"We really don't care." The voice of reason. Thank you. Also some people seem to think that frogging an entire project for one tiny mistake is worthy of praise and that the degree of perfectionism required is something to be proud of. Note to self: Must try Prym needles.
I think it depends. I’d never frog an entire project for one mistake unless I’d changed my mind and didn’t want to finish it - I balk at frogging then restarting! Perfectionism has its place but I don’t think it’s required for every single thing you make.
Thank you Nancy! I’m guilty of obsessing to make my work “perfect,” and it never is. I have a friend who rips and rips and rips and rips, and her work is exquisite, but I am not her. I need to keep I’m my mind to have fun and not sweat the small stuff.
I love your positive attitude about not being so hard on yourself! I tell my knitting students there are NO knitting police! You’re supposed to be having fun not stressing out about things being perfect. Thank you for your encouragement.
Totally agree. Im working on a sweater now and the jogless doesn’t look much better than just not worrying about it. Seams are ok. I am curious how the raglan part of the sweater will work but this is my first sweater so i’ll cross that bridge when I get there. Love your videos.
Another great knitting hack that is simple and WORKS. (I immediately tested it!) Arne, you have a unlimited store of simple solutions. Thanks for sharing. It was great seeing the two of you again this fine day. My Sundays are enhanced by our quality time!
Another great feeling Sunday afternoon! I don't think you two fully understand just how relaxing and calming you are to knitters & crocheters. I absolutely love my Sundays with you guys! Thank you so much.
"Its not a problem" " Look, look!" I was knitting and stopped in my tracks laughing out loud. Thank you so much not only for the laughter but also for the review of PRYM. I was curious about these needles. Now I will relax.....
Guys I so love your relaxed attitude about life and knitting. It is what made me fall in love with knitting. Thanks for this. You answered all my questions about the needles. I had all those problems Arne spoke about. I was always scratching my finger with the needle and poking myself when I pushed my needle with my index finger on my right hand. You guys are so amazing!!! Thanks for another wonderful video! Have a great week! hugs!
Must try those needles. I agree about your views on knitting. Nobody has ever noticed any “imperfections “ in the gifts I’ve given them. They are always so happy and enjoy the items.
This is the best! Was freekin out because i wanna knit stripes with 9 colours, couldn't find a way in all youtube videos, now im just relaxed after watching these, and enjoy knitting again! 👍👍my solution? Think you don't wanna hear: i just knit 3 stitches with 2 strands the end or beginning of the row. Who cares? 😎😘
I so love your down to earth practical approach to knitting. When I knew I wanted to do some colourwork knitting I watched videos and they all go on about dominant yarn and how you have to knit to avoid that, then I watched a video by The Knitting Man who said he doesn't worry about it and neither do Arne & Carlos and so I just do it anyway I can which at the moment is slow and awkward, but I am doing it. I am using Jamieson & Smith yarn with 2.25 needles (only way I can get the hat to pattern to fit my very small head) so it is not the best first project but, hey, I do like a challenge in my knitting! Thank you for making this jogless thing go away for me. Also thanks for the info on Prym needles. They sound like a good idea for old eyes and arthritic hands! 😀❤
I love my Prym needles. They are even better in every way that you explained. Once you try them you will not ever want to knit on anything else and I have A LOT of money invested in Addis. Thanks so much for teaching me to knit ergonomically and now with these amazing needles.
Another reason to love you guys! Thank you for you attitude towards knitting and life. Yes, knitting or any craft should be enjoyable and relaxing. PS: I think Prym will be selling out after the Arne and Carlos endorsement. 👍🏼🧣🧶❤️
I love you two!!!! It’s just knitting!!!! Why do we over complicate things. You two inspire us to knit and love the process. ❤. Worry less and enjoy the process more.
Thanks to your tutorials, at 77, with covid/self-quarantine, I'm learning to knit. And you've given me my new mantra: Relax, enjoy your knitting... it's not the end of the world. Getting ready to make the Twined-Knit Hat.
Brilliant. Great attitude. “We don’t care”. LOVE that. If Arne don’t care, I don’t care! Great information guys. You’re knitting expertise is really inspiring.
Sooo many thanks for your advice, Arne and Carlos. I knit a lot on the round and jogless stripes were an issue for me. You make my Sundays happy. Hugs from Madrid ❤
Thank you for saying you don't care about that tiny flaw ! I switched to Arne's method of knitting after discovering your channel and it has been so much easier on my joints so now I will look for those needles as well. Looking forward to your shop, and thank you for another great video ! Have a wonderful week ,
Haha! Carlos! If I make a garment with stripes or plaids, I always match them when cutting out the fabric! Offset lines drive me nuts! Thank you for helping my sanity!
Outlast an answer that is most comfortable to live with. I appreciate your attitude. Getting to know you is a great gift. I have enjoyed using your yarn but only now far from home in quarantine I have come to meet the inspiration to the beautiful yarn I have been enjoying. Thank you for reminding me that life is about adaptation. Jogs in stripes are a sign of humanity. Thank you very much❤️🙏🏻❤️🌸🍀
ARNE & CARLOS PS I listened to your last quarantine video. You said you were going to take some time off to feel better. I hope you are feeling better and the residue of this COVID-19 virus will gradually and completely disappear from your system. May God bless you and as always many thanks. You are a breath of fresh air and joy❤️😊🌸🍀🌺💚🧶🧶🧶
"We really don't care!" This made me laugh out loud and that is a rare thing for me. Thank you for being real people and sharing that with us! I love this solution. I've seen others where you pick up the stitch on the lower row, but this is closer to my philosophy, make it easy and what works for you. Thank you.
🌹Thank you Arne and Carlos you answered all my questions 😘😘😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗 I knitted my husband a hat that you showed us😉 the how to, I loved it !!!, I always knit him a new hat to go with the colors of the new snowmobile or snowmobile garment😎 I knit or crochet him a hat always. I need to knit my self one🙄 I need a pink one, Arne and Carlitos thank you for everything you teach us⚘ and best of all taking the time to record a video 😘😍🤗🤗🤗🤗☺😉🌷
I have been enjoying your videos for some months now but with this one, you have officially become my heroes, by saying out loud what I have determined about the jogless stripe issue. Liberate yourself from the worry! I have to say, though, that when I sew I do match plaid at the seam whenever possible. Once I even did it (mostly) on a princess seamed dress. I was so proud, but I am sure no one else noticed.
I am a beginner and I had asked how to change different color yarns or if short on yarns how to add. I think you have answered. I will have long ends and sew them in to the piece that I am working. I was making little knots to join yarns. Okay, but when turned to the wrong side it was not as neat as I wanted. Still working on several problems, especially my tension. Thank you again, as before love you guys.
New knitter here! Been learning on my own during COVID and I stumbled across this video while going down another "it must be perfect" you tube rabbit hole, and hearing "We really don't care" was so refreshing. Perfectionism is a curse! Also, thank you for sharing the Prym needles, I'll be looking for those. I've got sore fingertips from very pointy bamboo needles so I'm excited to find better alternatives!
I discovered Lykke needles last year at my LYS, and now I use nothing else. They are made from drift wood. They are a little pricy, about $10 usd, but so so so worth every stinking penny!!!! My tension improved, and the cords are so perfect and I don't have to fight with them, or run an iron over them to straighten them first. Lykke come out of the package absolutely perfect. I also started using the crochet hooks too. Also, I love "we don't care" I LOL'd. I love your approach to that. :)
Arne, I love your sense of humour about the "unboxing" of the knitting needles. Next you'll have to do a "haul" video showing us what you've bought, lol! Great tip about not caring about the jogs.....your easy going approach is very refreshing. Must look for Prym Ergonomics. I bought a set of double pointed Pryms when I was in Norway last year, but have yet to use them.
Briliant to make an fun and entertaining video about how NOT to worry about jogs ;-)) I love it. Never worried about them myself. Enjoy your Pryms. I certainly enjoy them for knitting socks. Bye! JoAn (Wolhalla)
Happy Sunday ( Sunday is always the best with you guys around). I tend to agree with you guys all that matters is you enjoy your knitting. Jog or jogless seems a lot of trouble to go for nothing really. Where was our Freja today just love the girl. You had me smiling today again. So I look forward to seeing you next Sunday, have a great week be good to each other sending you love and best wishes xx
I absolutely love the Prym ergonomic needles. I have about 8 pairs now. I came across them sometime last year by accident but I can’t seem to use anything else but these!! They are truly the best needles I’ve ever knitted with. Everyone must try them at east once 🤗🥰👏🏻🇨🇦
oh finally, others that don't care!! I am totally on the don't care side! but I did enjoy Arne showing the sewing tail trick, ty! and Carlos, brilliant as usual and Arne you make me giggle.
Verily good day out here for a change out seen my mom she is 92 year old lady knitting a fisherman knit sweater for for myself crocheting a Hippo lol and i still miss seen your squares crochet squares lol have a good weekend
What a fantastic attitude toward 'jogless' techniques - these always steal my joy for no benefit. So relieved to hear experts discuss why this is unnecessary!
I’m just amazed to see men interested in knitting and crocheting in modern times (and they’re pros). As far as the perfect alignment of stitches on a seam when knitting stripes, I’m definitely one of those folks who does care about it, and not so much because it’s off by a millimeter, but because it’s noticeable. And if I notice it, then others will notice it. And the “others” who will notice it are most likely clueless about knitting, but will deem the garment defective and uneven.
I completely agree with your philosophy of knitting. As an instructor, I have to frequently tell my students, “it is what it is”. I love your analogy to a sewn garment. Knitting is supposed to be the enjoyable part of your day! Thank you for this tutorial.
Thank you I have been saying this for years and tell anyone I help with knitting or crocheting the same if no one else can find it what does it matter I have 3 books by you two and it's intimidating and I haven't tried making the toys yet but be assured I will make things from them that's why I bought them I am not a new knitter (59 in June of 2019)
I watched two other videos before checking out this one; I wanted to see different techniques. Yours was the best by far....I’m no longer worried about it!
Going to get myself some prym needles, they look good. I have the start of arthritis in my hands and knitting the Norwegian way is less painful. So glad I found your tutorial and so easy to follow. Thanks.
oh, how i wish i'd watched you two 2 days ago, when i started going through all the videos showing the different ways to have jogless stripes! i totally agree with you about knitting being enjoyable and not needing to fuss over this one issue, so i'm going to go grab my yarn and restart my daughter's socks for the millionth time, and not care about the jog. thank you!!
I don’t tell you enough! Love your videos. And NOW....? I must try the Prym Needles! And, after 58 years of knitting.... I don’t care either! It’s something I had to LEARN! Thank you, again!
I first saw this video by Arne and Carlos a couple of years ago, because I thought they would be showing a great technique for knitting jogless stripes. I had watched so many other videos on the same subject that I just knew Arne and Carlos would have the best solution, FINALLY! And guess what - they did. Just tell yourself, "It's not a problem. Don't worry about it." I can't emphasize enough what good advice that is. In my case, all the jogless stripe suggestions had ended up looking more unsightly than the stripes with jogs. So now ... It's not a problem!
I'm working on a pair of socks right now with my new Prym needles, they are fabulous! Thanks for sharing that info. And wonderful advice about jogless stripes - knitting (and other crafts) should bring joy, not stress, to your life :)
Again you saved my Monday morning :-D I sat threre with my houlders up by my ears, ready to learn some fancy way to make jogless stripes. And of course : You really don't care. Why should it be harder than necessary ? LOL I adore your colour designs. These remind me a bit of my youth in the 50s, but they are also so 100% A&C !!! So you gave me the energy to go jogging in the wood with my dogs, - no reason to be jogless ;) Looking forward to see your shop .
I just started watching your channel in Nov 2021 and I just love all of your tips, tricks, and I must say your humorous banter. Thank you for the videos as they are a welcome respite during these hard times (pandemic). I bought 2 of your books in November and have enjoyed those as well. Again, thank you for all that you do.
Imperfections are quite lovable on hand made items, took me a while to accept some just are going to be. So even though I do not knit I will celebrate stripes that do not match, with a cup of coffee 😂 💖
hallelujah!!! Thank you l was freaking out about a hat with the same thing. Oh l fixed it like Arne did. But then l thought why worry the baby won't know or even care. Heh heh. Oh yes" thank you two"for channel it was one of the few joys to get through the freezing winter.
I love your opinion about the jogless stripes and not to worry about it. I have always thought it meant your knitting was not good if you didn't do it and now I'm over it.....if it is good enough for Arne and Carlos then it certainly is good enough! I just bought the Pyrm double pointed needles to use for knitting the Christmas balls in your book that I just bought as well and so glad to hear that you like them as well!
Just when I thought I couldn't love you guys more. I actually got a bit teary. My LYS sells the Prym needles and I bought a set. I knit a swatch and I was pleased. I knit mostly lacy projects, so I will have to see how they work on complicated stitches.
Fantastic! So glad I found your channel Always make me smile!! Thanks for reminding me to not look for perfection & enjoy Loving Norwegian purl & will never go back Still working on holding working yarn w/o wrapping around finger
I'm so glad you really don't care and can live with it. Me too! There are too many things in life to stress about without inventing more. I need to find those Prym needles. Love your videos!
Well as they say - a blind man would be pleased to see the join!
Thank you for watching!
love Arne’s chaotic good energy and Carlos’ lawful neutral energy
Thank you Cara!
"We really don't care." The voice of reason. Thank you. Also some people seem to think that frogging an entire project for one tiny mistake is worthy of praise and that the degree of perfectionism required is something to be proud of.
Note to self: Must try Prym needles.
Thank you for watching!
Nancy Johnston love my prym needles...light and white 😂😂
I think it depends. I’d never frog an entire project for one mistake unless I’d changed my mind and didn’t want to finish it - I balk at frogging then restarting! Perfectionism has its place but I don’t think it’s required for every single thing you make.

Wondering how many more years I'll have to knit before I can take my eyes off my work like Arne. That's astonishing.
Thank you Ade, and you have a few more years of practicing!
I think it took me about 12 years! And I knit almost every day.
@@rebeccabilly7466 after a year, I've got the no-look knitting down, for a few stitches at a time. Still trying to get there with purling!
Thank you for reminding me that it is knitting and being happy should be the rule. Loved it when you said we just don’t care.
Thank you!
Totally agree. Im working on a sweater now and the jogless doesn’t look much better than just not worrying about it. Seams are ok. I am curious how the raglan part of the sweater will work but this is my first sweater so i’ll cross that bridge when I get there. Love your videos.

Perfect solution. Hand made anything should not be perfect. Love you two you make me smile.🙋
Thank you Janika
😊Love the Arne said "but this one not slippery" he can be soo cute. Thank you for this video and common sense approach to knitting.
Thank you for watching Shirley!
Another great feeling Sunday afternoon! I don't think you two fully understand just how relaxing and calming you are to knitters & crocheters. I absolutely love my Sundays with you guys! Thank you so much.

Love this. You both make so much sense. The imperfection is what makes it handcrafted and perfect in its own way xx
I love my Prym needles. They are even better in every way that you explained. Once you try them you will not ever want to knit on anything else and I have A LOT of money invested in Addis. Thanks so much for teaching me to knit ergonomically and now with these amazing needles.
Glad to help!!
Another reason to love you guys! Thank you for you attitude towards knitting and life. Yes, knitting or any craft should be enjoyable and relaxing. PS: I think Prym will be selling out after the Arne and Carlos endorsement. 👍🏼🧣🧶❤️
I know I ordered some Prym needles after the video, so you are right about the sell out!
Thank you, Arne and Carlos!!! Have a great week!!!

Thank you!
Arne is so funny! Love you guys! Thank you for sharing!
I like your spirit around knitting. 💜💝💛

Glad to be able to help!
You both looking great like Arne sweater pattern . I will make one for my g kid. Thank you so much. May God Almighty be with you both.
Phew!!! I love that you "don't care". Now, I don't either. So. I will be knitting more stripes now. This is why you make me happy.
love you two to bits! I adore these needles. And we are not getting older, we are getting better and more fabulous! Thank you...
Yes we are!
So so enjoy tuning into you guys every week.
Thank you for a minnesota knitter who also doesn’t care about jogs! (But I always felt I should care)Now I can be myself, with both of you!
Arohanui from Aotearoa New Zealand. Love you guys, and thanks you for teaching me how to knit Norwegian.
🙋🏻♀️love your sense of humor, Arne. Carlos, thank you for the wonderful information. Love you two!

I have very old needles that I used when I was in high school over 40 years ago. I like pretty needles. I may try different ones in future
Love watching your podcast each Sunday.
Thank you for tuning in!
Briliant to make an fun and entertaining video about how NOT to worry about jogs ;-)) I love it.

Excellent! I’ve been overthinking the entire striping process!

I totally stress about the strips. Thank goodness someone had a level head and says, “we don’t care”. Perfect!
Glad we can help!
May God bless you both 👏👏 👏 just found you two 💞💞💞 It is such a beautiful time in our lives that we can visit other countries like yours 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 🙏🙏🙏

Never stress!
Prim knitting needles I'm looking these up. Thank you for sharing your information.
Lovely colours and the perfect knitted stitches are so gorgeous. Thank you Arne and Carlos xxx
Thank you for your nice comment Annie!
I love your relaxed approach to knitting. I have been wanting to try the Prym needles, and I think I will now give them a try.
Hi Lise. Once you try, I think you will like them. They are so light and comfy to hold and the best bit for me "No kinks in the cord".
Thank you I have been saying this for years and tell anyone I help with knitting or crocheting the same if no one else can find it what does it matter I have 3 books by you two and it's intimidating and I haven't tried making the toys yet but be assured I will make things from them that's why I bought them I am not a new knitter (59 in June of 2019)
Thank you Tonya!
Love such a simple logical solution! I'm not a fan of stripes but am happy to have this information.
Thank you guys. I never lost any sleep over a jog.
That is they way to live your life!
I bought the Prym needles because of your suggestion. I love them! They’re wonderful to knit with.
We are so glad you like them!
I watched two other videos before checking out this one; I wanted to see different techniques. Yours was the best by far....I’m no longer worried about it!
Enjoy!
I really enjoyed this garden tour!
Thank you Mary!
Going to get myself some prym needles, they look good.
I have the start of arthritis in my hands and knitting the Norwegian way is less painful. So glad I found your tutorial and so easy to follow. Thanks.

I don’t tell you enough! Love your videos. And NOW....? I must try the Prym Needles! And, after 58 years of knitting.... I don’t care either! It’s something I had to LEARN! Thank you, again!
Thank you Deb, and we do really like them and hope you like them as much as we do.
Came here to learn how to do jogless stripes for the socks I'm about to knit, and you talked me right out of it. Love you guys!!
😊
I first saw this video by Arne and Carlos a couple of years ago, because I thought they would be showing a great technique for knitting jogless stripes. I had watched so many other videos on the same subject that I just knew Arne and Carlos would have the best solution, FINALLY! And guess what - they did. Just tell yourself, "It's not a problem. Don't worry about it."
I can't emphasize enough what good advice that is. In my case, all the jogless stripe suggestions had ended up looking more unsightly than the stripes with jogs. So now ... It's not a problem!
Now I love you guys even more. Hurray for jogs in strips.
I'm working on a pair of socks right now with my new Prym needles, they are fabulous! Thanks for sharing that info. And wonderful advice about jogless stripes - knitting (and other crafts) should bring joy, not stress, to your life :)
Great, good to be of help! Good luck with your knitting.
Again you saved my Monday morning :-D
I sat threre with my houlders up by my ears, ready to learn some fancy way to make jogless stripes. And of course : You really don't care. Why should it be harder than necessary ? LOL
I adore your colour designs. These remind me a bit of my youth in the 50s, but they are also so 100% A&C !!!
So you gave me the energy to go jogging in the wood with my dogs, - no reason to be jogless ;)
Looking forward to see your shop .
Loved your video today. I think I will try to find those needles.
Hello friends Arne and Carlos! It's very nice to have you back.
We are glad to be here!
Good advice, relax and enjoy your knitting!! Thanks!!
Gracias por este magnífico tip
I just started watching your channel in Nov 2021 and I just love all of your tips, tricks, and I must say your humorous banter. Thank you for the videos as they are a welcome respite during these hard times (pandemic). I bought 2 of your books in November and have enjoyed those as well. Again, thank you for all that you do.
Hi, thank you for watching and welcome to our channel!
I am such a fan of the two of you!
I love your attitude about this
Love it. Got to try these needles. Have a great evening
Thanks so much for the info about Prim needles. They are the best!
Love your tutorials!
Thank you for watching!
Fantastic! So glad I found your channel
Always make me smile!!
Thanks for reminding me to not look for perfection & enjoy
Loving Norwegian purl & will never go back
Still working on holding working yarn w/o wrapping around finger

Thank You for Your tips. Good see You!
I'm so glad you really don't care and can live with it. Me too! There are too many things in life to stress about without inventing more. I need to find those Prym needles. Love your videos!
