    So if you're following my Husqvarna EE5 content, you already know that I think this is one of the most amazing bikes made so far, and I highly recommend it for just about everything that we do back in Florida. BUT! Does this bike stand up to more extreme riding conditions than Florida offers? Like, will it handle going through the mountains of NY/PA in the mud, rocks, water crossings, hills, obstacles, etc? That's what we find out in this video. I think you'll know my thoughts already!
    Hope you like the video. If you do, please comment/like/share/subscribe and I'd appreciate you helping to build my channel. I also have a blog where I discuss these projects and go deeper into discussion on the bikes and gear I cover in the videos. Also.... DISCOUNT CODES FOR SOME PRETTY AMAZING MOTORCYCLE SHOPS! So, it's worth checking out!

    Thanks for watching as always, hope you enjoyed the content!

      I love my two strokes, but this bike is so amazing and capable it makes me want a full size version

      @@John5XR KTM make the e-xc which is around £10,500 ($14,500) excluding the power pack and charger so still not cheap enough for me yet.

      Is that the freeride? We have one here that’s electric and it’s called the freeride, but it’s not necessarily track capable

      @@John5XR yes, think it’s called the freeride. I’m not needing anything fully track capable. Green lanes and trails is all I need.

    My biggest concern is washing after my son races how do you wash it ? Power wash ?

    • @John5XR
      @John5XR  2 роки тому

      Definitely washable, I even talked to Husqvarna about it and they specified only to not direct the pressure washer jet directly on any electrical connectors by the motor, throttle, and mode selector. I put a ziplock bag over the throttle and mode selector when I wash mine, but otherwise wash it in the same way I do any of my other bikes

    What kind of range do you get on a ride like this??

    • @John5XR
      @John5XR  2 роки тому +1

      We rode for hours on one charge. Set on ride mode 3, mostly part throttle, and decent dirt will yield really good range

    Loving your videos, but what do you think about electric motorcycles? They don’t make that nice rumbling sound so where’s the fun.

      Thanks for watching and your feedback! As a parent with a kid in the middle of the“fast 50” stage, the electric bike is perfect. No maintenance, ride anywhere, anytime, and selectable speed modes to match the environment you’re in. For a full size bike, this is trickier. I think electric will become prevalent first for track (race) bikes as the average person normally doesn’t spend more than a half hour out on the track in one stint. But for trail riding and where longer distances are going to be covered, the batteries will have to provide more capacity, which will make the bikes heavier, but that’s probably ok for trail bikes. The sound is one of the fun things of course, and it would be strange to not have it at a track, however tracks are severely limited on where they can be because of sound, so perhaps it will open up more riding opportunities closer to city centers and bring the hobby to a new audience. Also, treading silently through the woods is universally accepted for mountain bikes, but not so much for motorcycles. The same sentiment about opening up more riding opportunities will remain true for trails as well. While the sound will be missed, the vast increase of places to ride will offset this loss in my opinion
