Sponsoring JoCat was probably one of the (far too) few good decisions made by "the sponsor", the only other I can think of being "backing down from the sponsor's previous bad decisions and ideas". Hiding the actual link in another link was... to be expected by "the sponsor".
Hey, at least the song and animation is great. And I do wanna play some RPGs with my friends and maybe even DM some DnD for them - there are some good earlier editions available after all and I don't need to subscribe to any "sponsors" to play what I already have with my friends.
Cautious is right. There's nothing preventing WoTC from turning around and trying to sue him for merely talking about D&D given their antics this year.
Hopefully he at least bled them dry over this sponsorship before they decide to change their minds.

You are absolutely right by the law suit would probably be a loss because the only thing he really said that could be “copyright” is saying stuff like DnD and if that’s the case well no one would ever be able to say the brand name again. Plus there’s a matter of him agreeing to probably an email from wizards which the courts would say “You asked him to make this video and are now sueing him.” Wizards has been doing super stupid shit the last year but if they tried to sue Jocat A. He would probably tweet about it and the community will be pissed and boycott them again and B. As I said his case would be way too good
Oh yeah, Wiz is evil and no one should be working with them. That said, I have been evil's servant for money, so I will not throw stones at Jocat for doing the same thing.

Same here. I was enjoying the nice & rather decent song being started when the, "Do I know you?" totally pulled me out my immersion & had me busting out laughing!
A nice twist, making it feel more "real to life occurrence" than "a scripted scene", added an entirely new dimension of unexpected humor.

I want so bad to get my gf into it. I have a campaign with friends every Wednesday that I usually give her the highlights from afterwards and she finds entertaining, but she just recently started sitting in the Discord call to hear our shenanigans firsthand. I'm hoping these are the first few sparks of genuine interest in playing.

I was the one that got dragged into D&D by my friends and now I'm even more enthusiastic (and annoying) about it than they are. Don't want to sound depressing, but It was the first time since childhood I felt so excited about life lol.

Back on Saturday's session for my group things went really bad for us near the end and I've been feeling terrible ever since, this video has helped remind me of why I even play with them, no matter how bad it goes for my character or the others, we're all just friends trying to have fun playing a game together with our collective imaginations. I literally just started to get some of my work buddies interested in trying the game, and this song came out at the right time. This will be my motivational music.
I went to see the dnd movie with a friend and I have been since slowly trying to get them interested in playing dnd with me :3 I've also sent this to them and they loved it! This animation and song gives me so much joy and I've sent it to some other friends whom I hope one day I can play dnd with!! Me and some friends wanted to play dnd once, I was nervous to be the dungeon master because I’d only run one or two campaigns before it, but I remember videos like this saying that dnd is really just some rules and whatever the heck you want, so we just went for it. but by the half way point in the campaign we basically aren’t playing dnd and instead a ttrpg we’re making up as we go that we are calling dnd that is very loosely based in it. But we’re having fun so it doesn’t matter ig
