Bayo was so right in the end! Suarez did more for Liverpool than Fabregas did for Arsenal. Both left before their peaks but Suarez's best season for Liverpool was up there with one of the best striker performances in prem history. The same can not be said as midfielder equivalence with Fabregas
Suarez shared the European golden boot with Real Madrid's Ronaldo that season, he scored 31 goals in 33 games. Best striker ever to play in the Premier league.

If you put Bergkamp in the midfield then you have Wright, Owen and Van Persie, all of them atleast challenging Suarez position in the team and if you want to judge by only one season Anelka could be there too. Suarez is one of the best I loved watching him play but with those names that I mentioned he is not a clear winner imo
I think if you’re picking single best season then Suarez and Henry’s best striker seasons are a tier above anyone else’s. Fowler probably third.

The style their teams play matters a lot, and for me, both had top top defenders in front of them, but Chelsea's players would be there more often to block shots or cut out angles to help Cech out, whereas Alisson mostly has to deal with 1v1 gk where there's nobody to bail HIM out if he don't save it. Just more complete for me as a gk than Cech, but not to say Cech doesn't deserve his praises as well

Man Suarez has to be down the middle. He missed 8-9 games of 2013/14 and the team he was in he levelled the premier league goal record and almost won the league. Should of won the league. Suarez was immense.

Every club has their era and the more recent one is Liverpool's best in terms of quality. That's just how it works, same for City. Arsenal and UTD's best years were in the past though I think for Arsenal certain current players could be in this conversation in the next 4/5 years
Fabregas was great for Arsenal but Luís Suarez is arguably the best player of his era aside from Messi and Ronaldo, certainly as a forward.

Generally agree although it feels so hard to leave Bergkamp out, absolutely top tier player.
I also think Robertson is getting close to Cole’s Arsenal run, he’s almost as good defensively, is just as consistent but has offered more going forward in his time (partly due to role evolving over time and Klopp’s tactics, but still, nobody thinks of Robertson as defensively suspect) it’s hard for any new player to overtake an established legend from a previous generation, and for some fans there’s basically nothing a modern player could ever achieve to do it.

Henry went onto Barcelona and did alright, Suarez went to Barcelona and outshone Henry's time there by a mile, winning the 2015-16 season European golden shoe along with his European golden shoe with Liverpool in the 2013- 14 season.

I always think that on these videos 😂 to be fair to them, it's hard to assess the levels of players going back over a significant period of time.
You can’t compare modern football to guys who’d turn up to games in a time where it wasn’t uncommon to have had a drink or 2. Or guys who played before yellow and red cards existed.
Not really because it's all subjective. People will choose players that they are convinced are the best without actually witnessing them play anyway.
The reality is, the players pre 85 were all garbage in comparison to greats of the Premier League era and the league was still 99% UK and Ireland players up to 1994. I've lived it.
The game is full of professionals now, not part time p!ss heads.
@jimmelton5846 yeah and so that's why you judge players relative to their time. Yes, someone like Pele would struggle nowadays because of the new levels of fitness and all that. But relative to his time, he scored more goals, won more world cups and in general played better than everyone. And that's how you judge it. Because if you apply your logic, when does it end? Even players from the 90s and early 2000s wouldn't be able to cope in today's game. But if I turned around and said Trent Alexander-Arnold is a better rb than Gary Neville because Gary wouldn't be able to cope with today's tempo, you'd all call me crazy

@gdpriv0 not taking anything away from TAA here but in my opinion, I prioritize defensive ability for my defenders. Also although TAA is clear better passer but I think Lauren is better ball carrier and his passing isn't bad so I prefer the options he offers more than TAA. TAA has better potential ceiling though, just not there yet, I think.

@@SamLewis18 It's difficult because there's an argument for Pires in the same way there's an argument for Trent in this XI because he's so good going forward, but lacks in other areas, whereas Lauren was a good mix. But what makes players memorable is being outstanding at 1 or 2 aspects of their game at the end of the day, which is why no one talks about players like Malouda or Giggs in high regard compared to players like Salah.
Pires was better at a lot of things that Salah isn't, and likewise for Salah being good at things that Pires isn't. I don't think Pires gets into an all-time combined XI but he's definitely the most 'slept on' top player in my opinion. The guy could literally do and had everything as a player except tracking back.

The liverpool team from 18/19 & 19/20 is greater than any arsenal team that has ever existed. They went up against a centurions manchester city team. They were 6mm away from centurions invincibles. They won the champions league. They won the league with 99 points. They had 196 points in two seasons. The two sides don't remotely compare. Liverpool went up against centurions City and proved they could beat the best in Europe. Beating psg, bayern and barcelona on their way to becoming European champions.
They where so great they only managed to win 1 league title

Yep, the 2nd greatest defence in Premier League history. Only Mourinho's 2004-05 Chelsea title winning team conceded less, with 15. Those two are the only two defences in PL history to ever concede less than 20 in a whole season as well.

As a Liverpool I still really like Bergkamp. But I like fabregas a little more so I'd have him over Bergkamp in midfield and suarez up top. Although they're all quality players and I wouldn't really argue too much with either of their XI's

That team is honestly unreal. Suarez gets in on that 13/14 season alone. 31 goals (no penalties) in 33 games. 17 Transfermarkt assists too. Singlehandedly took a team that conceded 50 goals to a title charge, and was just simply unlucky not to win it.
To be fair, Suarez missing those games was his own fault. Many people say that if it wasn’t for Suarez biting incidents Liverpool would have won the League.
His behavior surely must be considered in terms of his quality and Premier League career

Bergkamp isn't a nine though. Robbie is so concerned about positioning him correctly that he is ignorant to the fact that putting him on his own upfront doesn't play to any of his strengths.

Don't have too much arguments until we get to the front of the pitch.
I do kind of think you have to do Fabregas in the midfield rather then Dennis for balance, you do need a proper midfield. I'd also change the front three, although just positionally. I'd actually put Suarez on the left with Henry through the middle. Suarez and Salah are both very forward minded players who will cut in (and Henry would do the same if on the left). I think playing Henry in the middle is ideal because he used to love dropping deep into midfield, opening up space for Suarez and Salah to run into, where has Suarez playing through the centre tended to stay forward alot more.

As a Chelsea fan, for once I agree with both teams. Before the video I had Robbie's final team in my head, and I'll most probably stick by it because both Fabregas and Gerrard have defensive capabilities to help control the midfield. I also have to agree with Akinfenwa because Saurez was one of the most talented strikers ever, so it's a toss-up between him and Bergkamp up front.
I’ll have Dennis and Fabregas in the team. They both contributed more to the PL than Suarez.

If you're making a greatest Prem XI you'd have Fabregas in over Suarez based off legacy. If you were making the best Prem XI where you're just trying to fit as many players with the highest peaks as you can get away with then you'd put Suarez in. If you were making a functional team that was balanced you'd probably have to pick between Suarez and Bergkamp and play Fabregas in midfield.
The temptation is to cram as many attackers in but Fabregas has a massive legacy in the Premier League. 2nd most assists, got close to the record in a season, is arguably Arsenal's best player of the Emirates era. Also went on to win 2 titles with Chelsea and was a magician for them. Massively underrated player. But I get that people want to fit the extra attacker in.
