    2g protein per kilogramm
    1g fat per kilogramm

    I was on Keto+IF to lose body fat, made 6 packs visible but those last stubborn fats under belly button were staying there for long time. So I wanted to prioritize gaining weight and I started to eat a high carb high fat high protein diet while I keep doing 20 hours fasting a day. I expected to gain fat also cause I added lots of carbs but I didn't worry cause I could go back to clean keto anytime.
    And unexpectedly, my fat burn increased while I gained 1 kg in few weeks. Also right after my 4 hours eating window ends, my body goes back to keto although I ate rice and banana covered with honey. This is amazing. I think months of strict keto+IF made my body very well fat adapted and increased my insulin sensitivity a lot.

    Bro, sorry for saying this, but you should have done a more deeper and better Research before you suggest people taking BCAA during or before fasted cardio. This thing is a really really huge misconcept since forever. I just read a lot of scientific researches on this topic about 2 weeks ago. If you check every BCAA product have around 40 kcal for a normal serving.
    Even that amount of calories, especially because BCAA has Leucin in it which has a significant effect on your Insulin level will make a little pike to your Insulin level. So with that say you will not be in a really strict FASTED state anymore. Deeper researches even showed that taking protein powder during cardio if you do it to help your body keep your muscle and use fat as energy source is a better approach than drinking your BCAA! :D
    Another thing to mention is chewing gum. Chewing gum even if it is a 0 calorie one, the sweetener in it will make effect on your insuline level and push you out from the strict fasted state. I know it is crazy, especially with the BCAA thing, but if you really want to stay in a fasted state just forget about what the Supplement industry tries to sell you and put you in your brain and do not even use BCAA's. Drink them afterwards or do a strict fasted cardio in the morning, and do your workout in the afternoon and drink your BCAAs during your workout.

    • @DoctorMikeDiamonds
      @DoctorMikeDiamonds  5 років тому +11

      I have to disagree bro. First the bcaa I take only has 5 calories serving. Insulin even reacts to black coffee let alone a 5 calorie scoop of bcaa. The difference is negligible compared to eating a rice crispy bar.

    •  5 років тому

      @@hrithik4515 yep, scientifically it does for sure, that's what I also said. Every research showed this. If it really effects fat loss on a long term even if you don't even know that it does break your fast and you only think like "oh this helps me keep my muscle mass" that's a good question

    Thanks for always posting great and reliable info, especially backing it up with the facts from research. I've been looking into intermittent fasting but have been somewhat hesitant to go full on, because of work regime. How would you tailor such training for an Active Duty Soldier? 16 hours of fasting can appear to be "risky" especially if your daily routine is very demanding. Any tips and input would be appreciated.
