- The plaintiff claims that he and the defendants’ daughter were very close, and that the defendants weren’t happy about their relationship. He claims they made up stories about him and even tried to get a restraining order against him to prevent him from seeing their daughter. He is suing for time, hotel, and travel expenses he paid to clear his name in court for the restraining order. The defendants claim the plaintiff was brainwashing their daughter. The plaintiff is 23 years old and the defendants’ daughter is a minor, and as a result they believe they owe him nothing. The defendants are countersuing for money spent searching for their daughter.

As a victim of sexual assault and molestation, the plantiffs make my stomach hurt. If you've ever been in that situation, you know the feeling. They were grooming that young girl and they had every intention of either sleeping with her (if he hasn't already) or selling her out. I'm disgusted. I could throw up.

Blind people can mentor students, the only thing they lack is sight, but they can still listen and guide the student through the obstacles of school, so you're a bit ableist with your comment there, 2. The girl was going to a school for the blind and deaf, so it makes an extra amount of sense that they would have a blind person mentor other blind people, because they can sympathize and understand the students lives better than a person with sight and/or hearing.
I was 15 and a 21 year old groomed me... my mom found him in the closet & my dad ran to get that MAN. The guy jumped out the window. My mom always victim blamed me, but my dad understood. This has been happening way before she was 16. So when he graduated at 18 she was 13. 100% against the law.
He was grooming her!!! He found a girl with emotional problems and preyed on her. I've seen it in my time in school and thank goodness I didn't fall for it.And his nasty friend is just disgusting! I believe the judge was onto something when she asked the plaintiff if he and their daughter were dating.
It's the only thing that makes sense when you factor in the behavior of both the plaintiff and the father.

The plaintiff is a sexual predator with a 44 year old fellow sexual predator friend. He’s using his disability as a shield but it’s not. In our society we are soooo overly sensitive to certain things that we allow predators to hide behind whatever hard luck story they have. He’s 23? She’s 16. Very unacceptable. Just listen to that recording and you get a sense of the kinda guy he is. I hope things worked out well for the parents after all this.

I was from an affluent, loving, strict Christian home, & I ran away multiple times bc I was just plain bratty & defiant. Yes, there was an older boy involved🙄 I was shipped off to boarding school, which actually saved me from going down a very bad path. Saved my life, really. I fell in with the wrong crowd. That was in the 80’s before internet & iPhones. Being a parent these days is FAR more scary.

Oh the judge went in on the plaintiff like a mother lioness as if that was her own daughter. Every parent's nightmare just came right before her eyes and she wanted to rip him apart. I hope that girl is better now- it may seem like they're our enemies when we're teenagers, but parents are the last line of defence we have against the world

I live in a surbaban neighbourhood in Canada and my neighbourhood seems pretty ghetto for the suburbs. It's mostly the ppl that make it that way. There are break-ins, robberies, mental ppl, etc. in my neighbourhood. In fact, it's much worse. The cops are always here plus the adults in my neighborhood fight a lot. TL;DR my neighbourhood is messed up.

I have a feeling they were grooming that girl, and if the police hadn't found them in Daytona I think she was going to be trafficked. He was 'legally blind' but notice at the end after the interview he walks out and turns the corner with no difficulty whatsoever? A place unfamiliar to him and he navigated it perfectly. The plaintiff and the 44 year old gave me the creeps, I have a feeling these two are of an evil that belongs in a Tarrantino film.

I'm glad the parents stepped in when they did. Most of time in these situations the parents aren't actively checking the kids social media/phones until it's too late. As a parent I don’t think I would have been so calm standing in the same room as the person that’s grooming my child.
This case gives me anxiety and makes my stomach hurt. I have a daughter, and I pray that she doesn’t ever encounter predators like this and my husband and I have to go through what these parents went through in trying to protect their child. I really hope the cops keep a close eye on those two men, because they are without a doubt predators. I don’t give a rat’s ass if it’s legal in Florida for a 16 year old and a 21 year old to be in a relationship; dude groomed her, plain and simple. I’m so glad the judge went off on him.
