It is more of a "It is not good for anything else" kinda scenario, they were kinda afraid Ouroboros would be as oppressing as in MVC2 that they over nerfed it.

Ultimate Marvel 3 is a frustrating broken and unforgiving title and yet… I love this game, it’s easily one of my favorite fighting games ever made. The more you play practice and realize your tiniest of mistakes the game is stupidly rewarding. There is NO shortage of creativity and fun here. Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is beautiful, fast has one of the best rosters for a Capcom fighting game in my opinion, and gives you so many tools to work with and experimentation for days that make it not just enjoyable to play but just fun to talk about.

All the games going from street fighter to marvel vs capcom has had either a remake or a release to the new systems but it seems like everyone has forgotten another game that needs a remake BADLY and the game im talking about is called Final Fight Streetwise. One of the most played ps2 games in the past, now forgotten... It was a fun, beat em up game with a story mode and a arcade mode (2 player if wanted) and everytime in the story node when you unlocked a stage you got to play it in the arcade. It was a really great game and now i wonder 1 thing. Where is its remake it so badly needs. Not even a remake, why not just bring it back altogether. Like fatal fury, final fight streetwise is a really fun game and is sadly forgotten bymost of the community... I just wanted to know, how do you feel about this?
I been playing TvC recently and all I could think about is how Vergil just has alot of karas normal which makes me curious of who’s more broken between arcade TvC karas and Vergil
There's another way to fix broken roster balance: Make the entire roster as equally fair but unique as their playstyle can, that way their good player skill will be a key enough to counter the said "roster balance" issue Just look at Dota 2, anime 2d fighting games, Honor of Kings, etc Edit: One more thing, what I mean is this is not the other way around like where one broken kit/ability/interaction is limited to only one or few characters that the rests haven't (like TAC Infinites, broken frames, Phoenix with X Factor, and of course, Vergil himself) Edit 2: If you read this comment this far, specially this video too, remember to go to description and check the video we and Max reacts

Maybe it’s just my search being broken, but I think this is the only reaction video of UMvC3 is broken on YT, and I think kinda makes me sad that I’m not seeing more creators talk about this video. (Granted, I’m assuming other big MvC/FGC-heads haven’t reacted to this yet; maybe they have and either don’t have a vid or I’m just not seeing it. I’m also not a massive MvC/FGC person myself so that could also be why.)
I love UMVC3, honestly when this game came out. I never stop playing it! Even if my friend picks Vergil all the time, I'll always find a way to beat it with a Haggar, Wolverine, or Spider-Man! Glad Marvel vs. Capcom is back! I'm excited for the fighting collection!
Max, you should talk about the need of balance patches and how Capcom always abbandoned all games to focus exclusively on Street Fighter. MVC2 new release should have a balance patch, if the community stays silent, Capcom is not gonna improve anything further since they're all about "it's ok they're gonna buy and play anyway".
X Factor just by itself makes MvC3 such a terrible shitshow of a game that to this day I still can't fathom why people keep defending it, along with other things since this was all during Capcom's worst era in the games industry as well

Many years ago I bought a physical copy of this game at a discounted price. The store employee asked me "Are you sure you want to buy this game". I said yes, and he briefly went over return policies, and if memory serves, he said the game was often refunded. The truth is that the game is average at best. MvC2 is broken too, but the underling gameplay is fun. This game isn't fun. Trying playing it after you play MvC2, or the earlier vs game. It's just not as fluid, intuitive, or engaging. Sentinel in MvC2 is a user friendly top tier. In UMvC3, he's an unwieldy YOLO glass canon.
UMVC3 is the ultimate counterexample for Syndrome's thesis about being super. Everyone is super (except Nemesis) yet it does not make them feel "not super." They're all busted and they feel busted and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Around maybe 2012 watching evo for this game I ended up buying it.....Then returned it due to once getting stuck in a combo you might as well put your controller down because its going to be awhile (Oh I practiced with characters). Then maybe 10 months later bought it again to actually try it once more....Then returned it again due to once again getting bodied. Now to today I bought it because it was on sale and haven't touched it since. Love hate this game
This is why I quit playing UMvC3. I wanted to genuinely get good and build skill but how could a beginner like me even compete with everyone using these broken moves. Was it really wrong to want to win with the team I like playing and prove the Meta wrong? Taking advantage of broken mechanics and trying to get the first rush hit in isn't skill. While we're at it, getting trapped in an infinite combo is as much fun as losing on turn one in magic the gathering before you get your turn in.

Yeah phoenix can die in one combo, but get a hit on her before she burns your team into ashes is the real challenge

Maybe it’s just my search being broken, but I think this is the only reaction video of UMvC3 is broken on YT, and I think kinda makes me sad that I’m not seeing more creators talk about this video.
(Granted, I’m assuming other big MvC/FGC-heads haven’t reacted to this yet; maybe they have and either don’t have a vid or I’m just not seeing it. I’m also not a massive MvC/FGC person myself so that could also be why.)

I love UMVC3, honestly when this game came out. I never stop playing it! Even if my friend picks Vergil all the time, I'll always find a way to beat it with a Haggar, Wolverine, or Spider-Man! Glad Marvel vs. Capcom is back! I'm excited for the fighting collection!
Max, you should talk about the need of balance patches and how Capcom always abbandoned all games to focus exclusively on Street Fighter.
MVC2 new release should have a balance patch, if the community stays silent, Capcom is not gonna improve anything further since they're all about "it's ok they're gonna buy and play anyway".
I remember seeing the absolute soul drain out of Max getting infinite "See ya later!" by Spiderman
X Factor just by itself makes MvC3 such a terrible shitshow of a game that to this day I still can't fathom why people keep defending it, along with other things since this was all during Capcom's worst era in the games industry as well
I always run DZV (Dante, Zero, Vergil) because both Dante and Vergil play like broken up versions of their controls in DMC 3 and Zero is just fun
Never had the chance to go online with UMvC3, can't wait to get my ass beaten in MvC2 for my first time playing.

Lemme just say this, If there was some sort of crossover 2D fighting game where all the characters included were THE Top,Meta, BROKEN characters in their respective games and they could translate THAT respective meta/broken-ness in this hypothetical game

I was never good at this game even though I watched your assist me guides. I literally died less than 20 seconds and I eventually gave up on the game.

Many years ago I bought a physical copy of this game at a discounted price. The store employee asked me "Are you sure you want to buy this game". I said yes, and he briefly went over return policies, and if memory serves, he said the game was often refunded.
The truth is that the game is average at best. MvC2 is broken too, but the underling gameplay is fun. This game isn't fun. Trying playing it after you play MvC2, or the earlier vs game. It's just not as fluid, intuitive, or engaging. Sentinel in MvC2 is a user friendly top tier. In UMvC3, he's an unwieldy YOLO glass canon.
UMVC3 is the ultimate counterexample for Syndrome's thesis about being super. Everyone is super (except Nemesis) yet it does not make them feel "not super." They're all busted and they feel busted and I wouldn't want it any other way.
If so many chars and moves are broken then it makes the game perfectly playable and competitive right? Its balances the game out
Honestly think they needed a long segment for zero. I know Vergil gets a lot of attention (which he should) but I honestly think zero is even more disgusting. Maybe not w level 3 X factor, Vergil takes the cake on that, but man zeros kit is DISGUSTINGLY TOP TIER

He starts by saying "have I not shown you guys this video?" His comments are essentially "yep", "Bionic arm is cheap", and "Vergil is even stronger than modded characters." He concludes with saying that MVCI is 7 years old.

Lol, I love how both Dark Phoenix and Vergil just have sections named after them. Nothing actually specific. Just them as characters conceptually. (Especially funny for a Jean Grey fan like me)
Around maybe 2012 watching evo for this game I ended up buying it.....Then returned it due to once getting stuck in a combo you might as well put your controller down because its going to be awhile (Oh I practiced with characters). Then maybe 10 months later bought it again to actually try it once more....Then returned it again due to once again getting bodied. Now to today I bought it because it was on sale and haven't touched it since. Love hate this game

This is why I quit playing UMvC3. I wanted to genuinely get good and build skill but how could a beginner like me even compete with everyone using these broken moves. Was it really wrong to want to win with the team I like playing and prove the Meta wrong?
Taking advantage of broken mechanics and trying to get the first rush hit in isn't skill. While we're at it, getting trapped in an infinite combo is as much fun as losing on turn one in magic the gathering before you get your turn in.
