The liverpool team from 18/19 & 19/20 is greater than any arsenal team that has ever existed. They went up against a centurions manchester city team. They were 6mm away from centurions invincibles. They won the champions league. They won the league with 99 points. They had 196 points in two seasons. The two sides don't remotely compare. Liverpool went up against centurions City and proved they could beat the best in Europe. Beating psg, bayern and barcelona on their way to becoming European champions.
Man said seamen over Alison and I’ve turned it off. I saw another man saying Saliba and Gabriel over VVD and konate so I’m done with arsenal fans altogether
You can’t compare modern football to guys who’d turn up to games in a time where it wasn’t uncommon to have had a drink or 2. Or guys who played before yellow and red cards existed.
Not really because it's all subjective. People will choose players that they are convinced are the best without actually witnessing them play anyway. The reality is, the players pre 85 were all garbage in comparison to greats of the Premier League era and the league was still 99% UK and Ireland players up to 1994. I've lived it. The game is full of professionals now, not part time p!ss heads.
@jimmelton5846 yeah and so that's why you judge players relative to their time. Yes, someone like Pele would struggle nowadays because of the new levels of fitness and all that. But relative to his time, he scored more goals, won more world cups and in general played better than everyone. And that's how you judge it. Because if you apply your logic, when does it end? Pires was better at a lot of things that Salah isn't, and likewise for Salah being good at things that Pires isn't. Alisson Trent; Sol Campbell; van Dijk; A. Cole Patrick Vieira; Steven Gerrard M. Salah; D. Bergkamp; S. Mané Thierry "Titi" Henry Team 1: 4-2-3-1 would do this team well. Shout to Pires who was excellent, I just think Mané was better. The "question marks" for Trent's defensive issues are so overblown and ridiculous. Alisson Trent; Sol Campbell; van Dijk; A. Cole P. Vieira; X. Alonso; S. Gerrard M. Salah; T. Henry; S. Mané Team 2: 4-3-3.
This is easy: - Alisson - Trent - VVD - Campbell - Cole - Viera - Alonso (this team needs a passer to make things tick) - Gerrard (CM/AM) - Salah - Suarez - Henry Subs - Seaman, Keown, Adams, Lauren, Mascherano, Cesc, Bergkamp, Mane. The only slight weakness would be at RB if Trent bombs forward that midfield is so strong, dominant and so mobile, they'd be able to cover gaps pretty easily or they'd be so dominant, the opposition would even be able to target the RB position!
If you're making a greatest Prem XI you'd have Fabregas in over Suarez based off legacy. If you were making the best Prem XI where you're just trying to fit as many players with the highest peaks as you can get away with then you'd put Suarez in. If you were making a functional team that was balanced you'd probably have to pick between Suarez and Bergkamp and play Fabregas in midfield. The temptation is to cram as many attackers in but Fabregas has a massive legacy in the Premier League. 2nd most assists, got close to the record in a season, is arguably Arsenal's best player of the Emirates era. Also went on to win 2 titles with Chelsea and was a magician for them. Massively underrated player. But I get that people want to fit the extra attacker in.
As a Liverpool I still really like Bergkamp. But I like fabregas a little more so I'd have him over Bergkamp in midfield and suarez up top. Although they're all quality players and I wouldn't really argue too much with either of their XI's
Bergkamp isn't a nine though. Robbie is so concerned about positioning him correctly that he is ignorant to the fact that putting him on his own upfront doesn't play to any of his strengths.
How was this even a discussion at the end, can't believe nobody jumped in, Suarez over Fabregas all day long and it's not even close, that team on the board at the end would win absolutely everything & the only way you could screw it up would be by taking Suarez out for Fabregas.
Couldn’t watch that, uninformed nonsense. But it surely has to be: Allison Trent, Campbell, VVD, Cole Vieira Gerrard Fabregas/Bergkamp Salah, Bergkamp/Suarez, Henry Only discussion is Fabregas or Suarez, either more balance in midfield or getting both Bergkamp and Suarez into the same team.
Before watching. Id say 442. Alisson, Trent, VVD, Campbell, Cole, Salah, Vieira, Gerrard, Mane, Henry, Bergkamp. Don’t mind Robbo for Cole, Pires for Mane and Suarez for Bergkamp. All great players. Manager is Wenger
Robbie's team makes more sense. People forget Fabregas wasn't as influential at barca because he joined a team with Prime Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. Saurez joined an attack which had Alexis Sanchez as the only one who was some sort of competition and he also left. Fabregas was great for Chelsea when he returned
@@DeepMukherjee If you are referring to the Final team agreed upon by the guys, I would like to clarify that I do not think Suarez and Fabregas should be in the team.... I think Viera & Gerrard are the CMs, with Salah, Bergkamp and Pires as RW, CAM and LW respectively with Henry as the CF... That would be my version of the best XI... Fabregas was good for Arsenal but Bergkamp was exceptional. Thus although Fabregas would be a better Midfielder than Bergkamp, I would rather have Bergkamp in the team as he was the better (by a mile) player than Fabregas... I hope this clarifies my view on this
As a Chelsea fan, for once I agree with both teams. Before the video I had Robbie's final team in my head, and I'll most probably stick by it because both Fabregas and Gerrard have defensive capabilities to help control the midfield. I also have to agree with Akinfenwa because Saurez was one of the most talented strikers ever, so it's a toss-up between him and Bergkamp up front.
all time best: GK: Allison: Seaman was great, but would have Allison all day. Anyone having Seaman over Allison has recency bias RB: Trent: Lauren is in contention as well as Lee Dixon, but Trent virtually changed how people view right backs. Now playing the inverted role, and he's still got potential CB: Tony Adams: He was a monster and intimidating during his prime. CB: VVD: Can't argue that VVD during his prime (2018-2021) was the arguably top 3 centerback during the 2010-2020 era. Sol is a contender, but VVD during those 3 years was better. LB: Ashely Cole: As good as Robertson has been, Cole was just on another planet. CDM: Viera: Monster of a defensive mid and intimidating. Also the only one who actually liked a fight against roy keane. CM: Gerrard: For that real center mid role, Gerrard is too good to leave out. An underrated shoutout is Fabregas. People forget how good Fabregas was at Arsenal, but for me, it's Gerrard CM/CAM: Coutinho. As a neutral, he would sometimes not seem present during the game. And then all of a sudden, he would have spells in the game where he was untouchable. Such a fun player to watch and no doubt the CAM people would want during his prime RW: Salah: no debate here ST: Henry: No debate here either LW: Mane: Mane in his prime was just as enchanting to watch than Salah. Obviously Salah became better but there was a time when both were neck to neck for a long time. Underrated. Overmars, Pires, and Limpar were good shoutouts, but Mane was so much more direct and dangerous. This is my view as a neutral, but lmk if I overlook anyone

ALL TIME XI? Do these people think football started in 1992?
I always think that on these videos 😂 to be fair to them, it's hard to assess the levels of players going back over a significant period of time.
Even players from the 90s and early 2000s wouldn't be able to cope in today's game. But if I turned around and said Trent Alexander-Arnold is a better rb than Gary Neville because Gary wouldn't be able to cope with today's tempo, you'd all call me crazy

Robbie uses the invincible argument then gets all skeptical of Suárez and goes “one season though”. So were the invincibles my guy lol

Suarez was just the best player he has to be in
Seaman was not our keeper in the invicibles season, he left in 2003.
Bergkamp isn't a nine though. Robbie is so concerned about positioning him correctly that he is ignorant to the fact that putting him on his own upfront doesn't play to any of his strengths.
Xabi Alonso deserves a mention, so does Pires.
How was this even a discussion at the end, can't believe nobody jumped in, Suarez over Fabregas all day long and it's not even close, that team on the board at the end would win absolutely everything & the only way you could screw it up would be by taking Suarez out for Fabregas.

Robbie's team makes more sense. People forget Fabregas wasn't as influential at barca because he joined a team with Prime Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. I also have to agree with Akinfenwa because Saurez was one of the most talented strikers ever, so it's a toss-up between him and Bergkamp up front.
I’ll have Dennis and Fabregas in the team. They both contributed more to the PL than Suarez.
Akinfenwa’s team is the correct team
all time best:
GK: Allison: Seaman was great, but would have Allison all day. Anyone having Seaman over Allison has recency bias
RB: Trent: Lauren is in contention as well as Lee Dixon, but Trent virtually changed how people view right backs. Now playing the inverted role, and he's still got potential
CB: Tony Adams: He was a monster and intimidating during his prime.
People forget how good Fabregas was at Arsenal, but for me, it's Gerrard
CM/CAM: Coutinho. As a neutral, he would sometimes not seem present during the game. And then all of a sudden, he would have spells in the game where he was untouchable. Such a fun player to watch and no doubt the CAM people would want during his prime
RW: Salah: no debate here
ST: Henry: No debate here either
LW: Mane: Mane in his prime was just as enchanting to watch than Salah. Obviously Salah became better but there was a time when both were neck to neck for a long time. Underrated. Overmars, Pires, and Limpar were good shoutouts, but Mane was so much more direct and dangerous.
This is my view as a neutral, but lmk if I overlook anyone
