Entrepreneurs like this couple could have easily have found outside investors before appearing on the show. That's why we don't see many appearances where the company has a fairly accurate valuation and even a short history of success.

The people who go on the show asking for 6 figures for 2-10% and don't even have a working prototype always make me wonder if they're always so delusional. Do they not have any friends or family members willing to enlighten them? More importantly, do they not bother to watch a few episodes before their appearance??
That was master salesmanship by reflecting away from the target dragon, getting Peter to agree on the terms and then cherry picking the correct dragon for the business. There was a lot of thought put into this pitch and seriously enjoyable watching the roles being reversed.

This episode is absolutely brilliant! Two great people. A great product. Very well presented. Each dragon took the time to ask respectful questions...and they got respectful sensible answers. The numbers started flying...the game got underway...moves were made (sometimes in the shadows)...and the finale was a shocker to everyone!
This is a great programme! I´d be happy to be in business with any of the panelists. They´re so much more credible than any of their equivalents on other versions of this programme in other countries.

I think it's a bit random. If you get investors, the valuation rises independent from sales and profit. people struggle with this, we're not alone. If you watch other pitches quite often the one thing that bothers the dragons is often a too high valuation by the business owners...
Its not often Peter loses a bid war...... Usually he has 5-10% above the other offers and they still scoop him. Youl could tell he was NOT happy and shocked lol
