Thanks for putting in the effort for quality videos. I’m 2 week in using TC, and my clients love it so far. For those questioning, you can find it for $25 from a local distributor - Amazon is $45 w/free ship when it’s in stock. What’s your dilution? - I’ve been going 1:1 with distilled.
The Technicians Choice looks like a great product even without taking the price into the equation but with that price for the gallon, it’s a winner by a country mile. Wish we could get it in the UK.
Jimbo, I'd say water beading is a hold over from carnuba wax when that's all there was. People used that as a guage of quality, as new products came out they were developed to bead because of consumer demand. Your right you want sheeting, its evacuating of the water off the surface, people need to realize those beads are not all going to roll off especially on horizontal surfaces, and they are possibly going to etch.
Shouldn't etching be an issue only if you are washing and rinsing with hard water? I have never had an issue with etching from rain. If I wash and rinse with hard water then etching is a HUGE issue! In that case I need to wash, rinse and DRY each section by itself to prevent any water spotting.
Good call on sticking with a wet towel. Any "pH neutral" soap has to be very close to ~7pH. Water is ~7pH. So there's no "neutralizing" effect, and adding a soap on top of other chemicals just means more potential for unexpected chemical reactions. Wet Towel 2020.
TC Tec582 can be used with a foam cannon as a diluting method. It obviously won’t foam but it’s a way to dilute it and spray it all over a vehicle and follow up with a drying towel. My shop does that all the time and it works pretty well. We get the 5 gallon jug for a little over $100 so very economical.
I bought a gallon of the Tech after seeing one of your previous videos and I absolutely love it. I use it on my motorcycle and nothing I've used as far as detail sprays hold up as well. I have never thought to dilute it some, I'll have to try it out. Keep up the great videos!

great video, but something you don't account for is the added gloss due to defect-filling properties. I've seen another UA-camr test many different sealants on swirled/hazed paint and capture the results under very bright lighting, and reload was one of the best at adding gloss. under those lighting conditions, you could actually see a very clear, undeniable difference in gloss, color darkening, and defect filling compared to the control (bare) portion and the other tested sealants. not sure how TC would compare in that category, but just pointing it out. it does look like it has the win for price and for durability, though.
Yes another important quantitative and qualitative critical parameter is measuring with a gloss meter the vehicle finish after applying technician's choice ceramic spray detail and the car pro reload; now one could also change things up in the test protocol procedure by also applying both the technician's ceramic spray detail and car pro reload by using the foam block with suede cloth applicator to apply a more consistent uniform consistent coating under constant application pressure using undiluted technician's choice ceramic spray detailer versus car pro reload; one can also add an additional step surface preparation step to the test door panel also as well by using the car pro's essence extreme gloss primer surface prep since it very effectively serves as one of the better blends of key primary nano sized quartz that has high gloss durable reinforcing surface finish resin compounds that is combined with the critical surface preparation fine abrasive grit polishing compound; this would make for a very solid and reliable base foundation layer upon which two cross competing products such as the technician's choice ceramic spray detailer and car pro's reload test product choices; now this would not only be a much tougher challenge test for both product choices being compared but it would allow one to also put down one primary coat and then also add a secondary coating for the technician's choice ceramic spray detailer versus car pro reload also as well; to see how they hold up in that particular endurance riveting challenge scenario indeed; the purpose here of course is to allow each respective product the best possible chance to optimally excel and outperform the other potential competing product choice; while collecting even more critical characterizing cross competing product data parameters under various parameters also as well.
Jimbo, I'm giving TC the win. As far as your paint prep test, I put them up against a quality sealant, Jescar Powerlock +, or what might be interesting is to to see if Adam's Paint prep can remove the Adam's Paint Sealant. Does the family play well together?
How about reviewing the TEC581 Ceramic polish and the TEC580 Ceramic coating. Wondering how they would all work together. Ceramic polish, then ceramic coating, then maintain with ceramic spray.
Jumbo, I have used Menzerna PL on my 2014 car since new. Applying every 8 to 10 months. All I do is was and dry when in between. It holds up very well in the Florida sun. Have you ever tested the polymers against the ceramics? The ceramics look like they require “reloading” more frequently. enjoy your videos.
You compromised both products by diluting them. Should have used full strength for this test. Definitely sold on TC. Finally found a distributor in Canada. Keep up the great work. Subscribed.

I tend to think that the big companies that are well-established I mean most of them that have those huge companies I don’t think their products hold up as well. Is the mama and papa products. I think the small company just starting out has something to prove and they therefore will make a better and more chemical resistant product. Just my opinion
Would love to see videos over time to see how long TC choice holds up over time. The lab tests are ok, but it's better to know under driving conditions how many months you got out of it.
its extremely hard to do that. the reason for test like this is that i can have a controlled way to test across multiple products without having to wait months or year and then attempt to recreate the exact patterns multiple times.

Great stuff! As a stand alone I would opt for Technician's Choice, but f I were to apply a Ceramic coating like CQuartz 3.0 I would choose Reload as a maintenance coat because of the synergy between them.
Yes simply once a month spray four to five sprays each of reload into a medium moistened microfiber cloth to do each specific defined zoned area; hood/front quarter panels areas and door areas and roof area and trunk/rear quarter panel areas; as ones monthly ceramic coating maintenance.

Bead Maker is my favorite, but I'll look up your stuff.
Dust maker.
Tech582 handles the heat better than bead maker.
Ok on ceramic coat?
Ya
I have had detail shop for ten yrs going very strong why Dilute for the price of the Technician choice why not get the full effect at full strength for the customer thanks great video
Dominic dilution can mitigate potential streaking when ceramic spray products are used in direct sunlight or on a hot panel
Wog yes u are rite but if ur a Professional detailer u would or should know not to apply anything in the sun or on a hot vehicle should only be applied in the bay after a fresh wash and clay if needed thanks
Dominic LOL - ok, will do
I did my first ceramic coating today and some areas I didn't wipe off completely well now it's hard and can't take it off haha. Any tips :(?
you have to compound the area
@@genysmenrunner1677 damn foreal? Thanks man! I honestly didn't like doing the ceramic coating.. I liked putting on meguiars fast finish better haha..
haha yeah that is something to check with ceramics, you could have a light when you will remove to see the spots left. Meguiars FF is very fast haha I like to wax my cars too@@daves.3278
@@genysmenrunner1677 gotcha! Nd the only reason im learning too is for potential customers haha so practicing on my cars. Griots poly Wax is a tank too. In Chicago that has lasted me 10 hard months!
David Saucedo the marketing today is for ceramics 🙄 many people like the poly wax I will try it one day
You forgot to wipe the residue off the control section.
Pierriewargen maybe he did it off camera. It did cut into the torture test after all. Unless you meant a part during the test
@@godowarus Im talking about during the test. There is a lot of overspray from spraying and rinsing off. The control section might look a lot more like the test sections in the end if he did (judging by how it looks in the beginning), but we dont know now. My guess is that both sections are pretty much dead right after power clean, and definitely after the last round, but because of the residue on the control section the result look different.
Was just going to comment this too. The control had so much APC residue.
your right I didnt think it was worth showing
where can you find it for 25$?
google and find a local distributor
