    Ordered a low profile drip tray, springs, one hole tip. Will see if it's really needed :) But first, let me know if you want me to do a side by side comparison of Espresso with the Ascaso Dream PID (it is adjusted to 9 bar pressure)

    Great video very well produced! thanks for the insight - this is an amazing little espresso machine that makes pro barista style drinks with a little practice

    Just got one and finally getting silly milk. I’m not doing great with my shots when I grind my beans. I use the fellows opus and have a medium to dark roast.
    Still working on it.

      I've recorded my failed milk session today 😄 You're using a fine "internal" adjustments on Opus, right? Also, I highly recommend using WDT (needles). It'll make a coffee puck preparation way more stable

      @kellydoeslife Місяць тому

      @ oh I do use the internal adjustments. I am testing my grind doing a couple of beans first to make sure the grind is fine. Funnily enough today I dialed in as the experts say. My shot was pretty good. I usually so 18g in, today I did 20g and the excess water on the cake was not there. Using the portafilters supplied with the machine.
      My was good but I was making two coffees and only one got the foam. Not sure how to spread that.
      Oh I went all in I have the needles, the leveller, spring tamp. I invested.

    I bought the Gaggia Classic Pro E24 and got pregrounded coffee (Illy Classico which I've seen being used in many tutorials) with the pressurized basket until I get a grinder but my used coffee is wet and can't get out of the basket easily. I think I'm doing everything right, I even measured 18g coffee. The ESE pods run very slowly on the other hand and sometimes when I stop the brewing there is a splash of water. Any suggestions?

      @wendstudio_coffee  19 днів тому

      As for the splash of water - it's a back flush, it should be like that. The tube goes to the drip tray to minimize the splash.
      Preground coffee - you can use less coffee to adjust the resistance.
      Also, you filled the boiler and ran the water through the group (full tank) and steam wand? To clean it and make sure there is no air inside :)

      @wendstudio_coffee thanks for answering!
      For the splash: I've installed the tube going to the drip tray. I can hear it. But sometimes when the splash I'm talking about happens it's everywhere. It even burnt me once.
      Yes, I did the water thank thing after unboxing. The ESE pods continue to run hardly in the single basket and the pre ground coffee runs fast and the puck is too wet in the pressurized basket with the plastic thingy 😢 What am I doing wrong?

    • @wendstudio_coffee
      @wendstudio_coffee  17 днів тому

      @Skynomad22 nothing is wrong) splash is fine. The pressure in the group is just too big and it's released with the higher pressure.
      I haven't used a pressurized basket. Play with the dose and try to tamp it

      Tested pressurized basket today. 15-16g dose is possible. With big grind size - it'll flow very fast. Shot 1:3 (45-55g out) in around 13 seconds. Relatively drinkable. For specialty coffee - even better.
      When trying a smaller grind size, freshly ground - it took 37 seconds to run a 15g shot. Super nice result. Could have used around 12g dose to get espresso shot (24g out) with this grind size.

    Have the e24. Water seems to stream out faster of my machine and less like rain. Any ideas why that might be the case? I’m in Canada and was told it came with 9bar pressure. Also when I pull a shot the espresso doesn’t always flow smoothly out but rather kinda sporadic. I have overall good puck prep I think.

    • @wendstudio_coffee
      @wendstudio_coffee  Місяць тому +1

      Try using a stopwatch. It is pretty fast, around 8 g per second. As for the flow - what's the coffee freshness? I'm currently tried only not older than 15 days or so. But where pressure is involved, there are a lot of things that can go wrong

    • @wendstudio_coffee
      @wendstudio_coffee  Місяць тому +2

      About the puck preparation, I suggest paying attention on how you tap the coffee after using WDT. I'm using a vertical tap, not on the side of the table.
      Also, if there is not enough CO2 gas in coffee, it potentially could start slowly and then - increase the speed.
      Crema color is good? Is there enough foam? Is the grinder pretty consistent? The group doesn't produce steam? Try running a little bit of water before inserting portafilter just to know it's fine and not overheating.
      Is the dose properly selected for the basket?
      I would try a paper filter at the top of a coffee puck. But it's interesting, why it's not raining 🤔

      @TysonBrandow Місяць тому

      Thank you for the reply and for the tips. Yeah it’s odd. I’ve been good with back flushing and cleaning. Crema looks good and coffee tastes quite good to my very limited pallet.
      The coffee could very well be the issue. I did notice today it starts slowly and then almost starts to drop from the portafilter in clumps of crema and coffee… dose is correct and I always time timer. Usually 2.5x dose for medium/dark roast.. so 12g (plus puck screen) with 30g out. This takes just a hair over 30 seconds.

      @TysonBrandow I probably will try to adjust for a shorter shot. Like 25-28 seconds. Coffee could be too fresh?)
