Stewart County Ballistics like you I love the 7RM, you used some excellent components during your load development. Allow me to make one suggestion instead of using COAL method, try the CBTO method, which is really brings the best out of your hand-loads. Good luck and tight groups.

I don't have any magnum rifles but it's fun to watch you load them .

Good load. I ended up with my whitetail load in 7 mag using the 162 ELDX over 57.0 grains of IMR4451 @ 2825. IMPRESSIVE accuracy. 100 yard high shoulder shot on a doe DRT. A bit more aggressive exit than a smaller caliber but not terrible. Have a blessed day.

    Hi SCB,
I recently started to calculate and record bullet assembled depth past the neck mouth opening to have a feel for case volume. For example for my 9mm Luger loads using Hornady bullets 115 gn, 124 gn FMJ RN, and Speer 124 gn Gold Dot FMJ HP I recorded depths of 0.198, 0.193, and 0.195 respectively. Then I started looking at the Hornady 124 gn XTP FMJ HP and found that the bullet penetration into the neck was 0.265”! Much deeper. So I reduced my first test load, based on my previous 124 gn by 0.2 gn to be safe. I use CFE Pistol powder. I was glad I did, I measured a 10 shot group average velocity of 1,081 fps MV on my LabRadar. The 124 gn Hornady FMJ RN with 5.0 gn of powder had a 9 shot group average of 1,060 fps. May seem minor to some.
So please be careful when using military brass (lower volume) and bullets that have assembled seating depths that reduce case volume below your normal experience.

Have you tried retumbo? Get easily over 3100fps with 160gr
