It really is other people that mess it up for other clients most times! I had a dog washing business out of my house & people would take 1-2 hrs to pick up their dogs like i was a dog sitter, come super late to the appointments, cancel last min ect. I genuinely didn’t want to have a list of Fees and do & donts for my business but i was getting fed up. So i eventually i started making it situational based, if you’re known to not pick up ya dog on time (mind you i had a tracker to let owners know exactly what step i was on like dominos, if you see your dog on “finishing touches” you need to be on your way😂) but i started charging those specific owners so they wouldnt spoil every one else experience. Just started handing out consequences to those who were wildin, clients, customers, ect, they’ll really take it there! Especially if you work from out your home, they really think they can play with you
Good for you for standing up for yourself! You are a groomer not a pup sitter. If they want an all day dog spa day they should tell you that and be willing to pay for it! We used to have couples try to dump their kids in the kids play room of our Antique store and try to walk off to have a romantic meal alone down the street! I'd always catch them and make them take the kids. I'd have to threaten a CPS call and they were always shocked that a store wouldn't provide free babysitting when they hadn't purchase anything!
This exactly. It’s always a few people that ruin it for everyone. I’ve run a few businesses, and people LOVE to buck on cancellation fees. What’s crazy is that cancellation fees wouldn’t even be a thing if disrespectful people didn’t cancel last minute or no call/no show. I used to just allow people to reschedule, but there were too many people who abused it. Like, at that point, it’s too late to fill that slot and you’re costing me money. 🤨 So now, everyone suffers, regardless of the reason you have to cancel last minute. I don’t want to be resentful of you for it, and it shouldn’t matter what happened, my time is worth the same amount regardless. It sucks because most people are decent and will do treat you how they want to be treated.
You are worth your skill and time! Do not feel bad for valuing your work! I’m a finance girl and no one gives men this kind of crap nor do they feel bad for pricing out their time. Get your bag, you have every right to!
Ok $160 is a lot for that, buttttt did they not Discuss the price???? If not at the very least that girl should of payed her something!!! we would've been fighting as soon as she stood up because there's no way. That's giving hella broke energy 😮
Fail to tell the tech you don't like the nails while she's doing them - refuse to let the tech fix the problem - refuse to pay - refuse to cut them off - walk out. THE TECH SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER SHE WAS CALLING THE POLICE, THAT IS THEFT.
Helpful tips - Confirm the price BEFORE they even sit down. Ask if they are happy with the shape, thickness, etc…before proceeding. Have them pay for the nail application work before you do any time consuming designs. Don’t accept cash. If they pay using a debit or credit, they can do a chargeback. Too many chargebacks will flag their account if they are scammers. Deposits/crazy fees/drama can be minimized by setting boundaries and communication.
This is a problem with a lot of artistic jobs, people are just not willing to pay for someone's time and effort. It's just sad honestly, and it's not like these people don't have money, if you really were broke, you'd just do your own nails instead of going to a salon. If you walk into a nail salon you should be prepared to pay, period. . I've never gone to a nail salon because I can't afford it, but when I go to one in the future. I'm paying. If I didn't want to pay, I'd just do it at home. These people need to grow up, nothing in this world is free, someone is paying for them.
Those at home techs are charging you for their time and their skill. They get to decide what to charge. You want something cheaper go elsewhere. Super simple.
I quit going to the salon when my usual service jumped from 55 to 120. But I'll be damned if I'm going to argue with the tech about their prices. That, to me, is like going into a stranger's house and complaining about what toilet paper they have. Have a consult, know the entire price before the tech even picks up the first tool. And if something seems off, instead of arguing, I always say something like "I've never seen someone do it like that" or something non-confrontational. Luckily, in all the years I had my nails done professionally, I only had 1 issue where the tech was grating my fingers like he worked at the olive garden grating cheese. That was also my last nail salon experience. I learned how to do them myself. Lol
No frrrr those nails were so cute and for $55!!! Not to long ago I paid like 120$ for nails like that and same length… since then I just use press ons but I would totally just pay 55$ for nails.
Just grab the clippers. No need to banter. The audacity to play in their face like that is crazy. Are you that cheap or broke that you need to resort to thieving nails sets from small businesses? Be for real. One day they will try this bs with the wrong one. 💅
I have said it before but thank you so much for playing part twos 💜 I dont like how social media impacts my mental health so i try to limit it. Having someone pick out the good stuff and put it in youtube with funny and occasionally thought provoking commentary is fantastic!
Who's paying almost $200 for false nails?😟 I remember when I got my very first set of nails at 18. I got medium length nails with designs and stones on each nail for $25!!! I miss those days 😫
It’s a shame because I remember being a teenager and love getting my nails done. It was affordable and everybody no matter their financial class was able to afford it. It’s sucks how things have changed. On another note nails used to be simpler. Now the “Cardi B” type nails have def had an effect in the boosted nail prices. Longer nails with different shapes and designs cost money.
I can't deal with the embarrassment either!!!! I have always double checked prices for food, beauty whatever I am doing when I go out. I am so weird about it. Even when I put my card back in my purse. I used to work at a gas station and the amount of times people leave stuff is insane to me! People forget things, show up at places without knowing the price or even show up without money. People get it together!
I usually prepay for my nails. My techs tell me their prices and have my card on file. When they say there’s a deposit at booking I pay the whole amount. And I make sure that the card on file has enough to pay extra tip afterwards, or I’ll have cash. I have anxiety and when I go get my nails done I want to be able to relax.
$55 for a frech type with design is awesome!!!! Best pay and rebook a 2nd appointment ASAP!! S😅 I paid $25 with no color, and they ruined my actual nails way back in the late 90's.
That story with the person booking all appointments doesn't sound like a man.. I think the woman did that, women hold grudges and will do strange things for payback.. We tend to go all out for revenge
I bought some press ons and will be doing my own nails, some of these techs have been getting out of hand. I thought I found a reasonable one until I saw that everything was an add-on. $50, but the shape is $5, length is $5, gel is $5, oh you want a design 2 nails is $10, you want gel polish $10 etc. And then have the nerve to be ugly and no one is licensed. I'm done. I'll just do my own nails thanks.
I started the same too. I was getting asked $100 and $20 soak offs. Mind you, the nails I would get soaked off were a previous set from the same girl…and I would always have 3 come off within 4-5 days.
You’re so right Busiswa. It’s ALWAYS the cheap people you gotta watch out for. I buy and sell online. Anyone sending you lowball offers isn’t worth doing business with. They’re always the ones who turn around and try to get the product for free somehow. There’s a lot of scamming going on. Best to just steer clear.
This is one reason why I'm fine painting my own nails with polish I got at a thrift store. I also don't see the appeal in most falsies anyway, and I wouldn't be able to use a keyboard if I had such long ass extensions (I know this from experience, though by growing them out naturally). But also, in the same spirit as the "inform of something's wrong", this doesn't just include designs, this means things like if you're IN PAIN and/or BLEEDING. If a process is making you bleed excessively, you are actually endangering others with germs and bacteria that's coming out of your body! You need to let them know that you are in pain, and/or bleeding so they can take care of the problem before it gets worse! I can't believe how people use "birthdays" as an excuse to justify their "need" for a free session...I wouldn't care if you were the Queen of England or Paris Hilton! You're not gonna get a free session, I'm not gonna bow and kiss your feet in MY place of business where I'M the boss and I make the rules...You're either leaving or paying what I said the price would be prior to the agreement. If I have a discount for birthdays, that's the ONLY discount, and it's never gonna be for free. Even if it were for a holiday like Xmas where people may be "more giving", you still wouldn't get a free session. (also "grrrr" is basically a growling sound - people post it as a form to show anger, irritation, and the like; I also agree that some of these people really lack grammar skills and make it hard to read posts, LOL. At least use what you KNOW from your grammar classes!)
As someone who is about to enroll in school to do nails since i have been an enthusiast for 10 years, this is why I dont do people's nails. I would hate to have a non paying client. Those bottom of the barrel clients need to understand that customizations make nails more expensive. I follow several black nail technicians who literally have binders with price breakdowns. Also if you did a confirmation email and you refuse to pay, that nail technician can legally take you to court and sue you and will end up paying more in legal fees. A word of advife for upcoming nail technicians, either rent a room or do a booth at a salon to protect yourself. Dont ever do nails at your home. It can be a saftety issue.
The audacity! It’s embarrassing how low clients can go just to get a free service. Like babes, no one is forcing you to get the service nor telling you to not speak up if you have concerns during the service. It’s completely disrespectful and rude with the gaslighting and switchroo attitudes, when you can save up for your nail service if you really want to get them done. You’re broke, and it’s showing. Stop manifesting your career as a low level criminal. It’s no one’s fault nor responsibility, but your own.
This is why I always ask my clients while I’m doing designs, I get it confirmed 3 TIMES that they love it so they can’t pull that shit and before I start I ask what their budget is and let them know what they can get.
8:07 this tho …. Be like "what’s funny tho?" The giggles doesn’t make it better. It’s like ppl who put “lol” in texts or messages that are clearly NOT funny
Can we all admit that asking? “is it the same as the info?” Is a crazy question to ask. Unless you go to the exact same nail artist, there is no way you would assume that it could be the exact same. Even if you go to the same stylist, they are human beings not Copiers. And for a different stylus, it would take years of only focussing on that stylus his artwork to get it the exact same.
Do people not ask for total cost PRIOR to sitting down? I’m cheap, and when I’m not cheap I’m poor…..I’m not sitting my behind down without knowing the EXACT amount of the service.
Okay, nail tech here, 19:06 that price, 160 for that length is wild to me, I do all sorts of nail art and charge cheap for my cheap girlies, but 160 is actually fucking insaneeeeee to me
It might be a lot, but she would’ve known the price at the beginning and also, she said at the beginning “thank you, they’re cute” and then decided things were wrong as soon as the price was said.
I never worked in this industry but i have been a server before. People will eat lobster and skip out on their tab. Its not "free" your server ends up having to pay for that. If you are lucky your boss will give you a discount but its your responsibility to make sure people pay. Nothing like working an entire night for free because someone wants to skip out on their meal. Paying for someone elses filet when you cant afford your own dinner 🙄
To be clear, this is 100% illegal in every state. That said, servers don't want to risk sticking up for themselves by reporting this to the state labor board, and I get that.
I totally agree with the "Uhhh... 'Cause I'm bro-o-o-o-ke!" I literally decided *not* to get my nails done because I wasn't sure if I could afford it (average with the salon I prefer is $120). Then, my daughter would have wanted to come, and that means I need to have funds for two sets. If I don't have the funds for it, we don't get it. It's not hard. Press-on's are $15 and I'm not mad if they peel off. Would it be nice to get them done at the salon? Yes, but I'm not going to steal for the luxury.
We have bad "professionals" then bad "clients" it's enough to make me not want to do anything for anybody and see that the real issues in life is that NECESSITIES like Water, Food, Shelter cost Imagainary Value called "Money". We need to stop playing this depressing game.
Listen some of these nail techs do a horrible job and when u try to correct they either give u attitude or they tell u that they know what they’re doing. Im 38 and still have not found a solid nail tech and i have paid them the full amount and tip even after the horrible job they have done….just never returned. What is it with thieves and not running?? When I worked on the pier this woman stole jewelry from one of the shops and she just speed walked away while they yelled at her!
I can’t believe how expensive nails are in the USA, seriously! In the UK you’re looking at £40 - £50 max, and infills at £30. It is ridiculous to me how much USA nail techs charge! It’s just crazy!
Good morning & happy Friday. Any interesting plans for this weekend? Edit: some reenactments aside. If you are a nail tech, making skits that may not have happened, wouldn’t that hurt your business? ( This question is mainly for all the 10+ videos that I ignored because they just seemed incredibly fake)
I'm on a limited income. I have gotten my nails done. Now I do my own nails. It took me a while to properly do my own. These ladies are asking for what they are worth. A job just like anyone else. There is no way I am paying $90 for nails unless for my own wedding or something like that. But I respect that now the new prices are about that much now. The economy goes up everyones prices will go up too. People have families to feed etc. Please understand.
People act like they don’t understand, where you are can dictate the prices. $40 in Wyoming may be $225 in Los Angeles. Every place has different prices.
A true friend would never accept a free product from someone who provides a service that they normally get paid for. A "friends/family discount", sure, but free? Nah girl, I'm a good friend, I'll pay.
Me and mine do things for each other for free. I got a friend that does nails and hair and stuff, I can't tell you how many times I've installed a dishwasher or a ceiling fan in her house or assembled furniture. Freebies should be reciprocal, if you got no skills to offer when they want/need then you shouldn't accept their skills either. Cooperation is ideal even if nobody's keeping score.
This is why a lot of home nail techs do deposits now, as they should. I've seen some crazy designs that are worth that price. That ish takes time, but I wouldn't complain if I already knew the price of getting the full concept design.
I've never went to a nail salon in my whole life. I always did mine at home, but recently I started using press on nails and it changed my life. I don't have the patience to do my nails, so having them only when I need to go out is so practical and easier.
I was a nail tech for over thirty years and did a lot of my friends’ nails and nobody ever tried not to pay. But what a few of them did was, they’d be literally two or more hours late and still expected me to keep the appointment. I felt pressured a couple of times and I caved but then after that I started locking the door after thirty minutes of no-show. People are unbelievable! Only their time is important, nobody else’s. 😡
I have the feeling it's an american thing. Never ever would anybody take a step into a nail salon, getting their nails done and then refuse to pay here. They would call the cops on you so fast. No discussion.
Here’s my thing about the last minute ‘but they’re not what I wanted’ or ‘there’s a problem with this/these here’. They always immediately know what they’re going to complain about. They never take time to actually take a good look at their nails once everything is finished. They’re more focused on the nail techs reaction to what they know they’re about to do. I LOVE when the camera is facing the client for these videos because 9/10 times they might take a quick glance but then spend most of the confrontation staring at the tech dumbfounded like they have no clue what they’re doing. Both behaviors clear as day say to me they noticed it way earlier and chose not to say anything, hoping to use that as their excuse not to pay. The audacity people have to bully service workers is insane to me. Not to mention the tech literally has your information. Why are people not getting blacklisted more?
If you can't afford it you shouldn't be going cuz getting your nails done is a luxury. Not a right and plus I learn how to put on press-ons and they last for 2 to 3 weeks and I keep my nails changed best thing ever
I dont care what the prices are, if you agree to the price and the service is properly performed you need to pay. Its so cringe watching these girls trying to scam free nails from the artists 😢
as an aspiring nail tech: i've been eating these videos up. it makes me scared to go into this industry. but not only for nail techs but hair stylists and/or barbers, estheticians, makeup artists along with permanent makeup artists, and tattoo artists. it's so scary to imagine them running out on you, the cops don't even care half the time or they are trying to jump someone. if you do not agree with the price, that's fine, find someone else. I feel like nail techs should give a quote like 20:00 she should've said "starting out it would be $100 but maximum $160," so that way people know like those being $160 is actually crazy.

So now, everyone suffers, regardless of the reason you have to cancel last minute.
I don't work for free and I don't expect anyone else to do so.
5:55 100% a skit lol
Omg seriously I cannot believe she is falling for all of these. They’re all fake. All these nail artists that post these are staged.
Seems like nail salons need to have bouncers on staff lol
Lol
nahhh the girl at 19:00 is pissing me off. her and her friend went in there knowing she wasn’t going to pay for them
23:07 😮 long French for $50 is a steal! This is why we don’t do deals. It attracts scammer clients that want more for less, it free.
No frrrr those nails were so cute and for $55!!! Not to long ago I paid like 120$ for nails like that and same length… since then I just use press ons but I would totally just pay 55$ for nails.
Thank you for reminding me to moisturize this morning. Your skin is perfect!
I woke up with a giant painful cheek zit and I am manifesting this for myself 😅
@@AbbiZikamanifesting clear skin for you right now ❤
THE THUMBNAIL... 'TRIFLING BROKIES'💀💀💀💀
Just grab the clippers. No need to banter. The audacity to play in their face like that is crazy. Are you that cheap or broke that you need to resort to thieving nails sets from small businesses? Be for real. One day they will try this bs with the wrong one. 💅
The tech is still out the time and products. So crazy. 😮but I'd also report the theft.
I have said it before but thank you so much for playing part twos 💜
I dont like how social media impacts my mental health so i try to limit it. Having someone pick out the good stuff and put it in youtube with funny and occasionally thought provoking commentary is fantastic!
Girl, I got some press on nails too. This video came just in time. These nail tech prices are crazy 😂
Ohhh which did you buy!? I was browsing on Etsy when I found out I have wide nail beds? Another thing to be self conscious about now 😢
@@neoxochitlthat just means your nails have more room for designs!!!
@@neoxochitl That's nothing but more canvas to work with, hon! 😉
Same, i caved and bought like 6 pairs of stiletto press ons for like $48 this morning 😩
Nails are a LUXURY!!! If you can’t AFFORD that LUXURY!!!! DONT GET IT!!!
19:13 this is why you don’t allow extra people at the service! They clearly planned to not pay and could’ve jumped her.
Miss precious was shuffling she wasn’t running 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Who's paying almost $200 for false nails?😟 I remember when I got my very first set of nails at 18. I got medium length nails with designs and stones on each nail for $25!!! I miss those days 😫
I still pay around £30-40 for nails in the Uk. Those prices are outrageous 😅
0:11 girl what was that😭
Jumpscare 👁️ 👄 👁️
Getting played out fast. The fake accents these people put on are being copied by children and lived out at school. Yuk.
@@twilightgardenspresentatio6384huh?
That last set the girl got done for her birthday. She was nice enough to give her a discount, and 55 is MORE than reasonable!
$55 for a frech type with design is awesome!!!! Best pay and rebook a 2nd appointment ASAP!! S😅
I paid $25 with no color, and they ruined my actual nails way back in the late 90's.
That story with the person booking all appointments doesn't sound like a man.. I think the woman did that, women hold grudges and will do strange things for payback.. We tend to go all out for revenge
I suspected it was a competitor
Chile..I got me some press on nails but I splurged on the nail glue. Got me some paint on glue 💅
😂 When you corrected the "a" to "an". You're the first person I've seen in years to do that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤😂.
People are so delusional 😭 since when do you get birthday nails for free?? Girl, this isnt a Starbucks free birthday coffee lmao
$55 for that mani footage towards the end at 23:49 is AMAZING, btw. That set is so pretty. That’s a steal!
Took me a minute to realize the claws London clip wasn’t a skit but a recording of a real thing that happened
I agree 160 is maddd but they literally tell you the price before so that's bullshit for the client to pull still
As someone who is about to enroll in school to do nails since i have been an enthusiast for 10 years, this is why I dont do people's nails.
It’s no one’s fault nor responsibility, but your own.
the audacity to expect free nails just because it's your birthday, esp as a first time client? what.
This is why I always ask my clients while I’m doing designs, I get it confirmed 3 TIMES that they love it so they can’t pull that shit and before I start I ask what their budget is and let them know what they can get.
this is exactly why artists tend to AND SHOULD charge BEFORE the artwork.
8:07 this tho …. Be like "what’s funny tho?" The giggles doesn’t make it better. It’s like ppl who put “lol” in texts or messages that are clearly NOT funny
It truly irritates me
Some of these customers are so ignorant and decietful that they are going to cause harm to themselves or others .
Agreed..her slow ssa doesn't understand what inspiration means 😂
Sorry, what, why do you have to pay?
Ever since I found your channel I have now changed the way I say Embarrassed I love it
We have bad "professionals" then bad "clients" it's enough to make me not want to do anything for anybody and see that the real issues in life is that NECESSITIES like Water, Food, Shelter cost Imagainary Value called "Money".
So its not only the clients some of these nail techs really should not be doing nails
True.. but in now times u can often do research beforehand
@nora2621 Right? Who's out here in 2024 and NOT reading reviews before going somewhere new
Y’all broke
True
Keep doing a great job sis. I love your content ❤❤❤.
Awww you truly didn’t have to. I appreciate your support and kind words ❤️
@BusiswaG You're welcome. 💖💖💖.
What is it with thieves and not running?? When I worked on the pier this woman stole jewelry from one of the shops and she just speed walked away while they yelled at her!
I’m with you I think “it’s my birthday” was a well done skit.
I can’t believe how expensive nails are in the USA, seriously! In the UK you’re looking at £40 - £50 max, and infills at £30. It is ridiculous to me how much USA nail techs charge! It’s just crazy!
21:20 that’s her career and she can’t even spell it correctly , that’s crazy 🤣👀🤭🤷🏼♀️
Putting together some furniture for the first time with my new drill.
Going to see a little fight tonight 💪🏼
We’re going to see Christmas lights with my brother and new dog!🐶
No...lol. Studying and maybe go for a walk. Hope everyone has a great weekend😊
Talk about cooking with Kya, bc people are acting crazy
11:07 it sounds like someone close to her or a competitor trying to block her bag.
Never been this early. Lol. Thanks for all the work you do!! Your effort is very much appreciated! ❤❤
My nail tech is one of my best friends. I wouldn't dare even ask for a discount let alone free. Girls got a business to run
Yo,if you ain't saying nothing during the service it means you happy with the nails 💅. Don't complain afterwards.Take her to small claim court.
21:04 no that is average atleast where i live. The nail salons are like 150-200 just for simple acrylic with stickers.
People act like they don’t understand, where you are can dictate the prices. $40 in Wyoming may be $225 in Los Angeles. Every place has different prices.
Yeah I spent like $120
(Including tip) on nails before(acrylic ombré nails with stones) this was in DC
7:31 busiswa you’re too funny 😂
Btw I love your videos you’re very underrated in my opinion
A true friend would never accept a free product from someone who provides a service that they normally get paid for. A "friends/family discount", sure, but free? Nah girl, I'm a good friend, I'll pay.
Right, at the very least pay for the products your friend used
Me and mine do things for each other for free.
There’s another video that can be made here lol “fake nail salon theft videos need to be stopped” 😂
💯
😂😂😂😂 the up and down stare. I LOVE A shady Busiswa 💕
I dont care what the prices are, if you agree to the price and the service is properly performed you need to pay. Its so cringe watching these girls trying to scam free nails from the artists 😢
I love it when you say 'embarassed' 😂😂
Busiswa, girl, I love how you end your videos in such unhinged ways!!👏👏
"Como se dice?" Si señoritaa, that spanish was crisp. That clip made me laugh
This is why every nail tech should tell the price UPFRONT record them agreeing to it & get half the money upfront
as an aspiring nail tech: i've been eating these videos up. it makes me scared to go into this industry. but not only for nail techs but hair stylists and/or barbers, estheticians, makeup artists along with permanent makeup artists, and tattoo artists. it's so scary to imagine them running out on you, the cops don't even care half the time or they are trying to jump someone. if you do not agree with the price, that's fine, find someone else. I feel like nail techs should give a quote like 20:00 she should've said "starting out it would be $100 but maximum $160," so that way people know like those being $160 is actually crazy.
FIRST, SO EARLY, SO CUTE 🥰
