Purchasing the EE 5 was a big decision with a lot of research involved. Buying a $5000+ motorcycle for your kids isn't something that you should just "go and do" without first ensuring they're ready for it and they'll in fact use it to ensure you get value out of your purchase. Let me help you learn a bit more about this groundbreaking motorcycle for kids aged 3-8 and one that in my opinion, breaks the mold and will revolutionize the off road motorcycle industry.

I’m the guy that commented that “ I have no interest in electric motorcycles or cars” very informative and well thought through to purchase this for your son. Might have to re consider where electric is going. No bap, bap, bap of sound it hard to get past.
I appreciate that, and I was that way too until it comes down to what this bike can do for your kids. I have my fair share of braap in the stable still when we need that, so keeping a blend is still important. It’ll be a long time before we have a majority of electric for bikes as the run time will be the factor most will need. Race bikes will be first, but trail bikes might take a very long time to become realistic
We recently got one! My son is 5 & We put a lowering kit on it! He’s doing so good on it!

Nice video! I’m curious what are you thinking of the new SX E2? I ordered one for my 4 y/o to learn on, it seems like an electric replacement of the PW. I wonder if it would be possible for him to stay on the E2 for some years and then jump up to the E5.

Thanks for creating this video. My 5 year old son is racing the Tyke category vs mostly PW 50s with his Oset MX 10 electric bike. I purchased the EE 5 during the winter to get ahead of the long waiting list I figured would kick in around March. It is sitting in our house (his Tyke division does not allow KTMs, Husky’s etc as those are for the 50 cc division) but I think my son is ready to ride it once I figure out if the lowest default height is good enough for how tall he is now (starting to outgrow the Oset MX 10). He has been asking daily if we can take out the EE-5 to a track. Hopefully I don’t have to get the lowering kit.
Thanks for watching! That’s what I was hoping to achieve with creating these videos as these are amazing bikes. I have ours on the lowest setting in stock form, but further lowering can be accomplished by purchasing the lowering kit, which will make it low enough for a pw rider. Now that my boy is on the EE, I feel the PW50 was almost potentially dangerous because of how hard he was pushing it to make it do what he wanted it to do. Minimal suspension, minimal power, and low ride heights all created roadblocks to him learning the proper technique
@@John5XR I definitely know what you mean. I see all these kids pushing the limits of the PW 50s, in fact I was impressed how much abuse the PW could take off of jumps, but you could always hear the rear suspension bottoming out when the few 5 year olds can clear the table tops. I had thought that the Oset MX 10 could out run the PW 50s, but the top speed of the OSET is less than the PW 50 so I have been working with my son to utilize the torque on tighter turns and more efficient lines. Great opportunity for my son to work on his skills vs. relying on top end speed. He is asking me everyday if he can take out the EE 5, will do the same adjustments you did for your son (who is taller than my son). Let me know if you start a Patreon and I will join for sure. Off to the races today, Motopark, Ontario, Canada, Tykes race tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.. I hope that Husqvarna creates a bike with swappable batteries. I have my son warm up with his Oset MX 10 on the race track for about 30 minutes on an older battery, then I swap out the battery and let the motor cool down before they do a warm up moto. Swaps take me 3 minutes to do. Race season runs into mid October up here in Canada, so I will have to think about voltage sag with the colder temps. Good thing my Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a plug in Hybrid and has 2 x 1500 watt outlets and 50 ah on tap or Gas to recharge the house battery. I look forward to your next videos.
Would you happen to know how many teeth the stock rear sprocket has? I'm thinking it is 48 teeth. Trying to source parts to build a dedicated sand wheel.

@@John5XR thanks brotha no worries. Stock is 46T. I ended up putting together a dedicated sand wheel at 48T. The faster kids are all on 50T with the chain extender.

What kind of run times are you getting?
We stick to mode 3 on our home tracks as they’re small. We can get about 45 minutes or more on 3. We raced it this past weekend on a full sized MX track on mode 5 (fastest, but without regen braking) and it only used between 30-50% of the full charge. Essentially it works like this:
Mode 1 (slow): probably all day
Mode 2 (backyard speed): a few hours
Mode 3: 45 minutes to an hour riding at speed
Mode 4: not sure, never used it
Mode 5: designed for racing, which are from 10-25 minutes. I’d say 30-minutes if not wet and muddy
@@John5XR on our particular race day we race, 10 mins practice, 10 mins qualifying, and 2 races at 12mins plus 2 laps each (roughly 15mins on the track each race). on the fastest mode, would the battery last for our full race day, 50 mins total ?
@@garethcrothers7989 for my son we have 3 x practice lap sessions on the main adult track and then 3 x race motos. I charge the bike in between each session. I charge the bike from my plug in hybrid Mitsubishi SUV from the 1500 watt outlets of my car with the bike resting on a switch hauler from my hitch. The new Anker 755 portable battery can charge this bike and a Tesla with a grounded adapter. I was able to charge the EE 5 with the Go Sun 1200 portable battery while the bike was at rest but would surge past 1200 watts right after a heavy moto. So I think the Anker is a great option for charging on the side of the track. The Anker battery also charges to 80 percent in 1 hour via 120 volt outlet or solar panels. It is 1200 wh total or so, the EE 5 battery is 907 wh.
