- Thor: Love and Thunder was an extremely hyped movie which fans had long been awaiting. And yet despite all the hype it turned out to be nothing more than a cheap, mindless movie which pretty much ruined Thor's arc.

I actually enjoyed it upon my first watch but after watching this video and some others my like of the movie has been lost. I don't think it's as bad as Dark World or Eternals but it still was not as good as Thor 1(which i loved)

It's enjoyable and entertaining, but as the video says, it goes nowhere. It just felt like an excuse to have more Thor screen time. Thor didn't have any real development, the fights felt dull. Like why were both sides fighting? I'm not a fan of Taika Waititi but I still enjoyed more the third movie than the second one. But you could see how Taika Waititi was trying to get rid of everything the last director created at the expense of not making sense. All Thor's friends were killed off by Hella and Thor never mentioned them again, he lost all he cared about and he looked happier than when the Bifrost was destroyed in the first movie. I get that Taika is trying to humanize him but Thor is not a normal person, he's a god.
Only good thing to come out of the movie was the new powerscaling and seeing the "jane foster will replace thor wahh woke disney m she u" mob on hush mode
Yea the power scaling is definitely some nice shit. And ur right, Disney acc caught a rare W in silencing the woke bs and making Jane feel more like an actual character rather than a device for the feminists

It was 4 hour long but Disney cut it down to 2 hours and og post credit scene was we getting a glimpse of old thor v galactus
And gorr actually have many brutal scene slaughtering god's acc to Christian bale
But instead of justifieng his title Disney is interested to turn him into a guy who kidnaps 7 year old kids
Well they heavily nerfed Gorr,and except that moon feat there isn't any good feats for Thor,I atleast hoped him to unlock Odinforce

I enjoyed the movie on my first watch, but after watching reviews, rereading the god-butcher Thor comics and thinking back this was not a good movie.

L. Thor has a clear character arc. The film is about the power of love and Thor goes from having no purpose in life due to feeling empty to accepting love with Jane despite the fact he will lose it anyway
Honestly. No Way Home was the last project I was interested in and was the point in which I jumped ship.

Well it didn’t exactly upscale him, but it certainly gave us loadsa supporting feats to keep Thor’s star-solar system level scaling consistent.

Before whiching the movie I was thinking thor would get the Odin force in this movie and would get so close to defeat and dieing and that gorr was so op he would have to go all out full all father to kill and defeat gorr like he did to destroy mjolinr in that god of hammers story all I knew I was over rating gorr he was called an god killer yet he was beening over whelmed where he was posted to have nearly unlimited power he was beening overwhelmed buy Mighty thor , thor odinson and valkyrie 🤦🏼🤦🏼 in every thor movie since the original one every bad guy thor battles is more powerful then the last but gorr is an disappointment he is the first thor villain to be weaker then the last villain in the previous movie hela was an beast an unstable Uru destroying powerhouse thor , valkyrie, hulk couldn’t dream to beat her gorr on the other hand lost to thor , mighty Thor *Jane Foster* with mjolinr with it she has thors powers pre awakening his full potential * and she buy her self was beating gorr bad on her own that wouldn’t happen happened with hela that’s for sure hela beat up on both pre awakened and awakened Thor with ease 👀 . In my opinion it was alright, but i feel like it was far to silly, Christian Bale's character was the best part in my opinion.
Yea Gorr wasn’t too bad. He had scary elements and did feel threatening at times, and I’m sure Christian bale did a good job. His character was just too underdeveloped, and that’s all thanks to the script
I agree with everything said in this video. This movie had so much potential but was wasted. Honestly, many phase 4 movies feel rushed and it now seems that marvel is definitely leaning more towards quantity over quality and it seems like marvel is going to keep it that way based of what we were told for phase 5. I’m also frustrated that they killed off Gorr who is played by Christian Bale himself.
With Thor still recovering, both physically and mentally from the events of endgame and ragnorok, Gorr, one of the best comic book villains played by a very talented actor, and mjolnir returning which lead to many interesting theory’s, I think it’s fair to have high expectations for this movie as it easily could have had am interesting and compelling storyline, an amazing character arc for Thor and an interesting and powerful villain. But nope. Marvel completely blew it.
I will also comment that ever since endgame, the MCU doesn’t feel connected anymore the way it did in phase 1-3. It just feels like each movie is kinda it’s own thing and I’m sure that it’s partly due to the amount of marvel projects released per year which is why everything is so rushed.
However I will still give credit to the actors for giving it their all. They still did a great job playing their part. And at least we did get some a few good phase 4 movies such as Shang Chi and No Way Home and some of the shows as well. At least in my opinion.
Absolutely. Phase 4 has made it abundantly clear that marvel is just going for quantity over quality now; they've literally released so much content that I can't even keep up with it. I hadn't even realise that hawkeye and ms marvel had started streaming when they were first dropped, and I still haven't found myself interested enough to watch them. The same goes for she hulk, the story just looks so dull and boring and the cgi is known for being shit.
It's come to a point where I'm wondering whether or not they're unsure of what to do or not. With stuff like I am groot and the marvels being set for future releases, what are they even aiming for? The kang dynasty? Yeah bun that, Kang seems as uninteresting as secret wars does.
Phase 4 has definitely given us some bangers (NWH, doctor strange 2, moon knight, loki, wandavision, shang chi were all good) but the overall direction marvel is taking their verse is something I've been concerned for time now, not to mention that the majority of their movies/shows have either been mid or trash

Not interested in it at all. Honestly ever since endgame marvel's just become less and less interesting to me; I no longer feel that sense of excitement and build-up like there was in the previous movies.
And people have the nerve to say that the multiverse saga will be better than the infinity saga, after marvel have given us eternals, black widow, a bunch of mid disney+ shows, and now thor 4.

@@fireboy1301 yea I agree phase 4 has definitely had some bangers (NWH, Doctor strange 2, moon knight, and wandavision were all great) but most of their content has either been bad, forgettable, or just mid. And it’s mostly the Disney+ shows; a lot of them just don’t seem that interesting which is why I haven’t bothered to see Hawkeye or ms marvel. Same goes for she hulk, I am groot, the marvels, and even the new avengers movies just seem so uninteresting to me.
It also doesn’t help that Disney basically spammed 7 movies and 10 TV shows all in a span of just two years. It’s just too much, and they really need to slow down a little in order to keep everyone on track

@@thefilmwatcher1302 well if that’s what you got from the movie then that’s great for you. I just personally felt nothing for them both in the old movies and this one. And what makes it worse is the fact that this is the first time they’re seeing each other in over 7 years, and Jane is now a female copy of Thor himself - with his old, seemingly destroyed hammer in hand. And yet their meet up scene is just played for laughs.
If you enjoyed it that’s great man, I’m glad u did. I just felt very disappointed coming out of it and honestly didn’t give a shit about anything in the movie
