    Thanks Richy. Lovely to see Kathmandu. Lots changed since the quakes but still amazing. Watching your videos is like taking a walk with you. 100% don’t look em in the eye and keep walking. It feels really rude but trying to scam people is rude so fairs fair. You are always polite and respectful. But it’s ok not to even notice them. The word ‘ chello’ in Hindi means ‘go away’ if things get tricky . I used to keep a bit of small change in my pockets for beggars etc. There used to be leppers- and lots of homeless kids. I hope that’s changed. Nepalis are bloody lovely folk mind esp out of the cities in the mountains. 49:43 I visited freak street in 89 . Blew my mind! Keep doing what you do .

    If you go to India you will see professional hasselers (taxi drivers, people selling tours and shop owners).
    These guys just follow you everywhere, they even wait outside restaurants and follow you and harass you, even if you tell them 1,000 times you don't want it.

    ridiculous ticket price and museum ticket not included. You can see the whole arena by just going around. 1000 Rupees ridiculous . We the locals just go through free. Feel like earned 1000 rupees everyday without a sweat. I live nearby and pass through Kathmandu durbar square every day. its a pure tourist scam and government is doing it 30 rupees for locals to enter the museum and 300 for tourist . That means 1300 total for tourist . That open curio shop area is not accessible without ticket but you wisely got there from little alleyway behind.

      For me putting price is giving the value for the heritage,and ticket system for heritage sites is all around the world. It's not just in Nepal even there are more expensive tickets on heritage sites of other countries. So i don't think it's a scam. Also there are so much to renovated after earthquake so this money goes for renovation too.And may be it's just a normal thing for you because you are living on that area but it's a historical place and it should and has more value. It should be preserve, it should be maintained, it should have some value, may be price is too high, they can lower the price like rs 500 for tourist but ticket system is much needed. I also wish to have ticket even for local people at least like 100rs so that people should understand the value of that place. I don't like people sitting on the temple area like some chilling area. There are sitting area too they can sit on those place but not the temple area. If putting tickets is done then may be it will be reduce.

    • @gyaanchandraashakya4018
      @gyaanchandraashakya4018 Місяць тому +1

      @@preety8651 yeah. ticket for locals is out of question . In my childhood no ticket for tourist either. Entire fee goes for corruption and expenses for maintenance is acquuired from government . Its been almost a decade since the earthquake and they are still reconstructing to milk the budget.

    • @preety8651
      @preety8651 Місяць тому

      @@gyaanchandraashakya4018 About corruption may be yes may be no. But there are so many things happens in the Kathmandu durbar square, like there is renovation happening, there is Kumari living and so many different functions happened during different time and all the security and other workers are there for work. So I don't think money is not doing any help on that. But as I said they can lower the prices. But ticket system must be there. It's a heritage sites and it must have some value compare to other places.
