I really hope they come out with a Anakins elite lightsaber. I’m thinking in the new Ashoka show they will have flash backs of Anakin and Ashoka and hopefully Hasbro will release a new version of his lightsaber.

SOUND FIX FOR THE BELT: I put a VERY slip strip of black electric tape around each of the sides belt clip right where they make contact with metal on the hilt, definitely quiets it quite a lot and it’s unnoticeable, if you do notice it doesn’t look out of place at all with the rest of the hilt as it matches the color pallet. Hope this helps!!
Think Force Fx are improving massively but with that the price goes up. You correctly identify that those with better quality are also levelling out. Defo my favourite Saber is Skywalker ROTJ too mate. Thanks for the awesome video as always 🤙🏻
I have really loved my galaxies edge version of this saber, except for the lack of smooth swing that my RGB has spoiled me with. I like the Hasbro's overall, but I'm pretty sold on a Vader neopixel as my next saber purchase.
I used to buy the FX Elite sabers preordered, but now I’m waiting for discounts. They’re not bad, and I don’t need things like neopixel since mine are on display, but it is disappointing to see a nearly $300 saber continue to have similar flaws.
Personally I really enjoy this saber. Mine has excellent swing and for a display piece it’s beautiful and surprisingly the swing on mine has been very smooth, not like neopixel sabers but it’s very good!

I’ll be honest, I might be alone here, but I actually really like the loose tri-ring. I do have a soft spot for miscellaneous sounds and clanking of weapons and armor, etc. cowboy spurs clicking, metal armor clanking, a sword being unsheathed. So I like the sound and feel of lightsabers rings swinging.
I think the complaint that the sounds are too much the same is a bit of base. In canon all the sabers except maybe for the "Dark Blade" use the same tech so there is no reason why they should sound different. I suppose since the choice of kyber crystal control the color of the blade it might also modify some sounds like the activation but the others are based on the physics of the design.
Just do what I did - remove the triangle(gotta bend it apart), take some heavy duty flat-nose pliers and slightly bend each of the tips that go into the holes. You only need to bend the tips ever so slightly. Now wrestle it back into the holes by taking some large vice grips(the pliers that have the screw that adjusts the width) and crimp it back together. You're Welcome.
Fixing the loose belt triangle. Cut a skinny strip of a pop can. Bend it round. And slide it into the housing. Then carefully cut off excess with an exacto knife. Gives a snug fit
I bought the custom sabre luke lightsaber and its awesome. It fits the 1 inch poly blades and its polished aluminum with really smooth motion detection like even better than the sabneo ones. The only thing thats better about that one you have is that its neopixel. Seems like most of the production cost went towards that. Wish I could post a demo of it in comments
I have a third-party saber that I play around with and two official sabers for display. Have been waiting so long for Luke's saber since it's my favourite as well 🥰
Awesome!! I love meeting other Luke saber fans. I have so many others that I love but it was my first gut reaction was that I love the look of it. Obi-Wan is an extremely close second and sometimes I second-guessed myself on days. Ha ha.

In my haste yesterday I forgot to add my opinion on the mouse. I agree about the quality versus the price tag, one of the biggest companies in the world and they can't make as reliable products as smaller companies can 🤔 By going up 15-25% in quality the sabers would be more consistent and less returns would be needed, also more fans would be prone to buy from them too. Therefore a little more in production cost would result in a bigger revenue 🤷🏻♂️
I've really enjoyed the fx elite sabers. I think there really might be a random manufacturing issue though. I had to exchange my kylo ren saber. I also have the rey and the darksaber. I love them!!
I can help with the hoop, all you need to do is get a pair of plyers and just squeeze it a little, not a lot of pressure, but it should stiffen it to where its more workable. Looks pretty awesome though, Luke's was always my favorite as well, I don't own a lightsaber as of yet, but I would like to get this one. Keep it up dude 👌

I totally agree with the price! I was actually excited for this one and the kenobi elite, but i managed to pick up obi wans new for 175 and lukes for 200 from ebay sellers. Not bad for that price at all in my opinion
Stiffen up the clip by pulling it off and wrapping the ends in plumbers tape. The same kind you would use to install a new shower head. It’s super thin and will create as much or as little friction as you like. Trim it down so it’s not visible. Works well to stiffen up joints on older action figures too. 👍
The Saberforge Prodigal Son had literally every official ROTJ Luke saber beat by a mile as long as 8 years ago. And now, for around $400 you can get a Xenopixel or Proffieboard Luke Skywalker saber that's louder, brighter, and more accurate than *anything* Disney will *ever* make.
I have a tricked out SF Prodigal Son and it's a decent hilt. The flaws of it are that it's overly big/long so it's not quite accurate to the true length and proportions of the ROTJ Luke saber. The control box also doesn't have the screen accurate flashing LED lights (like in the deleted scene) but I had the customizer (where I purchased it from) replace the control box with a brand new one with the lights. I also own the VadersVault Hero Gen2 and it's definitely a step above the SF Prodigal Son with better fit and finish, and the smaller/shorter proportions that's more accurate to the movie prop. I hear Korbanth makes a great Luke saber too with gullwing doors for the crystal chamber reveal (I never found it necessary to get the crystal chamber gimmick myself). The Hero is a display piece while the PS is my cosplay saber (loved wearing it to the Roppongi night clubs during Halloween).

Also, note that the Prodigal Son I purchased at the time (~8 years ago) was a Champion-tier (which at the time had only a single soundfont and extremely basic options). The Prodigal Son has since been updated to be more accurate than before, with the correct chrome finishing (compared to the v1's brushed finish) with lights on the control box, as well as new thread-in pixel blades, which compensate for think-necked sabers inferior base-lit and blade retention capabilities. 8 years ago, a pixel saber from them would run $750 + hilt cost. Now a Hero Pixel version costs quite a bit less, and has infinitely more options, with the ability to add new soundfonts.
depending on the site you go to and if your not wanting a replica style saber. you can find sabers with xenopixle boards and neopixle blades for about $280 or a bit less. I have a few replica sabers and do love them for the look but I love my xenopixle saber and being that it is not a replica I feel like its even more special to me. kinda like it was mine. it has some features of different replica sabers. but I ended up putting a leather wrap on the grip as it was just a plain grip with nothing on it. but to me thats kinda what made it mine.

I know I said I wanted something that I could afford, but I also want something that's ACCURATE to Luke's ROTJ lightsaber. Even if it means spending a few extra bucks. So is Artsabers good? 🤔

You may want to wait for my review, but I really do like the Luke saber I mentioned in the video. The only downside is that the lights on the activation box do not light up. But having the second emitter that is extended for more blade depth is a huge plus in my book.

Well, I'm still an Obi-Wan hilt devotee from ANH. Hasbro has enough of my money, so I'll stay with the hilts I purchased from (BLANK). Yes, I pay extra for overseas shipping, but usually get those hilts in 2 weeks. Still waiting on my Count Dooku V3 from Korbanth. Heard they may have some shipping this week, so I have some hope.
Is there any Green Luke lightsaber that has the screen accurate hilt size? That Artsabers smaller gold neck hilt looks soooo much better. Seems more accurate imo. Great review!
Hey Lukie. Yes, the Artsabers health is way more accurate, especially with two different emitters. 👍🏻 All of the sabers that are more a replica quality are between $600 and $1000. ArtSabers is only like $450. 🙌🏻
4:58 I got the regular force fx Luke saber and it has the same rattling noise, so I fixed it by just putting a small bit of sticky tac to pin it to the hilt. It probably won’t be ideal if you want it as a display piece, but it works perfectly if you mainly uses it for spinning around.
I have the Pach Hero V1. A little more expensive but not overly crazy, it's soooooo much better. Working thin neck goes a long way, as well as blinking leds on the control box. Also, I'd recommend looking at getting a Luke with the new xeno3 board if you're wanting budget! As for saber prices in general, they really are dipping down more and more for unlicensed. TXQ is running a sale right now and you can get their new pixel4 for as little as 90$ which is crazy.
Way better than the old Force FX which I had 4 of. I think the Elites are a good choice if you can’t afford a Neopixel…But just save the extra cash and get a neopixel
Honestly, the price is even less daunting if you purchase direct from the companies that the US resellers buy from. You can get a TGX ROTJ Luke with Proffie where the model work was done by Halliwax of the Replica Prop Forum, for like, $250. That's _less_ than the official ones, is more accurate AND a Proffie.
I was thinking about picking this up for my first lightsaber. My favorite hilts are Luke's from ROTJ and Ben Kenobi ANH. Obi-Dad thank you for sharing this review with us. I like this saber plus I really can't afford the smooth swing neopixle lightsaber's. If I could I would definitely get one of Luke's Return Of The Jedi lightsaber or Ben Kenobi A New Hope. Yeah I miss back when they still had the removable blade force fxs they each had their own unique sounds x.x Still kills me that I didn't get Luke's blue removable blade fx though back in Denver Comic Con x.x I do notice though the neck is a bit thinner on this version compared to the original Jedi Luke lightsabers though for sure

Love your vids, but PLEASE demonstrate how the swing sound is speed sensitive! You were right when you noticed it sounded a little different. I've seen no one in the comments ever mention this! Try swinging or just moving the saber very slowly, like lowering it down to your side, and the sound is slow. Go fast, and the sound is faster. I feel like this goes unnoticed, and Hasbro definitely doesn't advertise it. Thought I was imagining things, but then I spent like 10 minutes experimenting, and it definitely works this way.
Great vid as always. Wow, so much judgement and negativity ripping those who like the Force FX in the comments (not talking bout you Obi-Dad your great and as neutral and honest as possible). This saber review sure brought people out of the woodwork vs your other reviews Why can't people just like what they like? Not everyone has top dollar to spend on lightsabers. At the right time these can be had for under $200, which all my others are. I don't dual with them, they are primarily display pieces. Another reason I like these is are stands that come with them. They are all the same so for me it is a unified look when they are on my mantle. I hate clutter so a nice "clean" look is my preference. They are also accurate enough for my tastes. It's ok if some of us like the Force FX series, thus I don't get some of the judgy comments. All is good, off my soap box.

Thanks for the video, just bought this light sabre and have no idea where to put the blade when I'm not using it. I don't a a wall mount and wondered where everyone else keeps theirs without it getting damaged
After owning my leia for a few months, only been on display, I noticed the surround of the button is completely rusted/faded, and not to mention how many times I returned that saber to find a "good one" my first few had dents in the rose gold and shit silver pant. Hasbro really need better quality control, especially for the price tag, $500 here in aus

Thanks for another great video. I own a few elite sabers as well as some master replica ones. I'm really thinking of getting into custom sabers . I'd rather pay that bit extra for from what I've seen to be much better quality. Getting tired of Hasbro not evolving with their sabers. I picked this up from zavi for £140 GBP in the black Friday sale, it arrives tomorrow, but i dont understand why they dont have a rechargeable battery function? I have the force fx darth maul set & it takes the same batteries in the same type of set up, it was made in 2006, you would think they would have upgraded to charging capability by now, after all you can get a cheap saber from temu for £30 with usb C charging.

Hey bud, that’s a fantastic question. Unfortunately, Hasbro changes the connectors on every one of their sabers to be different whether it’s too long or has a different connector style. This means that the blade brakes then you cannot buy a replacement. Thank you for the question and for watching my video.
One interesting thing to note, some of these blades are interchangeable… obi wan and Leia Force FX are interchangeable. These two I own so I know for sure. The connector on Luke looks the same so maybe this one too?
Thanks for the video, i was going to buy this until you showed the deactivation sound is not the correct effect. I own the Episode 3 obi wan kenobi hasbro force fx lightsaber with removable blade from 2005 featuring the correct activation/deactivation saber sounds from Luke's ROTJ saber. It's so bad ass sounding. Haha. Was really hoping this new version would've been the same. Think it's time to finally buy one of these 400 dollar sabers in Lukes ROTJ version.

About the sound of Luke's saber, it was based on the Mandalorian, Book of Boba and the Sequels, so it has the same sound as Obi Wan.

Neo sabers is running an Easter sale, I got a 600 dollar saber for 300. Sometimes it is worth waiting around.

If you don’t want any blade wiggle, just throw a O-ring in there. I fixed that issue real fast. Maybe I’ll do a video on my channel showing.

Honestly looks better than the one from Galaxy's Edge. The proportions are just better and the blade ignition is smoother.

I totally agree with the price! I was actually excited for this one and the kenobi elite, but i managed to pick up obi wans new for 175 and lukes for 200 from ebay sellers. Not bad for that price at all in my opinion
Stiffen up the clip by pulling it off and wrapping the ends in plumbers tape. The same kind you would use to install a new shower head. It’s super thin and will create as much or as little friction as you like. Trim it down so it’s not visible. Works well to stiffen up joints on older action figures too. 👍

Put mop and glow in the belt clip and move it back and forth and it will tighten up… I use the same method in loose figure joints

The Saberforge Prodigal Son had literally every official ROTJ Luke saber beat by a mile as long as 8 years ago. And now, for around $400 you can get a Xenopixel or Proffieboard Luke Skywalker saber that's louder, brighter, and more accurate than *anything* Disney will *ever* make.
I have a tricked out SF Prodigal Son and it's a decent hilt. The flaws of it are that it's overly big/long so it's not quite accurate to the true length and proportions of the ROTJ Luke saber. The control box also doesn't have the screen accurate flashing LED lights (like in the deleted scene) but I had the customizer (where I purchased it from) replace the control box with a brand new one with the lights.
I also own the VadersVault Hero Gen2 and it's definitely a step above the SF Prodigal Son with better fit and finish, and the smaller/shorter proportions that's more accurate to the movie prop. I hear Korbanth makes a great Luke saber too with gullwing doors for the crystal chamber reveal (I never found it necessary to get the crystal chamber gimmick myself).
The Hero is a display piece while the PS is my cosplay saber (loved wearing it to the Roppongi night clubs during Halloween).

Also, note that the Prodigal Son I purchased at the time (~8 years ago) was a Champion-tier (which at the time had only a single soundfont and extremely basic options). The Prodigal Son has since been updated to be more accurate than before, with the correct chrome finishing (compared to the v1's brushed finish) with lights on the control box, as well as new thread-in pixel blades, which compensate for think-necked sabers inferior base-lit and blade retention capabilities.
8 years ago, a pixel saber from them would run $750 + hilt cost. Now a Hero Pixel version costs quite a bit less, and has infinitely more options, with the ability to add new soundfonts.

Is the material of fx elite "thin neck" part metal? Or plastic?
depending on the site you go to and if your not wanting a replica style saber. you can find sabers with xenopixle boards and neopixle blades for about $280 or a bit less. I have a few replica sabers and do love them for the look but I love my xenopixle saber and being that it is not a replica I feel like its even more special to me. kinda like it was mine. it has some features of different replica sabers. but I ended up putting a leather wrap on the grip as it was just a plain grip with nothing on it. but to me thats kinda what made it mine.

Hey Brandon, thank you so much for the compliment. I really appreciate it. I have only dealt with Artsabers over the last two years and just started working with one other company. You may want to wait for my review, but I really do like the Luke saber I mentioned in the video. The only downside is that the lights on the activation box do not light up. But having the second emitter that is extended for more blade depth is a huge plus in my book.

Well, I'm still an Obi-Wan hilt devotee from ANH. Hasbro has enough of my money, so I'll stay with the hilts I purchased from (BLANK). Yes, I pay extra for overseas shipping, but usually get those hilts in 2 weeks.

Hey Lukie. Yes, the Artsabers health is way more accurate, especially with two different emitters. 👍🏻 All of the sabers that are more a replica quality are between $600 and $1000. ArtSabers is only like $450. 🙌🏻
4:58 I got the regular force fx Luke saber and it has the same rattling noise, so I fixed it by just putting a small bit of sticky tac to pin it to the hilt. It probably won’t be ideal if you want it as a display piece, but it works perfectly if you mainly uses it for spinning around.

I got a Luke Xenopixel V3 lightsaber on sale for only $198. It’s normal price is 350. It is a waaaaaay better lightsaber.
I have the Pach Hero V1. A little more expensive but not overly crazy, it's soooooo much better.
Working thin neck goes a long way, as well as blinking leds on the control box.
Also, I'd recommend looking at getting a Luke with the new xeno3 board if you're wanting budget!
As for saber prices in general, they really are dipping down more and more for unlicensed. TXQ is running a sale right now and you can get their new pixel4 for as little as 90$ which is crazy.

Way better than the old Force FX which I had 4 of. I think the Elites are a good choice if you can’t afford a Neopixel…But just save the extra cash and get a neopixel
Honestly, the price is even less daunting if you purchase direct from the companies that the US resellers buy from.
You can get a TGX ROTJ Luke with Proffie where the model work was done by Halliwax of the Replica Prop Forum, for like, $250.
That's _less_ than the official ones, is more accurate AND a Proffie.

Yeah I miss back when they still had the removable blade force fxs they each had their own unique sounds x.x Still kills me that I didn't get Luke's blue removable blade fx though back in Denver Comic Con x.x I do notice though the neck is a bit thinner on this version compared to the original Jedi Luke lightsabers though for sure

If you're delicate you could maybe solder the belt clip in place so it doesn't move.

Love your vids, but PLEASE demonstrate how the swing sound is speed sensitive! You were right when you noticed it sounded a little different. I've seen no one in the comments ever mention this! Try swinging or just moving the saber very slowly, like lowering it down to your side, and the sound is slow. Go fast, and the sound is faster. I feel like this goes unnoticed, and Hasbro definitely doesn't advertise it. Thought I was imagining things, but then I spent like 10 minutes experimenting, and it definitely works this way.
We call that “smooth swing” with the Proffie, CFX, Golden Harvest sound boards.
I thought the yellow things on the blade were a bad thing, thanks for clearing it up😅

Great vid as always. Wow, so much judgement and negativity ripping those who like the Force FX in the comments (not talking bout you Obi-Dad your great and as neutral and honest as possible). This saber review sure brought people out of the woodwork vs your other reviews Why can't people just like what they like? Not everyone has top dollar to spend on lightsabers. At the right time these can be had for under $200, which all my others are. I don't dual with them, they are primarily display pieces. Another reason I like these is are stands that come with them. They are all the same so for me it is a unified look when they are on my mantle. I hate clutter so a nice "clean" look is my preference. They are also accurate enough for my tastes. It's ok if some of us like the Force FX series, thus I don't get some of the judgy comments. All is good, off my soap box.

The blade and neck does not need to be movie accurate, that’s what the display one is for. But with the rising prices, I just wanted to point out what people could get for a little bit more. After owning my leia for a few months, only been on display, I noticed the surround of the button is completely rusted/faded, and not to mention how many times I returned that saber to find a "good one" my first few had dents in the rose gold and shit silver pant. Hasbro really need better quality control, especially for the price tag, $500 here in aus
cut a piece of paper tape or electric tape down the middle to get two strips and wrap them around the triangle clip at both points of contact where it hits the hilt, it will silence the clip.

Thanks for another great video. I own a few elite sabers as well as some master replica ones. I'm really thinking of getting into custom sabers . I'd rather pay that bit extra for from what I've seen to be much better quality. Getting tired of Hasbro not evolving with their sabers. I picked this up from zavi for £140 GBP in the black Friday sale, it arrives tomorrow, but i dont understand why they dont have a rechargeable battery function? I have the force fx darth maul set & it takes the same batteries in the same type of set up, it was made in 2006, you would think they would have upgraded to charging capability by now, after all you can get a cheap saber from temu for £30 with usb C charging.

Hey bud, that’s a fantastic question. Unfortunately, Hasbro changes the connectors on every one of their sabers to be different whether it’s too long or has a different connector style. This means that the blade brakes then you cannot buy a replacement. Thank you for the question and for watching my video.

One interesting thing to note, some of these blades are interchangeable… obi wan and Leia Force FX are interchangeable. These two I own so I know for sure. The connector on Luke looks the same so maybe this one too?

Thanks for the video, i was going to buy this until you showed the deactivation sound is not the correct effect. I own the Episode 3 obi wan kenobi hasbro force fx lightsaber with removable blade from 2005 featuring the correct activation/deactivation saber sounds from Luke's ROTJ saber. It's so bad ass sounding. Haha. Was really hoping this new version would've been the same. Think it's time to finally buy one of these 400 dollar sabers in Lukes ROTJ version.
I just hit the joints of the clip with loctite and when it drys you can just move it around and it will be stiffer
