But how did he tape the poster back up over the hole after he crawled through it? That was always my problem.
@@Room-xi6nb Easy. You only untape one side. Bottom, top, side, doesn't matter. You then crawl in, reach behind you, and pull it back into the wall, effectively retaping it.

The Green Mile honest trailer should have this joke: "When Stephen King and Frank Darabont lost the oscar to Forrest Gump, they cast Forrest Gump himself. Cuz if you can't beat him, join him".
I went looking for the Green Mile honest trailer and couldn't find it :-( so I watched the Frankie Boyle Green Mile sketch instead

"Brooks and Done" simultaneously made me laugh and hurt from remembering that whole sequence leading to his suicide
Interesting tidbit: The room they used to film that "apartment" where Brooks stayed was actually an office inside the real prison they shot at. A bit of meta-symbolism that Brooksie never made it out of prison.
I was afraid that joke would be overlooked, because I can't imagine too many Honest Trailer fans are also familiar with 90's era country music duos.

They showed much respect for A Muppet Christmas Carole.
They did one for that one movie? One of my all time faves
They were beaten by Logan. Even when they called in Deadpool to riff on it he refused because it's just too damn good.
Brooks was such a lovely character
Greatest movie of all time. Infinitely rewatchable. It doesn't have a complex plot, it doesn't have explosions and w.e. Yet it grabs your attention from the beginning, and lets you go at the end filled with positive emotions. It is what cinema is supposed to be. A perfect movie.

Funnily enough I saw forest gump exactly once when I was 20( 36 now), was like meh. Then watch Shawshank a year or two later and loved it and watched it loads, and for the irony I rewatched it asap after being inside for a month 😀

This movie is a perfect example of how talented a writer Stephen King is. His real gems are the many short stories he wrote that are far different than the "horror" genre he is known for.
Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is worth a read. It's one of Stephen King's best short stories. And Morgan Freeman is so good and that baritone voice is so soothing, you almost forget that Red killed his wife on purpose for the insurance money.
Different Seasons is (IMO) King's best. Also has "The Body" (Stand by Me), "Apt Pupil", and "The Breathing Method".
I didn't even know this was a Stephen King story. That guy is truly gifted, for real. I thought this and the Green Mile were two of the best films I ever saw, go figure they were both written by the same guy, without even ripping each other off.
The movie was originally gonna have Rita Hayworth in it but they feared people would think it was a biopic of Rita Hayworth

Watched it for the first time 2 weeks ago. I loved it.
What I did was show it to my friends and look at their reaction. They thanked me for showing it to them. That's how good this movie is
I made my bf watch it for the first time, and he has such expressive reactions to movies in general. It was like seeing the movie again for the first time.

@@Simbabweman though in the movie there are birds who "rather be caged". Brooks, who live his life inside prison that he can't survive outside world, and his pet crow, who also can't survive the outside world after Brooks set it free (they found it dead when they're working the field)

For people who don't know; morgan freeman's character is a ginger irishman in the book. The scene where andy asks "why they call him red" and he replies "maybe its cos i'm irish" is a nod to the book.
That line confused me for years until i asked google, which is know to locate certain tjings from time to time

I loved this movie. Amazingly made and acted, awe inspiring and heart wrenching. The Green Mile and this movie stands tall next to each other.
I’ve seen this movie a thousand times, I’m practically legally obligated to sit down and watch it every time someone speaks its title, but I never made the “shitty pipe dream” connection until now.

Fantastic movie. Glad to see it exposed to a big audience again: those of you who go check it out for the first time are in for a treat.
I actually saw in in theatres for the original release...by accident. And I was the only one in the room. Still one of the best theatre experiences I ever had.
