The Security Guard that gave Mario gas for the bike is a classic example of Malaysian kindness n sincerity. And he refused money as a token of appreciation from Mario by putting it back on the bike. What a sincere guy. He spoke good English which is v commendable; he is in a rural town in Perak where English is probably rarely spoken. Speaking of English, it is interesting to note that Olivia pronounced the Hotel as S M Zee instead of S M Zed, considering the fact that Olivia is from England n not America.
If we look at various vlog from other UA-camrs like Ken Abraod, Veggies on Tour, Jetleg Warrior (to name a few), they never had any problem communicating with local in English at any place and time throughout east coast and rural areas. Despite of negative perspective from others especially from west malaysians , east coast people proven to be most kindness of all malaysians.
kepada pengawal keselamatan tu kalau sapa2 yang kenal ucapkan tahniah kepada dia. dia menunjukkan yang rakyat malaysia ni suka membantu orang lain dalam kesusahan. tak kira bangsa apa.
We malaysian are thought to always help the “musafir” or in english raughly translated as the travellers..or those on the road. His act of kindness is not unexpected in malaysia..❤
It's legit wild elephants roaming there. Usually come out at night or before sunrise. Hence lots of elephants poo on road or near the edges. Also lots of wild animals such as tapir , black panther , boar , pangolin sometimes will cross the road at that time
Thumbs up to Rosli for helping n showing hospitality 👍. Yes Mario, its wild elephants, sometimes they appeared on the road, highways. In 2022, there's a British couples encountered a group of wild elephants while driving at East coast highways, they were so ecstatic n posted their experience here on UA-cam.
From Changlun to Grik the rural road is quite sparsely populated which is why there were not many traffic.. also most travellers choose to use the highway. but the east -west road despite being remote and in the middle of jungle, is the main thoroughfare from Eastern states to Northern states. thus the heavy traffic. It is quite easy to see elephants at night but more dangerous. Take your time guys.. Kelantan and Terengganu still has a rich Malay culture and you wont see it anywhere else in Malaysia. Life is so laidback and you can get lost in time there.. but still have all the luxuries of a modern world

Totally loving this video! It’s something different for us in Malaysia, and the scenery is just wow. But come on, why so brief? I was just getting into it!
Hi, your trip reminds me of how I quited my job and bring all my belongings solo travel the entire island of west Malaysia on a motorbike for 2 weeks at the age of 21, my memory says I've done from Kuala Kedah to Jeli under 7 hours in one shot, basically same case as you I've been running the bike for 1 hour on petrol reserve light on... but I've made it to the petrol station in Jeli magically, too much was going on my mind back then, I was completely undisturb by the scenery, it must be beautiful being on the road, I'll try that again in the future. enjoy your trip, great work!
Its a dangerous road, especially at night. Elephant, phanter (wild) were known to pop up on the road side at night. If your vehicle broke down, it took hours before help comes. Also weird spooky stuff were known to happen when its dark...
wow guys....ur using Y suku all the way to kota bharu....awesome....if u guys are in trouble along ur trip just ask the local...and for sure some one will help coz this is what malaysian are...malay...chinese...indian...the are all very cool n nice people
the banding dam you stopped by was built by the british in the past for drinking and hydroelectricity. and there was an engineering error by the British when the water level started to rise, submerging several villages around the dam. and this lake has a horror story that there is a snake head fish that is the size of a barrel and grabs and eats people.😂😂😂

Be careful about your petrol gas and tyre motorcycle.. safety first on the road guys and love you ❤. You must take 2 liter gas petrol for emergency on the road.
Wild tigers.... be careful guys. There are a couple of road sightings around Kelantan/Terengganu border so beware (if u haven't passed those areas yet)
For petrol in rural area , try asking convinience shop or just shop that sells things. They sell it by the bottle i think. So dont be shy and ask. But yeah keeping spare is wise.
Get a 1.5litre bottle, 2 of them (easily found in the trash can at petrol stations) to 3 litres of spare fuel. But other than that route, you would find at least 1 petrol station every 100km.
There are numerous attractive islands off the east coast, although they are rather remote and expensive to stay on. If you can find a budget hostel, it will be nice.
Great vlog on your ride across the East West Highway. A few years ago, there's a petrol station at Tasik Banding and now it's not operating anymore. I always bring along a spare 3L petrol jerry can just in case while riding my scooter across. From Bukit Bunga I will cross to Thailand for birding in Hala Bala Wildlife Sanctuary. Happy riding & safe ride.
Riding a motorcycle from Kedah to Kelantan is crazy, especially with the challenging route you took. I rode from KL to Gua Musang, Kelantan, and it only took 4 hours, but it felt like my skin was burning because the weather was extremely hot at that time. Welcome to Kelantan, and I hope both of you arrive safely at your destination. 👍
