The vertical energy retention is nuts on this plane. You can get in a 40 degree climb to get away from fighters and pull out 1-1.5km away from enemy still at 350kph+
That was the point of the hornet, it was an extremely fast, light and extremely agile fighter, it's portrayed as heavy in the game, but at low and high altitudes, with only 1 engine could outperform P51 and F4UCorsairs, this being often demonstrated in air shows
You know you're not out of their gun's range at 1km+? They can still snipe you at 1.5 km relatively easily, but most doesn't seem to try because it often wastes ammo if their guns are inaccurate.
151s don't go that far when you fly away from them I also take their angle into account when someone stalls without their nose on target you're also "out of range" To add to that, people won't hit those shots often
I remember having a fight against this bitch with Yak 9u and some squadmates on La9s. I firstly got trapped by a Hornet on a high altitude chase, when I realized what I was doing it was just too late and the Hornet turned back to dive on me. I could luckily overshoot it and back again, playing with patience. The chase started again, but I instead didn't follow the climb. The Hornet dived back into me and I could crit his left engine setting it afire. Then I could keep a 720kmh IAS dive speed on it and catched up. I ended up killing it. When I arrived to airfield I crashed on my gear. After taking down two P51H, a surprised Spitfire LFMk9 and a Hornet, the messages I got from my squadmates were "Haha you fucking noob l2p" and they instantly kicked me from the 4 person group. This community sucks ass.
something is wrong here - the DH Hornet was simply not a brick! Eric Brown listed it as his favourite aerobatic plane of the era - and his logbook lists the most types ever.
I would've beelined to that B29 that was going to space if I were there. If I'm alone against multiple opponents who I can't handle sometimes if there's a bomber I can reach I'll ask them in chat to gunship then drag the enemies over there. I've done that with a Tu-4 a few times before and it worked really well.
A Brick? That can't be correct, "it received high praise from its pilots, and even higher praise from Captain Eric "Winkle" Brown, one of the most accomplished test pilots in history." ua-cam.com/video/z8RMaEs6Npg/v-deo.html
It handles a lot nicer in sim. Very smooth, easy going, and turns well when you add rudder with your elevator input. It's like much faster, somewhat less turning British P-38J
Personally I really like the brigand with no ordinance, especially if you get put into a game vs German bombers as you are far faster, get a bomber air spawn and have the firepower to one pass them. I usually run universal or ground target belts.
Hey DEFYN, with all the discounts coming today I am looking to purchase a premium for Japan. I am looking at the Ki-100ii, the A7m1, and the Ki-61-1 hei tada. Which one would be the best buy?
I have a question, what should the dora have done? or was it a no chance scenario for him, if so what would his best action have been to force and error?
He can't really do anything other than hope I get greedy at that point I am faster and have a better climb with a pretty significant energy advantage while also being rather low on fuel compared to him. Best bet was trying to kill me as I overshoot but I made sure to keep my speed to extend a bit before going up to deny that. He was basically dead the moment i activated that avenger order unless he turned around and camped his airfield. He played it right for the most part, but he should've climbed more before we met each other
>flying a hornet >"Brick, boat, oil tanker" >Can't regain energy? So another British Aircraft that had been "balanced" by gajin to prevent it being able to do what it historically could?
Hornet doesn't *retain* energy well, but very good at regaining it (given enough patience). The whole video is about regaining energy against opponents w better retention.
@@CRL_One the point being whilst Gajin claims the game is historically accurate or realistic, they still create completely Ahistorical, fantasy versions of aircraft that are nothing like their real life counterparts. A lot of it, not even having anything to do with game balancing, because certain aircraft even at peak performance wouldn't affect overall balancing, they'd just be enjoyable enough that players would use them. Instead because of the way Gajin does things there will always be meta aircraft, and aircraft that are just completely unusable, which shouldn't be the case at all if things were handled properly
Finally someone who agrees with me the 152C is trash
75 kills and 10 deaths in it. I'm nowhere near the best by any measure, and I reckon its pretty good. I never turn if I can help it though.
literally the entire community
@Snapple127 I fly it like an Anton. Seems to work well for me.
It's a great example of how a terrible plane can do decently simply by getting an airspawn
And yet it costs as much to repair as an F-22...
And that's kill number 🌳
Shut
Lmao
the hornet is my fav plane to carry in. I feel like it's such an underestimated plane by most. The climb rate and airspawn are just too good.
Yes
Haha what's adam doing here in a AD2 lmao
Proving that attackers can be useful.
-He made a video on the AD2 a lil while back-
nvm it was an ad4 and it was over a year ago.
Ramming 2005s out of the air lol
Just doing his weird science experiments on poor axis fighter.
GG fighters... LOL =)

Adam just roasting and shaming the guys flying bombers lol
Damn, you make heavy fighters move and swing around like regular fighters! That's crazy

Jeez this is old footage... I remember this match lmao
To think we hace such thought processes silently during batle, almost subsconsciently is amazing
4 months later and you finally made that hornet vid
Seems like the Hornet Mk. 3 flies like a Mosquito Mk. IV, but even more to the extreme.
Good thought process throughout the battle. Love the video :)
This is my favourite brittish prop, thank you doof, very cool❤
Pros of the Hornet: fast as fuck horizontally, fast as fuck vertically
Cons of the Hornet: doesn't turn, doesn't roll
Really? Care to show the evidence that it couldn't turn or role?
You showed that its not the plane, but the pilot that matters. Twin engine vs single engine. Outstanding sir. Awsome vid.
Nice to see more Hornet action. A good plane (one of the best among 2-motors) that can always use more showcasing.
‘RuN fOr AiRfIeLd’ I think your team member is in the wrong game mode.
He is just following Gaijin's advice.

Yeah the model isn't that accurate, same with the mosquito. To be honest the hornet is borderline op as it is so
No worry, FW190 are also real bricks while in real life they were known to turn really hard (not as hard as Spitfire of course)
@@gliderfs621 at least in Sim you can pull much harder in the fw
Awesome video. I suck at props but I love learning.

That is very insightful
So in the end you were in fact "useful" and Adam was able to relax...Really enjoy your baiting skillz...
You can even fly biplane on 5.7 br when Your wingman is Adam 😂
yesss i love this plane

Woo! Digital Phalanx (-DPx-) represent!
Not anymore lol
Could you show some games with the tempest mk v?
i want to use it in tank RB for the AP rockets...........but the damn repair on it is not worth the hassle
Dorn-yay made me laugh just a bit
I love the hornet
The roll kills me
And the low speed handling
I wonder if it work same fight tehnic if was a stoke plane.

Adam in an AD-2? What kind of sorcery is this
is it a big diffrens between the premium Hornet and the mk.3 one??
This one has higher octane fuel which makes it have more power
The MK1 is slightly lighter because it carries less fuel

It's so broken. How do you counter it in a 152 or 109
Not giving up your energy, i did that in a Fw 190 and it worked

ayyy lmao actually first
Ayyyy
Bravo team! Great work!
U should try simulator the kills r way more satisfying
I played 3x as much simulators as i played war thunder. I have had enough of it
