You're a wonderful teacher! You always make it very easy to understand the whys and the hows of a technique no matter how thorough your explanation is. It always makes me confident to try new things. I'm itching to try this right now! :)
Thank you SO much for including the details of ot crossing your yarns and weaving ends. I've been tremendously frustrated with "holes" at my color changes & thinking I was just not able to do more than one color. I am beyond appreciative. No other person on UA-cam includes "start to finish" details like you do. Thank you!!
Thank you for solving the mystery. I didn't know that helix knitting was a thing although that was what I was trying to do. When you got to the 'do not cross your yarns', well, that said it all. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this clear video! I have just re-started a sweater in which I alternate skeins. This is a far better method than I used the first time around. I so appreciate your videos.
Thank you for this new video. I'm a recent subscriber and have so much to explore. Your videos on catching floats have been extremely helpful for my first try at stranded knitting.
I adore that hat! Such gorgeous colors! I’m very new to knitting, and currently only have a few balls of yarn. This evening I was just trying things out, and did the long tail cast on with 2 balls of different colored yarn, because I had messed up before with the regular method.and ran short. The bottom edge looked especially cute, so I decided to see what would happen if I just kept knitting with both colors, alternating the yarn. It’s fun to experiment.
Thank you, Joy; I love experimenting too! You know, I also have a Facebook page (same name) that is filled with supportive knitters at every level, and we love to help new knitters. ❤️
Suzzane. Do you have a video for jogless when doing stranded knitting and carrying the second color along the back while keeping the motifs correctly placed? Ive been knitting for many years (79 yrs old and self taught) and wanting to do some Fair Isle. Starting a sock but didn’t like the jog I was getting at the start of the motif. Enjoy watching your videos!
Tnx Suzanne, your video’s are great! I already learned a lot tnx to them all. What would you recommend for these stripes while knitting flat ? Is it the same principle? Maybe you also have a video on that?
For one row stripes worked flat, there are two ways. One - use circular or double pointed needles. Work 1 row color a. work 1 row color b. Move work to other end of needle and repeat. Continue in this fashion. If you are working on straight needles, you would need 4 balls of yarn. Work 1 row with color a, work one row with color b, with second ball of color a, work one row, with second ball of color b work one row, repeat this process.
@@SuzanneBryan I just purchased both small & large cocoknit markers which I love but I think the small is a bit too small & large a bit to large...the ones you're using look like the Goldilocks of markers😉
Go to a Micheals or other arts and crafts store, or online and look for the little rings used for jewelry making. They come in lots of different sizes and are very inexpensive. You get like 50 for $2.00 or something like that. I use them all the time in my knitting classes. We make our own markers on the last day of class. Happy knitting.
@@SuzanneBryan What a great idea! Thank you! Just picked up my "sticks"..been busy with 3 of my sons' birthdays and Christmas! Merry Christmas & Happy 2019 knitting!!
On the hat about a minute in, did you decrease every row or every other row? If every other row, did you decrease on the while yarn row or the colored yarn row? Did the yarn choice affect your decision when you decrease?
Wonderful camera work! We could see everything! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
Thank you so much. Glad to be of help. Happy knitting.
DNA knitting (helix). :)

Thank you, Leslie, have a good day.
I look for all your videos. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you!!!
Wow, thank you so much for this, Lizabeth! 😊
Thank you! Your video is the first one that showed me how not to have a twist on the backside of the work. I am one happy camper now.
Glad I could help!
Thank you for showing the inside of the fabric.
You are very welcome Karin Schmitt! Happy knitting.
So clear! I just watched 4 of your videos and learned a lot about stripes and weaving in. You are indeed a super teacher--Thank you!
Thank you very much, Linda. Happy Knitting.
Tried a few methods before discovering yours, thanks you so much for your clear simple instructions of the best way, my work looks better now!
Great to hear! 🧶

Wonderful, happy knitting.

That is wonderful. This method is entirely invisible when blending two yarns. Happy knitting.

Excellent. I need to redo those stranded videos, I think I can make better videos, I have learned so much more about creating the videos. Thank you!

Awesome. I never knew you could do a duplicate stitch on the inside. I am learning so much!
Great!
Thank-you for mentioning the first stitch and last stitch in helix....I was puzzled why the first spiral looked wonky.....it makes sense now..Deb
Perfect! Thank you! Happy knitting.
very glad to hear from you.
Thank you. Happy knitting.

This is such a great question. And it is a very deep topic. I am adding this to my video todo list. Thank you.

Do you not slip stitches on the line before changing the colour
Not in Helix knitting.
I love your videos! Would you tell me which stitch markers you are using? Thanks!
That's a good question. I don't remember where I got those. Sorry.
Happy knitting.

Great question. Decrease every other round. You can choose to decrease in either color, the results will be similar. Happy knitting.
👏👏👏
That yarn looks wonderful! Is it Opal Hundertwasser?
Just scrap yarn.
It's a good way to change colors without the ridge ... BUT it is NOT Helix knitting
