I don't blend it, I cut in halves (then remove the skin). I cut the halves into smaller pieces so I can mash them with my masher. It retains its gel like texture better that way. If your aloe smells when you first cut it, soak it over night in water. It leeches the latex out of the leaf (you'll see the water turn yellow) and it smells like nothing after you blend it. I just use a potato masher and strain it with a nut milk bag to keep the clumps from getting in my hair. I would also recommend that you process the whole plant and just freeze the rest of the aloe in an ice cube tray. That way, you can just thaw the cube before you wash and by the time you're done, its ready to put in your hair. I have a ziploc bag of aloe cubes in my freezer and its really handy to portion out what I need!
am i the only person who doesn’t have an issue with the little tiny pieces of aloe everyone talks about ( not having an issue meaning i’ve never experienced it )
You are suppose to strain your aloe plant thoroughly with an extremely fine strainer or a stocking to prevent to flakey residue. I have used the aloe plant a million times with no problems and yes the aloe plant does work.
I blend my aloe vera on high with Coconut oil, and tea tree oil until it no longer has the pulp like texture. You just have to blend it a little longer.
Did you wash your hair with shampoo after leaving it in, or just with water? Not to mention that I also get product build-up easily.

Hello Mercy! I follow you and I too have incorporated aloe vera into my care regimen. I notice people love you and reach out to you for help, but you never respond back. Please take the time to appreciate your followers. You have been such inspiration and we look forward to more videos. God bless you and family in this tragic times
I use aloe vera in my homemade hair oils. I chop up the av plant into chunks cook it in a double boiler with my oil of choice and fresh banana peals. It works wonders for my hair, it's a lot softer, stronger and has grown quite a bit.
I agree 💯... No unnecessary stress... I am new to your channel... Just started to grow natural hair... My hair is very coarse... Please to take me through the process of growing it... I am a Jamaican... Aloe vera...
I strain it like 4 times with my cheese cloth after blending it with a little bit of jojoba oil and olive oil. It's perfectly fine and is gold for my hair
@Eliseo Thanks for the tip. Yes I was itching and was thinking I was leaving it in my hair too long. I was blending the gel with avocado and olive oil. So I will definitely try that....
Eliseo. Thanks. Are you saying that once the juice is in the bottle, to put the top on the bottle and let it sit for an hour in the bottle before I spray it on my hair? Or one the aloe plant is cut open, to let the pieces sit out for annour before I scoop out the gel?
When it comes to the itch... when someone cuts the aloe Vera it has a “yellow slime.” That yellow slime could cause the itch because it’s the plants normal defense when animals try to bite it. I believe if you let it sit in water for a day the water should turn yellow because the plant drained the yellow slime out
Classy_D_Diamond I soak my aloe to get the sap out and I still itch, but my hair loves aloe so imma keep using it and spray peppermint and castor oil on my scalp to soothe the itch when it comes.. which is mainly I think when o get a sweaty scalp
I let my aloe vera soak for a couple of hours or overnight to drain the yellow residue that you see after cutting it. Then I apply 2 sections of the soaked plant directly to my edges. I take any other pieces, that I plan on using and scoop out the aloe vera and blend it in the blender and then strain it, then I add to an application bottle and apply it to my hair. Soaking and or blending seems to prevent the white caky film from appearing on the hair. So far I haven’t had any flakes. 🤞 Thanks for the great info…
Hi family ,Did you know that aloe is really agave. Which is remove from the inside of an leaf know as agave . It's washed a set on a rack in bulks to sun dry. It's white an stringy like hair... Can grow as long as 40 inches or longer.
THANK YOU for this video☺️ I strongly believe that my mom doesn’t trust me with my own hair and just today I mentioned to her how I should use aloe Vera to get my hair healthy and longer. She basically shut down my whole idea but then said I need to know more about it and I came across this video😁🙏🏾
Hi mercy... I'm Zanele from south Africa. I'm blown away by your hair, on how it looks and you take care of it. I'm obsessed with aloe vera now. Thanks to your videos I'm learning how to take care of my hair.
Thank you Mercy for this informative video. What I'm not getting though from all the videos I watch is ... 1. How many times per week is it ok to spray aloe vera juice on your hair 2. How long should you save your aloe vera juice for when you make it from scratch should it be a day, cpl days, a week or just for that time to be used. 3. Also if the aloe vera juice changes color is it still OK to use. Thank you♥️ looking forward to a response.
Hiya I love your videos ❤️. There’s one step you miss. When you cut the aloe Vera you will see that the leaf releases a yellowish substance( called Aloin )this is responsible for that itchiness. You should cut the bottom or in sections and leave it in a bowl of water for a couple of hours and rinse it before use
Thank you so much! After failing my first treatment yesterday I just stumbled on your video. I was skeptical to use it because others complain about the itchness. For me it did just a little bit but afterwards my hair felt great.will start doing a leave in.
I pulse blend it with a hand blender.. (IN PULSES) you don’t want to make it too liquid. After it’s blended in a gel like consistency, you strain it through a knee high stocking to get those fibers out. I like to strain it twice. After that your gel is ready to put on your hair and it has so much slip I LOVE IT!!!! I leave it for 3 hours, but 1 hour will do. I like doing this on clean hair so I only have to rinse it off and I don’t strip the hair of that goodness. Rinse well and comb while rinsing with a fine tooth comb.
I had that issue when I would blend it but I just started to strain it twice (once with a regular strainer and then once more with like a cheese cloth or panty hose) omg perfect and I don’t waste much of the aloe which is even better and I don’t have to worry about the little bits
I only use aloe vera as a deep conditioning treatment once a week. I scoop out the gel from the leaf, then blend it in a blender, and finally strain it. Then I infuse it into my store bought deep conditioner. I leave that mixture in my head for 1 hour (20 minutes under a medium heated hooded dryer, 40 minutes out). Then I rinse my hair thoroughly with water. Then I proceed to style my hair with my leave in conditioner.
I cut my aloe vera in slices , take it off of the skin and squeeze it in the cullendar over a bowl, this takes a few hours to drain but worth it. God Bless
i boil my aloe vera in water then let it sit for some days and use it in a spray bottle like with rice water then I use a carrier oil (look it up) like rose ship, olive, and almond oil and heat it up then moisturize my hair and let it sit with a disposable shower cap on. I grew about 3-4 inches in a week and 1/2
@gfairbanks yes but i don't use shampoo I rinse mainly the hair part not my scalp. And when I finish rinsing it still has oil from the treatment which is the result I want. I would have done this on clean hair. And make sure to properly wash the aloe. Then I use chebe powder(pretty messy) to MAINTAIN the growth and chebe isn't for everyone bc the tribe that uses it keeps it in all day (which I do to only cause I don't have anywhere to be) but some people have to go places
@gfairbanks correction when I'm using RICE WATER I rinse it out (bc rice water has lots of protein and it's important to rinse it out) But with the aloe no I don't rinse it out the warm oil would make it feel moisterized and not wet it's not necessary to rinse it out
the melanin in your skin is beyondddd me, like whaaattttttttttt Lord Jesus God How you be coming up with such beautiful women. melanin girls have so much attraction in them it's crazy ha
I just made my aloe water and i decided to use it at night . Leave it overnight then wash it off in the morning . Im really excited , thanks for doing this video , its very informative . I feel more secure and ready to start the process .
I just started using aloe vera. The first time I blended it, and then strained it. This method was pure silk. The second time I used it, I was being lazy and I used it straight from the cut pieces. I found days later that my hair had tiny knots on my ends. So I will take my time and blend and strain the next time.
Just blend the Aloe in a blender. Add some water blend again then strain the mixture with a cheese cloth or stocking. This removes the particles. Store in a spray bottle in the fridge. I have not noticed an odor. Good for about 3 months in the fridge.
It's cheaper to buy 2 sieves, funnel, and toothbrush from the dollar store. I also brought 2 amber bottles off of Amazon for storage. Less light and oxygen the longer it lasts.
Mercy... your hair looks beautiful. Infact thank you so much for the update and encouragement..you made me take a step taking care of my hair ...l am working endlessly to achieve my hair goals..❤❤❤❤
That extra time you dont want to strain the aloe will be spent on picking the aloe flakes out your hair. I use a hand blender and strain the aloe with one of those black cloth hair bonnets you get from the hair supply. The bonnet strains your aloe and all that's left is the stuff that makes the flakes in your hair. and you can wash it out easily and reusable without wear and tear.
I'm finding that Aloe Vera is totally worth the hype. My hair is growing quicker than it ever has and I am well over 40 years of age. However, everything is not for everyone. I use the gel right out of the inside of the plant.
@@roywayne5025 I can tell you that the gel from the aloe vera leaf was all I used. I had a bald spot in my hair line that has filled in. I have experienced hair growth and strengthening all over. I use it as a pre shampoo. I take the gel from the leaf and put it in my hair. Cover the hair with a plastic cap for one hour. Then rinse out the gel and wash and condition hair as usual. I leave in the aloe for an hour because my hair grows thick. You can adjust the time if you need too.
1. Itch - soak the aloe Vera leaf so that yellow slime goes away = no itch 2. Smell - if using straight from leaf use straight away - no smell 3. Residue - scoop, lightly blend and strain
Blend and strain and for the itching lean it up big side down to drain out the yellow stuff \ latex or soak the leaf for 1 hour in water that's also to take out the latex , that is the stuff that itch .
Hi family, thanks for the amazing guideline about aloe vera juice....all because of that I've did some more research on aloe, studies has proved that it's really agave. Which is process from a relating leaf washed and sun dried until it's stingy like white strains of hair. It also makes rope and thread.... Now whenever I buy a weave or bundle of hair I will think of agave....which is also used to restore micro hair if our hair becomes too thin....Thanks for your time.
Furthermore I'd like to respond about itchy scalp. My usually itches when it's ready to be washed the alovera leaf has help to stop the itching I applied it before I lathered with shampoo... I'm also using a shea butter castor oil, & Doo grow stimulator, etc it more calm
To get rid of the smell you need to cut the bottom and submerge in water for at least 12 hours or if you can leave it 24 hours is even better. It needs to drain the yellowish substance it contains called Iodine which is very toxic. Try to change the water throughout because it will turn pink until it’s clear. Then the Aloe Vera is ready to use and it will have no smell at all 😁
I put it straight on my hair..no mixing or blending prior. Put a cap on..let it sit and then washed as usual. There was no residue or clumps sticking to my hair...I had no clue prior to watching your video that there could possibly be a problem. I have no clue why I didn't have this issue..but grateful nonetheless..☺
If you Rinse out the leaf, cut the desired piece, run it in water again then let it sit in water for another 5-10 minutes your skin or scalp shouldn’t itch after applying. It’s a little process but worth it. Gets rid of the bitter smell & taste
Aloe vera dries my hair like crisp. I love aloe vera but it doesn't love back. I tried many times but it never works.what a shame because it does have many benefits😢I'm so glad that your hair loves it.
Dana Wilson Same with me sis. 🙌🏾 I have low porosity hair, so I’ve since learned not to put aloe Vera, coconut oil or products with extra protein in it because I’m protein sensitive.
Dana Wilson you sure you have high porosity hair? Because you can also have medium porosity meaning not high or low but in the middle. If not then do more research and find what works for your hair because I’m sure your not the only one. Don’t feel discouraged. Best of luck 🤗
Thank you, Ms. Mercy for this informative video. However, I have a question. I work out a lot (3-5 times per week). I am in the sun almost every day. I keep my hair cut low. How often should I use the method you recommended? I wash my hair practically every night because I work out and it is cut low; I don't want it to itch and stink. Guidance, please. And again, thank you for this video.
Put it in a blender then put it in the fridge. The solid stuff rises to the top after a while and you can use that on your skin. Use the liquid below for the hair.
I use aloe juice. I purchase it from Walmart by the pharmacy or in natural food section. Has added so much moisture to my hair . Aloe is a game changer .
The aloe juice...wowo I wonder how it taste, did you taste it or just placed it on your hair? I was putting coconut oil on my hair and it broke my hair off. I had know idea I was protein sensitive.
She is beautiful, strain it first and put it in a mask with blender. Use only for heat treatment mask. Rinse and use again in 2 weeks. If you strain it and fridge it will last.
Hi Mercy do you think I could use aloe vera on my relaxed hair. My hair is thin and breaks easy, I dread wash day so much hair comes out. I am hoping aloe vera would help my hair. You explained everything very well. I really want to give it a go. What do you think.
Thank you so much for yur sharing n giving this fabulous info, Mercy. Been wearing natural hair via braids for long time. When I started with them my hair was braided with out added hair, had lots of hair then, been had added hair for years. Now trying to get my head of hair back, going to do lots of what u say. Subsrcibed, so now what? So, stay precious n caring, keep the good work up! Blessings to overtake and bring u further forward toward yur goals. Love , Safety, Peace, n Prosperity Pst Tilda K Martin , in His service Jesus!
Aloe Vera. Thank you for your video. I’ve been doing research, I have 2 plants in the refrigerator and now I feel more informed about do’s and don’t’s.
If people wouldn’t put the Aloe in the blinder it wouldn’t leave flakes, you have to split the aloe in half and just use the whole chunks then once you rinse the aloe chunks come out.
Ooh Girl. I wish I had watched this before I bought it. I haven’t used it yet but I am usually against any kind of food in my hair somehow I decided I wanted to give this a try, wish me luck.
Wendy Brown I had so many negative experiences with food in my hair. Eggs are great if you want to make an omelette in your hair and then eat it later, even with cold water there were still some weird chunky white things that were left in my hair. Banana caused a setback for me because of the amount of rinsing and combing I had to do to get all the strings out of my hair. Honey was just an icky gooey mess. I just gave up completely on food but happy ending! I tried Aloe vera - I didn’t blend it up or do anything fancy I just rubbed the cut up pieces in my hair and it was AMAZING!!! It made detangling my hair super easy, it made my hair feel soft and nice when rinsed out. Very minimal pieces left behind nothing significant - I was so happy it’s an actual staple product for my hair that I will always use now
I love aloe Vera 😍 but I use the one that comes in juice form 99% aloe Vera juice. I found it much easier than getting the plant. But I would love the actual plant to rub it against my hair & scalp as a pre poo.
Aloe vera..the way you inspire me ive decided to chop out my hair because I want that fresh and natural hair..thank you so much for the inspiration ❤❤❤
I just rub it all over my hair with Jamaican black castor and leave it in like a deep conditioner. Then shampoo & condition as normal. No chunks have ever been found in my hair from doing it that way. I picked this method up from a youtuber called Natasha Camille.
I was really happy about everything until, I remembered that you had a baby now I'm thinking maybe prenatal vitamins had something to do with it. My hair grew to the middle of my back during pregnancy fast. Then allowed someone to "trim" it, has never grew back to that legth since. I'm trying though🙏
- you’re supposed to strain it. Blend it thoroughly in a blender and whatever oils you want and then Strain it with either a cheesecloth or stockings or a wig cap (my preferred). If you do that you won’t have the pieces of aloe. I forgot to strain it ONE time and it was a nightmare but any other time i have no issues. 🤷🏽♂️
The itch is caused by the leaf or the dark green coat of the aloe vera. When we accidentally removed some of the juice or some part of the green coat when we extract aloe vera gel that gel will give you itch because it has mixed with some essence accidentally extracted from the green coat of the aloe vera.
Aloe vera! I love these videos. Do you know if there's a difference in the types of aloe plants? I have several, but the leaves are different from the ones you use. I've had decent results with mine, but I am thinking about buying one to compare.
I brought Bought al Vera At sprouts yesterday I'm going to give it a try.. keep me prayer want to watch video before I put in.. Do I put in my hair before I wash it and how long do I keep it in or do I put in my head after I wash my hair? How do I turn into oil tomorrow God-bless I would take any suggestions

You’re supposed to blend it then strain w/ a strainer and only apply the juice portion to avoid residue. There are many tutorials in reference.
I can I just mix it instead of blending it
I don't blend it, I cut in halves (then remove the skin). I cut the halves into smaller pieces so I can mash them with my masher. It retains its gel like texture better that way. I just blend my aloe vera and use a strainer to get rid of any unwanted particles.

Tal B you need a strainer that has a mesh lining also. Pieces can be strained out.

Naw, you just have a cheap blender. VITAMIX!!!
Tal B I peep that tbh but oh well. 😂😂

And do you apply it everyday
pro tip: if your aloe vera makes u itchy, it’s bc u have to cut open the aloe and leave the gel/juice alone for about an hour to let it oxidize
oh thank you. my baby scalp was itchy
Connie Edwards it’s better if you let the cut up aloe pieces sit out for an hour before you scoop the gel, hope this helps!
Thanks for the information. I thought it was an allergy.
When it comes to the itch... when someone cuts the aloe Vera it has a “yellow slime.” That yellow slime could cause the itch because it’s the plants normal defense when animals try to bite it. I believe if you let it sit in water for a day the water should turn yellow because the plant drained the yellow slime out
can you cut in then put it in water, or just put the whole thing in water before cutting?
@@corettaenabulele4441 You cut it and then put it in water.
Classy_D_Diamond I soak my aloe to get the sap out and I still itch, but my hair loves aloe so imma keep using it and spray peppermint and castor oil on my scalp to soothe the itch when it comes.. which is mainly I think when o get a sweaty scalp
My hair like it but my scalp doesn't...Even when I get rid of the sap...I decided to get in the powder(organic) and my scalp still itches😭
R&D E&JLee make sure your not putting it on your scalp just the hair only
Just put some aloe on my hair yesterday after washing it...was so pissed because of the residues ..spent hours taking them out..
You look so pretty..
Me sitting here watching this after i just blended the aloe vera en put it in my hair without seiving it 👁👄👁
😆😆 that was funny. Well call it maximum benefits!
😁 this made my day
😂😂😂 me too so funny
😂😂😂😂😂😂sorry just reading your comment right now its hilarious
Me too, i did that exatly
I let my aloe vera soak for a couple of hours or overnight to drain the yellow residue that you see after cutting it. Then I apply 2 sections of the soaked plant directly to my edges. I take any other pieces, that I plan on using and scoop out the aloe vera and blend it in the blender and then strain it, then I add to an application bottle and apply it to my hair. Soaking and or blending seems to prevent the white caky film from appearing on the hair. So far I haven’t had any flakes. 🤞
Thanks for the great info…
My hair loves Aloe Vera. Doesn't leave residue either..... I use it as a deep conditioner with heat......😍
I also live it on. I do not have this trouble.
I filter it through a stocking twice and leave it in
Does the aloe vera cause your scalp to itch?
Shilite Edwards I made the aloe and no it didn’t itch when I put it in my hair
@@Lite903 it causes my scalp to itch but my hair is so moisturized & defined...So now I just am very careful to just apply it to my hair😊
1. How many times per week is it ok to spray aloe vera juice on your hair
2. How long should you save your aloe vera juice for when you make it from scratch should it be a day, cpl days, a week or just for that time to be used.
3. Also if the aloe vera juice changes color is it still OK to use.
Thank you♥️ looking forward to a response.
Hiya
I love your videos ❤️. There’s one step you miss. When you cut the aloe Vera you will see that the leaf releases a yellowish substance( called Aloin )this is responsible for that itchiness. You should cut the bottom or in sections and leave it in a bowl of water for a couple of hours and rinse it before use
So true. Just rinse your cut pieces of aloe vera - I just do a quick rinse with distilled water 💧. And that removes the aloin.
Thank that is what i wanted to know
Thank you so much!

Queens just use a Walgreens nude knee highs stocking after blending in a blender to separate the gel from the pulp, then strain.
👍
It's cheaper to buy 2 sieves, funnel, and toothbrush from the dollar store. I also brought 2 amber bottles off of Amazon for storage. Less light and oxygen the longer it lasts.
I blend and strain before applying to hair so no little residue 😊. I also make a hair mask by adding green tea in it. Works wonders
Mercy... your hair looks beautiful.
Can you tell me what to do remove hair loss with aloe Vera alone are onion no blender
1. Itch - soak the aloe Vera leaf so that yellow slime goes away = no itch
2. Smell - if using straight from leaf use straight away - no smell
3. Residue - scoop, lightly blend and strain
I learned about Aloe Vera on this channel, I get excited when I see a video about Aloe Vera
Nurse Zee's Channel yes me too. Aloe Vera is beneficial all round. My dad used to make us eat it. It can be better❤️
me too😍and experiencing amazing results
Ditto
Blend and strain and for the itching lean it up big side down to drain out the yellow stuff \ latex or soak the leaf for 1 hour in water that's also to take out the latex , that is the stuff that itch .
Thank you for being here .I have watch your blog and now I have started my treatment . I put water in my treatment and it feels real good thank you .
Then the Aloe Vera is ready to use and it will have no smell at all 😁
I have just started using Aloe Vera this week, i cant wait to see the results
girl, thank you, my hair now is becoming softer and is not even coming out as before, thank you Mercy for your videos
OMG, when she pulled up that leaf from nowhere at 2:42 that scared the crap out of me
Haha

Hhaaahhaa sorry but that was funny though
This comment made me cry 😂😂😂

I put it straight on my hair..no mixing or blending prior. Put a cap on..let it sit and then washed as usual. There was no residue or clumps sticking to my hair...I had no clue prior to watching your video that there could possibly be a problem. I have no clue why I didn't have this issue..but grateful nonetheless..☺
I just finished applying Aloe vera to my hair with the long process.
Once it's in your hair how long do you leave it in?? Days?
Gabriela Alvarez nope just about 30 or 45 mins
@@pastelea420 thank you for replying!!
Poke the Aloe Vera with the comb. Thats what I do and I rinse it well with no flakes. Your hair is gorgeous.
Or you can just put it in a blender add a little water blend it down good strain it then put it in a spray bottle & just spray it on🤷♀️
If you Rinse out the leaf, cut the desired piece, run it in water again then let it sit in water for another 5-10 minutes your skin or scalp shouldn’t itch after applying. It’s a little process but worth it. Gets rid of the bitter smell & taste
Aloe vera dries my hair like crisp. I love aloe vera but it doesn't love back. I tried many times but it never works.what a shame because it does have many benefits😢I'm so glad that your hair loves it.
i have 4c hair and it make my hair dry and stiff .like a did a strong protein treatment.

Dana Wilson you sure you have high porosity hair? Because you can also have medium porosity meaning not high or low but in the middle. If not then do more research and find what works for your hair because I’m sure your not the only one. Don’t feel discouraged. Best of luck 🤗

Thank you for sharing this info. I love using aloe Vera in my hair. Yes, I would like to see more Aloe Vera videos. Particularly for using on my skin.
Hey love! After you blend it, get a stocking cap and use it the same as you would a the sifter! That way, you don't get any aloe chunks in your hair!
I had know idea I was protein sensitive.

michelle apple just in my hair. I’ve been using it over a year now.

I am a beginner and truly appreciate you Mercy. I am an Aloe Vera used now
You only get those pieces when you put it on dry hair. I put the aloe directly on my hair when wet with no issues.
Aloe Vera. Thank you for your video. I’ve been doing research, I have 2 plants in the refrigerator and now I feel more informed about do’s and don’t’s.
spoon the pulp out and grind it briefly in a food processor, then apply to your hair and scalp
Better results with flaxseeds. I use the aloe juices to boil the seeds. NO worries about the smell.
If people wouldn’t put the Aloe in the blinder it wouldn’t leave flakes, you have to split the aloe in half and just use the whole chunks then once you rinse the aloe chunks come out.
U can cut it up an put what u don't use in the freezer, don't throw away the ice water, use with juice🙋👌
Ooh Girl. I wish I had watched this before I bought it. I haven’t used it yet but I am usually against any kind of food in my hair somehow I decided I wanted to give this a try, wish me luck.
Why are you against food in your hair? We eat healthy diets for nutrition, so it figures but it’ll be great for her too.
I have micro Locs and I put aloe Vera in my hair every other day and it doesn’t flake or leave residue
I just rub it all over my hair with Jamaican black castor and leave it in like a deep conditioner. Then shampoo & condition as normal. No chunks have ever been found in my hair from doing it that way. I picked this method up from a youtuber called Natasha Camille.
Does it make ur hair longer please
@@giftifeanyi5589 sort of. It just hydrates your hair. But if your hair is more hydrated it’s less likely to break off. Thus, it’ll grow longer!
What is the best way to use aloe vera on short hair for hair growth? As leave in or spraying hair before or after washing and rinsing out? Thanks.
