Karon, one of the most ferocious creature to ever have flown the skies, is a wyvern dragon that lives deep within Stygaea. He is a legendary mount and requires high skill and strength to tame. He is the hardest creature I have ever attempted taming within Riders of Icarus.

Oh, so Kaldorei is nice to people from his own server, but kills others as soon as he sees them and continues to act immature and annoying after I kindly asked him to leave me alone? 😒 Jeez.
For those who are playing this game as well and want to take this beast, have some tips:
1) Karon has a 20% less taming chance debuff. You can get rid of this by wearing Complex Slayer armour.
2) Make sure you have all the taming buffs that you can get your hands on.
3) Be extremely careful around other players. On the European servers, there is a lot of competition for this guy and people WILL kill you.
4) Don't fight Karon with your mount or pet. He takes their energy and uses it for his HP.
5) Karon is really tough to tame, and he has a 60% chance of spawning untameable. You need A LOT of patience if you want to tame him.

Also, in addition to what Robin said, The best way to fight Karon Off-mount is by getting his attention and then luring him to one of the platforms around his nest. From there you can fight him while standing on the ground!

When you say "takes their energy and uses it for his HP", does that mean that he slowly drains their energy faster and heals or that he regenerates some health each time he lands a hit? How does it work?
@@themockingdragon135 Your Familiar's energy will go down very quickly and Karon will simply be more difficult to kill. He'll have more defence.

As soon as I saw Karon for the first time (which wasn't long after I started), I knew that I wanted him the most out of all of the mounts in Riders.
So, over the course of two months, I made my Guardian stronger and stronger, till eventually I was soloing him. (I tried to attempt him when player counts were low most of the time, to avoid getting interrupted by others. Got lucky a few times.) Took me 8 attempts to finally get my hands on this beast (Didn't ever get a Fated Mark until after I tamed him, and never managed to get my hands on the Complex Slayer Armor), and two months later I still consider him to be the crown jewel of my familiar collection, even among mounts like Benotien and Ahnturagen.
Named him Ancalagon.

So I got 2 marks for him for FREE...And now I know why...
The game knows exactly that I will never tame him after 2 attempts...And I'm literally to afraid to go to Stygaea.
If you need a buddy to help, feel free to ask. My Guardian on Akaldus can solo Karon. I also have one on Koroshimo, but I don't have full Temmajin gear on that one yet.

Not to be rude or anything but didn't you get the achievement that gives you a guaranteed tame? Or is that only for the lower leveled heroics?
The Untamable achievements for legendary familiars don't give you fated marks. As stupid as it is, only the heroics give you the fated marks. There's only three Legendaries that give you a fated mark, which is Soluna and both Antares.

Witcher 3 soundtrack?
I've always wanted to tame Karon in my little collection of familiars but I was very intimidated by how sinister he looked but that only made me want to get the mighty beast a lot more, I'm only a level 61 Guardian in my group since both of my friends play as both a healer and a ranger but hopefully I'll feel confident enough to go into battle with Karon along with my friends once we are all on the same higher level as each other

Where to find Complex Familiar Orb? thank you
It can be crafted with Barder Crafting after learning the recipe. Drops from level 50+ World Bosses , Legendary dungeons, Familiar Adventures , Ellora's spire lucky boxes etc..
i lost my level 65 account during the migration and has to restart and i’m back up to level 37 i think and i got a fated karon mark, does that mean once i get on him he is tamed?
Gamer Shadow i’m currently level 56 at the moment with around 43k health, i can survive a few of his attacks, but i do have to keep a distance, thanks for ur advice tho x
@@rinstogeasf9784 Make sure to work on your defense stats as well. You can have lots of HP, but if you don't have defense, you'll still die very quickly. Make sure to be equipped in Legendary gear (Alsacian or Temmajin is preferred) and use tempering stones on them to increase their protection!
Robin DRAGONS thank you! i was able to reach lvl 61, and i’ve just been focusing on dps, i’ll make sure to also start working on defence, i’m currently working towards lvl 65 to equip temmajin armour, what seals would you say are best for a very poor character ahaha
@@rinstogeasf9784 Depends on your class. For magic classes, seals that give overall attack or intelligence is good, for physical classes also overall attack and strength. Tishanan, Aidus and Torkai are good seals, Antares, Ancient familiars and Soluna would be the best without having to spend money, but those are endgame mounts. Difficult to tame and expensive on the marketplace.
SimpleStar do you have any tips on how to get money quickly? for example i know that tomb gives of quite a bit, but i have nobody to do it with ahaha, and i’m lvl 65 at my moment without selling things as i literally have nothing to sell ahaha, but thank you for the tips, i currently on have 2 torkais and non of the rest, i’ve sealed both and put them towards my armour, cause torkais an easy mount, so i’ll carry on doin that

Unlike most old beta players i never left icarus and soloed tamed karon with 2 tries and killed you and your friends from koro your poser Kaldorei that baits new poor noob players in pvp to kill its sad ,Bad idea to praise Kaldorei in all eu servers he made a bad name for himself.
I agree on Kaldorei's attitude. He's annoying to be against, but as seen in the video, very helpful if he's on your team. He once offered to help me tame Karon as well, I believe not long after this video came out. He was holding everyone off by guarding the narrow entrance to the nest. Sadly I couldn't log in at that time. I'm from Akaldus, so him agreeing to help me was... unusual, to say the least.

Im happy to left shit nexon and valofe and moved to divine icarus and we can get mounts without taming by opening boxes and getting crescent and there isnt pay to win for mounts u can tame wrath wyrm aschente or nebula in game with marks u should look at that server too silver

Lol illegal? For years this server is there and they do so much better than roi and gms are 7/24 online at discord to help players and do better events and if you are looking for illegal server it's official Icarus pay 30 euro each magic dragon and be unkillable at game
@@SilverWillowWing Coming back to this vid, since it's awesome and I'm happy to inform you that the "private" servers Divine and Project Icarus are not illegal. They are free to download, they have their own discord servers etc. Valofe doesn't like people to know about them in fear that they'll lose players. And that fear is justified since a lot of previous Nexon/Valofe players have moved, especially since Valofe took over and made the game more pay to win. The private servers don't have that, which is why many players prefer them. Valofe also puts more into advertising, so Riders of Icarus pops up first when you Google the Icarus games.

Not for Legendary Familiars, including Karon. You get a regular mark. Anyone that plays Icarus knows XD.
