He should have taken the deal. Even if he had done nothing good for that specific business, it would have brought him access to a lot more knowledge and network, which would have been worth millions, a few years later, with or without this business. This was a short-sighted decision with no long-term mindset and with that mindset no business has a long life. The company went bust in 2022 and the guy is paying for it.
Touker not being influenced by other Dragons is a huge positive for me. Outside of the ‘Top 4 dragons’ (Peter, Deborah, Duncan and Theo), he’s probably my next favourite dragon

Packaging can't just "easily be changed". The amount of money & work involved in changing branding of a product that is already on the market whether it's online and getting people to still be invested is huge. How much was spent on marketing/branding he said by the other investors? $150k yeah so that's another $150k + just to redo the same thing with new branding. Wake up.
I personally think Deborah just did not like the business from the onset and was picking up on factors that could easily be mitigated later on. He seems very enterprising and will definitely succeed in the long run but these investors need a bit of lessons on investing....

I don't blame him. If he took Touker's offer he'd have lost quite a bit of equity in a market where even the other Dragons weren't convinced they could compete. Touker is just chancing it because the guy was smart and there was a punt he'd make it work.
So he basically preferred to save 15% (Toucker 35- his 20) instead of having Toucker and his experience and contacts. Now he has to grow his business to the point were 15% makes up for Toucker's "loss". I think it would be difficult for him, given what Tej pointed out, and the fact that he is still young and inexperienced. I would have at least tried to negotiate Toucker down to 30 or 33 percent, and eventually settled for 35%.
