Ill be honest, I wasn't really counting on you making it out of this one bud. But like I have said before, it's foolish to ever underestimate you in a Flanker.
@@SoloRenegade when did they do that?! Edit: Oh, that's just the EX promo number. I doubt they would want to ever put that many on even in testing. They'll just use longer range mussiles most likely, unless the mission specifically calls for that many missiles.
That's a really good fight mate, you managed that one well once again! And I'm glad to see that your tactic worked! The Flanker is in my opinion a very good fighter once you understand how to use it, it can be a bit unconventional some times haha
When it does come to DCS, it would be interesting to see how a Gripen E does in a bvr fight, using its swashplate to keep the radar lock while defending
Couple things. Firstly, we don't know how accurate the models used for these are when it comes to flight regimes, because most of that information is still classified. So the programmers can't exactly make planes that fly just like the real ones. It's the weapon systems that are all guess work though. The radar for the f-15e is completely classified so there's not going to be any information for the programmers to know exactly how accurate is or how many things it can track while shooting. The same thing goes for the aim 120 and the aim 9x. Both of those weapon systems are classified as to how they perform so DCS isn't really going to be accurate. Last thing, if you actually look at the F-15E that is being bought by the Air Force, they opted to not use conformal fuel tanks which are on the f-15 in the thumbnail and then presumably in the game. They opted not to use these tanks because it greatly impacts the maneuverability speed,(edit spelling) time to climb, etc. of the aircraft. I mean these are fun to watch. Same reason I watch growling sidewinder. And the DCS matches for world war II aircraft and Korean aircraft and some of the Vietnam era aircraft are spot on depictions of what it would be. But this stuff is just entertainment because there's so much classified information that the developers are guessing on that. These might as well just be aircraft that they're creating from nothing. Because the only thing they have in common with the real aircraft are their general shape and the general layout of their cockpit.
Big tactical mistake from the 15 driver conning there! Also, soon as he put you cold he should’ve been able to suppress you as soon as you recommitted.
The F15 was suppressing him. But in the 3rd recommits, he falls to the passive radar tactics by Longshot. Thats why the F15 doesn't fire any missiles until the merge.
I realized you never use radar target aspect .. if it is far and hot, you can set radar to HI and use expected target range on 100 or more and elevation. that way you will be able to pick up contact on radar much sooner.
I was looking to see if anyone mentioned it. Would be nnc or something on the flanker to get it in HI. I use it all the time, it really makes a difference.

A bit of a thrilling combat LS. In 9:09, maybe that it's not only the AMRAAM that goes pitbull to closely impact behind you. Did you apply chaff that time when you were cold and hearing the missile impact behind you? If so, it's possible that BVR missiles can rarely hit deployed chaffs. Anyways, great gaming. Hopefully, this comment reaches out on you.
DANG it, he spotted your long range infrared shots, Lol SO CLOSE ; you had him from the side! I dont understand though how his radar didn't keep track of you with him so high, and the mountain cover kinda sad here.... Guess it's like you said, he had to scan downwards with the radar... Rooting HARD for you to get someone with a sneaky infrared long range shot from behind that they NEVER see coming It's obvious those long range IRs are a little easy to spoof(not sure how they compare with the other infrared missiles)- so it's going to take being super sneaky and not appearing on a foe's radar to get a kill with them- but you're getting CLOSER, i can feel it! ...it's frankly amazing how good you are at disappearing and getting away from enemy radar so they lose track of you
Wow, that merge was epic. And the kill soon afterwards was even more epic. Even a beast like the F-15 is no match in a quick close range merge for the even more badass beast that is Su-27 Flanker.
@@benn454 Your point still doesn't make sense. If it comes down to pilot skill then the plane really doesn't matter then does it? If that's the case then even a Mig-25 can kill an F-15 or a Flanker with a skilled enough pilot at the controls, right? 😉😉

I'm refuting that, because yeah, a skilled enough pilot can overcome his plane's disadvantages vs a less-skilled pilot. Whether that be in a Flanker, an Eagle, a Foxbat, or whatever plane you want to mention. Growling Sidewinder took out a Raptor with an Aeromacchi, for Christ's sake.
Its all about pilot skill, Sukhoi SU-27 is only a target for F-15, If you reverse the aircrafts the same pilot can destroy Sukhoi SU-27 20 miles away!.
Just one massive problem... The Vanilla SU-27 that you get with FC3 is not able to carry R-77 missiles... Which is highly frustrating as the SU-27 is just no match for an F-15 or F-16 in any BVR fight without the R-77.
Isn't the F-15EX in this video shooting too many missiles all at once? What's the point at the beginning of shooting 4 one after the other with the same parameters? Aren't their individual probabilities of kill too highly correlated for the combined probability of kill to be much better?
My thoughts exactly. Two at once makes sense because it doubles probability at those parameters. But four? Without any change in aspect or heading, etc?
@@BeingFireRetardant It doesn't double the probability, even if we assumed for example that each of the missiles had an e.g. 50% completely uncorrelated PK, two missiles would then have a joint 75% PK. But that's if you assume the missiles' PKs are uncorrelated-that the factors that decide whether the first one succeeds or fails in that specific instance don't apply to the second and make it unlikely to have a different outcome. That's an unrealistic assumption! And that's why I bring up the fact that they're being fired at the same parameters-even if he fires two, the PK may well be very similar to just firing one!
i thought the modernised flanker 27 has upgraded radar hypersonic missiles plus engine upgrade so it can supercruise and weapon load out/v max is higher and theres the electronic countermeasures which are really good

@@asilfan I did say EX ? I have said F-15 if you count the F-15E it would be already a hard stomp, so why count the EX ? F-15 can have been enjoying better BVR and CAS characteristics since 80's while SU-30 with R-77 can't outrange F-16C with aim-120 in Indian-Pakistani borders.
I was wondering does the developer of the Eagle EX modelled the AESA radar? And I also notice that the front intakes don’t really move. Or is it just me?
how do u guys use R-77 for SU. I found couple of guides and they all tell to edit pilons load. BUT!!! There is a problem - I cant find proper folder with this file? Can anyone help?
Why do you give the f15 16 missiles but you put a su27 instead of a su35 that can carry more. 2022 model plane vs 1980 model plane. Edit: Flanker is superior anyways. Even when comparing older models

That is a strange thing to say. At least eight were delivered in Mid-2020. I don't know exactly how many are built so far. The air force got something like 104 ordered. So in other words, F-15EX has the right to exist in DCS way more than the SU-57 Felon, which doesn't exist to equip even one full squadron in the VVS.
@@teemukustila well unless you have information wiki doesn't it's two delivered and they are flight test models. It's not operational. SU57 could arguably be excluded also. There is 20 and it has now served in two wars, so it's not really comparable. The main issue with adding F22 SU57 ect is that the key performance metrics are all unknown.
@Grey Buckleton In case you didn't know, a lot of fighters in DCS are modeled after best guess. Especially all the missles and their performance. So, rsther pointless, me thinks.

He had 16 missiles and still you dodged them to the merge. Great defensive situational awareness, LS. It's truly a skill.

I would love to see a BVR fight from the perspective of the missiles. Where they end up and how they track targets.
They end up either exploding a jet or crashing into the ground.

and that is 6 missiles fewer than the USAF has proven possible. they put 22 missiles on an F-15.

It must have zero maneuverability with all those missile racks. And the EX is already a silo compared to the "not a pound air-to-ground" F-15C.

Flanker isn't superior in any category, its just a pilot skills. If you switch the aircrafts the same pilot can destroy flanker 10 miles away.
