Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the SU27 Flanker trying to decrease the reach of of the foe by taking out the KC135 Tanker.
The Tanker is escorted by 2 F15 Eagle flown by AWadz and Crazyuuu (thanks so much for the help guys).
I got a plan how to do that, will it work?

I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

GPU: Geforce RTX 2080ti

F15 errors. Not being in a combat spread it this is a contested area. KC135 error. Not turning tail and running at max Mach and diving for the deck at first indication of hostile aircraft. This is the actual tanker tactic for that situation.
also would not have aar in a contested battlespace unless its heavily defended with AWACS and air superiority.

I was an aircraft technician on Su-27SM back in 2010 and this jet is awesome, both inside and outside.
Though as we say, this jet is designed to fly, not for repair (everything is very tight under this beautiful "skin").

Fun fact that electro optical system was pioneered by McDonnel Douglas with their F-101B Voodoo Strategic Interceptor. Cold Artic ground and skies made it a perfect method to target Soviet bomber formations coming over the north pole to the continental United States. Their doctrine was to toss a nuclear tipped Genie missile into the formation and use Falcon semi-active radar missiles to take down any stragglers. The optical system can be seen in the same spot as this Flanker, in a center top of the nose position.

That was nailbiting Longshot! I was like are they going to spot him...yes, maybe, no? Russian airplanes with those IRSTs are dangerous if you let them get too close. Need to keep that head on a swivel and spot that IR missile trail. Good show by those Eagle pilots, but I think they should have taken turns doing 360 degree turns scanning low to try to pick up Longshot sneaking up in the weeds! Great video Sir!

I don't speak Russian, but given the context, I believe Svetlana was cautioning him that he was heading towards terrain.
Svetlana has nice terrain....maps 💫
She warns of a collision with the ground and tells you to 'put the jet into climb mode'. In Russian it sounds like 'perevedi v nabor'.
Also she warns of the critical AOA when the jet is about the stall. In Russian it sounds like 'predelny ugol ataki'.
She is very smart and useful girl.
Your videos keep getting better and better. I love the camera angles from the weapons stations, and now integrating unique but believable scenarios. Also, kudos to including the other pilots (Crazyuuu and AWadz) for making this happen. 👍🏼

Nice shooting LS. My ex-wife is a Russian speaker from South Eastern Ukraine. Svetlana is pretty typical 😅 Russian pilots would not be bothered by this 😅
I really enjoyed this one, I would love to see more videos like this. Another cool video would be you and Growling Sidewinder in a similar scenario to this one but you two are in the F-15s and you have more people to fight off while defending the tanker. Thank you LongShot!

That's sound Soviet Tactics there. Very authentic. I could definitely see the Bear of the North doing exactly that if the cold war got hot.
Might have worked twice. But the Eagle of the West would have responded very unkindly.

2 Su-27s for 2 Eagles and a KC-135. Expensive but maybe worth it.

No, not the movie. What the U.S. German multinational flight ops training was called back in the 90's when Hornets flew across the Atlantic to do ACM with Mig 29's from the German Luftwaffe.

I tought you would go for the Eagles first, you had the surprise. Wait for them to break formation, kill the Eagles... The Tanker then would be a sitting duck.
It's always enjoyable to watch the Flankers doing Vietnamese tactics.

It's hard to elaborate a "safe" plan since those 2 flankers were AI only, if we had humans they could just make a diversion and go back to a safe zone

But I am really surprised you used a Fox 1 on the tanker, not one of the long range fox 2's
That's what gave you away to that surviving eagle, that was risky Longshots lol, he could have immediately turned hard, and dumped all his amraams at you fast once you did that and appeared on his RWR
gotta take infrared sneaky shots ... or should I Say..LONGSHOTS
If you had saved the fOx 1's, you might have cleaned them all up without even that RWR notification, only to then disappear into the canyons again , doing that boss canyon flying out of radar and sight of everyone.
So happy we got another stealth sneaking up scenario, on humans too! And in the Flanker, flanking again!

,. ...fighter pilots everywhere better lookout, for a ghost of a flanker ... they'll'll be flying, shooting amraams or even phoenixes, and R37s and 33s.. then suddenly notice their AWACS and tankers are missing , they'lll have no idea what happened, then while looking for them. ... RATATAT, they're dead with cannonfire from behind. ..'OR BOOM they'll get splashed, and if they manage to eject, all they see are missile trails from far away, coming up from the canyons... but nothing's there .....and the RWR saw nothing...

Just a question why would someone carry fox1 and not fox3
I don’t KNOW the answer, but I think it’s because of the bigger warhead against the bigger plane, Fox1s usually have a warhead that’s around 50% bigger.
And on the second one I’m really not that sure, but I think the tanker doesn’t really get noticed that a missile is incoming, but only that it’s getting hard locked. Maybe the tanker pilot could wait with evasive manoeuvres till he gets a launch notification and then he’s fd.
12:31 how come it says 29 on the eagle's RWR? Those are flankers, not fulcrums.
