Plenty of people who work woth kods ate absolute dirtbags. That's why they chose their fields like CPS, social work, teaching, coach, child therapist, even (especially) foster parents, etc
I do find that many therapists are actually freak lol, but I do feel that the plaintiffs are terrible parents as well, they just don't know how to parent their kids
Most of them are. All they do is go along with the youths ideas even when they know they are wrong most of the time and the youths love them for it so nobody (ecept the judge here) actually gets to see how bad they really are at their jobs.
The 14 year old is also grooming her boyfriend to murder her mother. This is insane. She’s gearing him up to commit that crime. I feel so emotional watching this. I am furious at the guys father! That man is a wicked sick monster. They also need a restraining order placed against them.

But all just a guess on my part.

Judge stepped up to the plate and really took the case seriously. She wanted the defendants to really understand what they did. I couldn't believe those text messages! It seems that the parents really care for their daughter.

It is possible for the dad not to know. My dad rarely came to my room or siblings and I could have harboured someone for months and he wouldn't know. My mum on the other hand was like a sniffer dog. She was constantly in our rooms and including every room or cupboard in the house.

I pray for the mental and physical health of the mom and dad of this young lady. I understand that teens are sometimes awful to their parents but those texts were so scary. This girl is talking about killing her mother. When there is a fire in your home, do you stay in the home. When there is a car speeding your way, do you get out of the way? This girl is a burning car about to run her mother over. Her mother shiuld get out of her way, and let her crash and burn, because if not her daughter may kill her.
I won’t give up on my child if that happens but I would also lock her up in a behavior center to get her actual help. When I see text messages wishing they would kill me. I would be scared and I’m locking her up, so she won’t hurt her dad or me, or herself.

@@alexisrene5854 because it says her name and shows her Facebook account and it's the same exact first and last name that they said their daughter had in the show... but not only that, I went on her Facebook and she's friends with her family on there lol. So I found her mom and dad on there (the ones that were the plantiffs). And there's photos of her on the moms Facebook. So it's obviously her.

The dad 100% facilitated everything and then begged his wife into taking the fall so he wouldn't lose his job. I'd almost put money down that he saw nothing wrong with the relationship between his son and the plaintiffs' daughter, because he has the same sorts of gross dealings with his clients.
I also think the wife is mentally and physically abused. He made his wife take the fall for everything. I think the father was the one hiding the girl the whole time. And the daughter will eventually be their next victim.

Exactly because I thought the same thing when she started crying at the end. It’s weird how the father (defendant) acted as though he was 100% against it in the beginning, but as the case went on he’s 100% for the girl coming over anytime she wants because it’s legal.

My heart sank when the judge read those text messages from the 14 year old daughter to her boyfriend about wanting to torture and kill her mom. I understand that teenagers go through this rebellious stage in their lives but never to a point of wanting to murder their parents who cares so much for them. my heart goes out to the parents of the 14 year old girl in this case.
Maybe her mom is abusive and controlling and says things to harm her emotional well-being. Theres not a problem thinking like this only a problem to acting on it. Abuse exist.

As someone who spent five years in the Missing Children’s Division at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, these defendants make my blood boil. They should have been charged with so much more than a single count of obstruction (and I wouldn’t be opposed to someone wiping that smug grin from the male defendant’s face. Hard.) I’ve heard the desperation in parents’ voices while their child is missing. They don’t sleep, they don’t eat, they barely function as they inevitably think up all the horrific things that might be happening to that child. I’ve also had cases that included those horrors, and ones who never made it home. That anyone would put someone else through that trauma is honestly one of the most appalling things I’ve ever seen - and I saw a lot working for NCMEC. They are disgusting human beings, and brava to Judge Milian for taking them to task.
And he's SMILING and LAUGHING throughout! 🤮 His wife ADMITTED in the exit interview that it was HER HUSBAND that let the girl into their house! I HOPE she says it in criminal court. The judge allegedly said the girl could still visit the bf, but he didn't order it. And it's weird that dad didn't say, hell no! After all this, you're not coming around anymore!

Yes and they know that his son probably is a psychopath. I saw a series with a similar situation and it resulted that it was the guy that was grooming the girl and was a psychopath. He ended up killing her and his mom spotted and covered up until she suicided.
At least one of those parents knew the girl was in the house because someone had to be feeding her, she was likely taking a shower, etc. and go try hiding in a storage room for an hour or two and see if you can actually "hide" there for very long. It's almost impossible to do so without making some kind of noise.

As soon as he said he didn't want to lose his job for this, I already had a feeling he was putting the blame on his wife, especially when he basically insulted her with her heart being bigger than her brain. It clearly shows he feels superior to her and that she's submissive to him. When at the end she said her husband was the one who did it, I wasn't surprised. She got spooked when they said she could go to prison for this. If he laughed in court for harboring a missing child in his home and actually smiled when the judge read those text messages, it's not that hard to see what's going on. She's even the one who had to tell him to stop laughing, but he didn't, which says a lot about who he is. She clearly knew, but he most likely told her not to say anything to the police. It's still her fault for not telling the police, but it's strange that first she said she didn't know because she had work, but then went along with it when her husband blamed her, then backtracked at the mention of going to prison. It's a huge mess and a big divorce. I'm not one bit surprised he tried to throw her under the bus to save his own ass. Also, I'm not surprised the daughter lied to the woman about "abuse" when those horrendous text messages about her own mother exist.

I’m shocked this is a small claims case. This is clearly negligent infliction of emotional distress at the very least. This should be a 6 figure judgement in a civil case. Also, 14 year olds shouldn’t be having boyfriends. 🤬

There is nothing I can do while my daughter is at her mother's which sucks. I have rules and certain things I don't allow under my roof. My Ex lets my 15-year-old daughter's boyfriend sleep over in the same bed. Goes to school when she wants. Does what she wants when she wants. How do I compete with that? I have curfews, must go to school, no sleepovers with boyfriends and I want to know where she goes and when she is coming home. Another messed up thing is my ex is the one that physically abused our daughter when she was younger and smaller. I've never raised a hand to her, I've only raised my voice to her 2 times in her life, I have never said anything emotionally abusive to her but I'm the bad guy.

When I first saw the comments I was amazed at how many people were saying the father knew, but as I watched more, it became more and more alarming how cruel he is. There are several tells. Trying to focus more on him not wanting to lose his job vs. the parents pain of thinking the worst happened to their daughter. Easily tossing his wife under the bus and easily saying his wife has more heart than brain and her not even flinching from that. Him continuing to allow the daughter into his house knowing full well as a "counselor" that action would continue to cause a rift. Him then trying to say he's not going to go against a judges order when he knows damn well the judge didn't order the daughter into his house, the judge just said it wasn't illegal for her to visit. And most alarmingly, he was smiling as Judge M read those atrocious texts between the daughter and his son and he ONLY looked worried or contrite when she focused on him. I GENUINELY hope he lost his job and can't find employment dealing with children and kids.
Exactly! Why would he want her in his house with all the drama that was caused and just knowing his wife can go to jail following this incident. If he didn’t know and he was so angry with his son he would have grounded him for life. He can’t have any company come over especially this girl. Only reason he would have to keep allowing her into the house is to be cruel.

Family friend had same problem..she'd drop her daughter off at school..and the boyfriend "groomer" would be waiting around the corner to pick her up. Resolution: sent her kid to Pineywood School for Country Life in Mississippi...problem solved.
I’ve been binge watching people’s court and judge Mathis for weeks now. Being a father of a girl and 2 boys. Judge milian’s passion for this case actually brought me to tears. I love this lady.
I don't even have kids, and I got emotional too. I can imagine the difficulty in trying to raise a child right with so many negative influences, along with the duress of not knowing where your child is for 6 days, all because of the malicious negligence of the defendants.
She has teens herself, so the mom in Judge Milian came out in this case too.

THIS. My mother just berated me instead, even though it was inherited from her. Now I have my own 16 year old daughter who has been showing signs of mental illness for a year or no now. I refuse to be like my mother though.
Also used to be one of those kids. 14 is a pretty fucked up age for kids with mental illness, I think. It really is an age where you truly begin to believe you know everything, including the consequences of your actions - but it's so much more serious than these kids could ever realize. I can only hope they can get both of them (or I guess at least the daughter now, seeing as the son is likely aged out) into some kind of program to help them get back on track. That was what I needed, desperately, and I will always be grateful for the adults who helped me during that time.
When I was 18 I lived on my own and my 16 year old girlfriend got in a fight with her parents ran away from home. She came to my house telling me what she had done. She said she was going to move in and she didn't want her parents to know where she was. I knew her parents would be besides themselves with worry so I went behind her back and called her mom and told her where she was and that I would be respectful and try and convince her to go home. My girlfriend got mad at me for pushing her to go home but she finally did. Unfortunately her parents let it slip that I had ratted her out. She broke up with me. I really loved her but I still to this day, and especially now as a parent, think I did the right thing. A 14 year old girl has more drama with her parents for no reason than you can believe is possible. These neighbors need to get out of the way.
The boyfriend was even being quite manipulated by her. The 14 year-old was actually trying to get him to kill her mom. Those text messages in a row were frightening, and the husband was actually smiling and then realized someone could notice, so he stopped.

Agreed! It happens more than people realize, majority of the cases aren't brought to the public, but are featured in adds or 1 short news segment. Children and teens are not that innocent anymore, we have to keep our heads on a swivel even with our loved ones sad to say.

I went through a similar situation, and it was very difficult because when my daughter ran away, she crossed the state lines. So I had to get two states to cooperate and work together. I went through 37 false abuse claims in 26 months. All came back unfounded. It was excruciating. I never gave up, though. My daughter is now an adult, and getting ready to become a mom herself. She’s being induced in 2 days and our relationship is amazing. We are so close and she has grown into a remarkable young woman. Don’t give up mama!!! I promise this will all be worth it one day.
@@rachelw6237 As a stepparent in my stepkid's life since they were 2 & 4, I say yes. My stepchildren are 30 & 32. We have a very loving relationship although I divorced their dad in 2009. Their children call me grandma. But I would have fought tooth & nail if the circumstances needed it.

Youre a better person than i could be. If someone falsely accuses me of anything, let alone that sort of thing, theyre out. Even as an angry teen when i was hormonal etc, id never have thought to disrespect my folks with false allegations of that nature.
I've seen this specific case about a dozen times but I watch each time because the parents DESERVED to be yelled at like that for being such horrible people. That girl is clearly struggling and they keep allowing the drama and trouble.
You would THINK, as a mother herself, she would have AT LEAST had the decency to call the girl's Mom and say "Your daughter is with me in our home. She is safe. You can come pick her up if you want to, or she is welcome to stay her for a day or two until she calms down. Same. My old school Italian grandmother raised me. I was allowed at my best friends house only and she always called to talk to her mom. I always got mad at her because she was so strict. Now that I'm older, I appreciate her for it. So many bad things happen to people. These young kids have to realize their parents are trying to keep them safe. Yeah little does he know that she's basically a genius who graduated college early with honors, but who went on to work at Harvard Law, and then after that as an assistant State Attorney in Florida, and then ultimately landing herself the position of Circuit Court Judge in Miami County.... all at a young age. Younger than most. So she IS a real judge. In fact, her particular brand of spiciness, humor and intelligence is what made her stand out amongst other judges and what got her the offer to replace Judge Judy's husband, Judge Jerry Sheindlin on the People's Court. Wow! What a case. My 13 year old son ran away once without a coat in the winter. We called everyone. He was gone 3 nights. My Mother did not want me to call the police. I finally figured out why. He was at my brother’s house.
@Luna I'm not sure what you think you heard, she said EXACTLY what he said repeatedly to the judge (what him and the judge were actually arguing about), that is, he still allows the daughter to come to his home whenever she wants. You clearly missed something.
The phone (text) conversation makes no sense then. Remember, the phone conversation took place BEFORE the girl was found. In fact, it was that conversation that got the girl discovered. So, it makes no sense for you to even think that he knew.
She let her in and hid her the first time, now the husband is letting her come over whenever because "it's legal". It's probably an underhanded way to get his wife a bigger sentence during her trial to get back at her (and probably make the divorce proceedings easier on his end).
i totally disagree with the verdict , both the plaintiffs and the defendants are not totally credible , the judge should have not awarded the plaintiffs for messing up their own daughter to the point that their own daughter hates her mother , there is most likely alot that the plaintiffs are not revealing about things that they let happen to their daughter when she was a child .
Here's what I think.......the son's father knew she was there the whole time. You can look at his wife and tell she's timid as hell. I think the husband and the son have control of the house. My opinion is that he told her to "just say I didn't know". Just what I think, so don't come after me.

I'm 100% convinced that the defendant (wife) is taking the fall for her husband's TERRIBLE BEHAVIOR AND ACTIONS. That man is absolutely a danger to not only his wife, his son, his son's girlfriend, and the girlfriend's parents, but also the PUBLIC. I wouldn't be surprised if he is also mistreating/abusing his wife.
Exactly because I thought the same thing when she started crying at the end. It’s weird how the father (defendant) acted as though he was 100% against it in the beginning, but as the case went on he’s 100% for the girl coming over anytime she wants because it’s legal.

My heart sank when the judge read those text messages from the 14 year old daughter to her boyfriend about wanting to torture and kill her mom.
I understand that teenagers go through this rebellious stage in their lives but never to a point of wanting to murder their parents who cares so much for them.

As someone who spent five years in the Missing Children’s Division at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, these defendants make my blood boil. They should have been charged with so much more than a single count of obstruction (and I wouldn’t be opposed to someone wiping that smug grin from the male defendant’s face. Hard.) I’ve heard the desperation in parents’ voices while their child is missing. They don’t sleep, they don’t eat, they barely function as they inevitably think up all the horrific things that might be happening to that child. I’ve also had cases that included those horrors, and ones who never made it home. That anyone would put someone else through that trauma is honestly one of the most appalling things I’ve ever seen - and I saw a lot working for NCMEC. They are disgusting human beings, and brava to Judge Milian for taking them to task.

As soon as he said he didn't want to lose his job for this, I already had a feeling he was putting the blame on his wife, especially when he basically insulted her with her heart being bigger than her brain. It clearly shows he feels superior to her and that she's submissive to him.
When at the end she said her husband was the one who did it, I wasn't surprised. She got spooked when they said she could go to prison for this. If he laughed in court for harboring a missing child in his home and actually smiled when the judge read those text messages, it's not that hard to see what's going on. She's even the one who had to tell him to stop laughing, but he didn't, which says a lot about who he is.
She clearly knew, but he most likely told her not to say anything to the police. It's still her fault for not telling the police, but it's strange that first she said she didn't know because she had work, but then went along with it when her husband blamed her, then backtracked at the mention of going to prison. It's a huge mess and a big divorce. I'm not one bit surprised he tried to throw her under the bus to save his own ass.

When I first saw the comments I was amazed at how many people were saying the father knew, but as I watched more, it became more and more alarming how cruel he is. There are several tells. Trying to focus more on him not wanting to lose his job vs. the parents pain of thinking the worst happened to their daughter. Easily tossing his wife under the bus and easily saying his wife has more heart than brain and her not even flinching from that. Him continuing to allow the daughter into his house knowing full well as a "counselor" that action would continue to cause a rift. Him then trying to say he's not going to go against a judges order when he knows damn well the judge didn't order the daughter into his house, the judge just said it wasn't illegal for her to visit. And most alarmingly, he was smiling as Judge M read those atrocious texts between the daughter and his son and he ONLY looked worried or contrite when she focused on him. I GENUINELY hope he lost his job and can't find employment dealing with children and kids.

THIS. My mother just berated me instead, even though it was inherited from her. Now I have my own 16 year old daughter who has been showing signs of mental illness for a year or no now. I refuse to be like my mother though.
Also used to be one of those kids. 14 is a pretty fucked up age for kids with mental illness, I think. It really is an age where you truly begin to believe you know everything, including the consequences of your actions - but it's so much more serious than these kids could ever realize. I can only hope they can get both of them (or I guess at least the daughter now, seeing as the son is likely aged out) into some kind of program to help them get back on track. That was what I needed, desperately, and I will always be grateful for the adults who helped me during that time.
When I was 18 I lived on my own and my 16 year old girlfriend got in a fight with her parents ran away from home. She came to my house telling me what she had done. She said she was going to move in and she didn't want her parents to know where she was. I knew her parents would be besides themselves with worry so I went behind her back and called her mom and told her where she was and that I would be respectful and try and convince her to go home. My girlfriend got mad at me for pushing her to go home but she finally did. Unfortunately her parents let it slip that I had ratted her out. She broke up with me. I really loved her but I still to this day, and especially now as a parent, think I did the right thing. A 14 year old girl has more drama with her parents for no reason than you can believe is possible. These neighbors need to get out of the way.

The boyfriend was even being quite manipulated by her. The 14 year-old was actually trying to get him to kill her mom. Those text messages in a row were frightening, and the husband was actually smiling and then realized someone could notice, so he stopped.

I went through a similar situation, and it was very difficult because when my daughter ran away, she crossed the state lines. So I had to get two states to cooperate and work together. I went through 37 false abuse claims in 26 months. All came back unfounded. It was excruciating. I never gave up, though. My daughter is now an adult, and getting ready to become a mom herself. She’s being induced in 2 days and our relationship is amazing. We are so close and she has grown into a remarkable young woman. Don’t give up mama!!! I promise this will all be worth it one day.

You would THINK, as a mother herself, she would have AT LEAST had the decency to call the girl's Mom and say "Your daughter is with me in our home. She is safe. You can come pick her up if you want to, or she is welcome to stay her for a day or two until she calms down. But to OUTRIGHT LIE and deny that they know where the plaintiff's daughter is (when she is right there in their home) is just insane. They SHOULD be charged with obstruction and more.

Same. My old school Italian grandmother raised me. I was allowed at my best friends house only and she always called to talk to her mom. I always got mad at her because she was so strict. Now that I'm older, I appreciate her for it. So many bad things happen to people. These young kids have to realize their parents are trying to keep them safe. Being strict isn't always them being mean.

They need control of their daughter first. But yes those texts were disturbing as hell. They need to keep both kids away from each other. But hearing those text messages they will always find a way to be together.
Controlling a teenager is not that easy. The legal system can/will only go a far and you have other folks like these parents will get in the way.

I refuse to believe the father didn’t know their daughter was there. Like he said he’s a child counselor and could get fired for this, so he throws his wife under the bus and lets her take all the heat. I wouldn't trust what Claudia's stepmom says completely bc she seems narcissistic against Claudia & is upset that she feels more comfortable with her boyfriend & his family. Those messages were an eye opener. The girl hates her mother with a passion. And it’s not every day a 14 year old girl goes into that kind of detail about un-aliving her own mother.

The stepmom said on fb that they couldn't get a restraining order, so it was a little annoying to watch JM go off on the defendants bc I knew that wouldn't happen in a real courtroom, so she was giving the plaintiffs false hope. The "dad" probably knew it, too, ("The JUDGE said it's ok") and that was part of the reason why he was laughing.. The Judge Judy/theatricality of it all.

Yeah little does he know that she's basically a genius who graduated college early with honors, but who went on to work at Harvard Law, and then after that as an assistant State Attorney in Florida, and then ultimately landing herself the position of Circuit Court Judge in Miami County.... all at a young age. Younger than most.
So she IS a real judge. In fact, her particular brand of spiciness, humor and intelligence is what made her stand out amongst other judges and what got her the offer to replace Judge Judy's husband, Judge Jerry Sheindlin on the People's Court.
Most people don't know that Judge Judy's husband also had his own court show (the people's court) in the late 90s I believe

The phone (text) conversation makes no sense then. Remember, the phone conversation took place BEFORE the girl was found. In fact, it was that conversation that got the girl discovered. So, it makes no sense for you to even think that he knew.

i totally disagree with the verdict , both the plaintiffs and the defendants are not totally credible , the judge should have not awarded the plaintiffs for messing up their own daughter to the point that their own daughter hates her mother , there is most likely alot that the plaintiffs are not revealing about things that they let happen to their daughter when she was a child .
Here's what I think.......the son's father knew she was there the whole time. You can look at his wife and tell she's timid as hell. I think the husband and the son have control of the house. My opinion is that he told her to "just say I didn't know". Just what I think, so don't come after me.

His smirks, grins and chuckles indicate that there's something seriously wrong with his strategies when confronting difficult situations. I weep for the youth he supposedly "counsels". If it were up to me, I wouldn't let him near any kids. Hopefully, his boss/superiors see this episode and realize that he's -- utterly and completely -- emotionally incompetent.
