: to get your beard back in shape and help distribute the oil evenly;

      Great tips for beginners! Keeping the beard damp and palms moist is key. And totally agree, focusing the oil and using a brush or comb afterward helps a lot! Thanks for sharing your expertise! 🙌

    Don’t forget the moustache when applying beard oil. Yes I get that some people find that beard oil and moustache wax don’t mix well together, but if you apply beard oil too the moustache long before you wax it up there should not be a problem when using wax, or you can apply the beard oil at the end of the day so you don’t mix the moustache wax and beard oil.

    less messy for me is use an eye dropper to put oil on brush bristles and then brush oil into beard.

    At 44 years old and having a beard over 20 years I started using oil. As a car guy I thought, hmm same application. So yes you wanna get a good dollop in your palms and make sure your hands are covered in the stuff then get it in there! Just like the man just did, get under the chin, get it into your cheeks(on your face lol) and then maybe put a few drops into your favorite comb(I still use a rat tail) and give it a once-over to get the outer layers since like an engine you just lubed all the inner parts, now you just wanna top it off.
    Bam shiny soft beard.

      Not a bad suggestion man! I may start doing fitness friday posts on our Facebook and if guys like it I can create some videos here! As for straightening...just a little beard butter and let it dry. Fortunately my beard is pretty straight. If you want it straighter though...hit it with oil and butter, then use a blow dryer on low heat just for a bit. Comb up and out...then down and into place while using the dryer and it'll straighten out quite a bit. The butter will condition and hold it. - Spence

      I would use them right away, brother! You might not need to use the beard butter depending on the length but with the beard oil, beard wash, and beard conditioner you're beard will feel soft, clean, and hydrated! Also I would recommend getting a boar's hair brush as this helps exfoliate the skin and helps with beard growth! www.livebearded.com/sample

      @livebearded  Рік тому +1

      yes sir! Rub the oil between your hands, then make sure to start from the buttom so you can really get under the hair to the skin. That upwards motion is helpful to get it down to the skin, then stroke downwards and through the hair to help spread it evenly!

    If you keep a beard short and want to use the oil to prevent that itchy red flakey skin that you get when the hair starts to get about half an inch long (not long enough to be seen through the fingers when rubbing your face), do you need a beard comb or just a beard brush and oil? Is beard oil similar to VO5 hot oil and can you just use that if you are going to use that on your head anyway?

    • @livebearded
      @livebearded  4 роки тому

      You can use those so long as they are formulated for use on your skin. Some olive and coconut oils are too potent for use directly on the beard or skin. Dampening your beard with water won't really do anything worth noting.
