My childhood best friend literally destroyed his life with booze and alcohol starting in high school. He put himself through detox about the time I got my discharge from the USAF, and I really thought he was gonna make it. Unfortunately, he relapsed hard, and some years later, in a stoned stupor, he fell from an elevated train platform in our hometown and got hit by an incoming commuter train.
That was several decades ago. He survived, but he's been paralyzed from the chest down ever since.
My own life hasn't exactly been a rose garden (though I've never suffered from substance abuse issues), and we haven't had contact since his parents died.
His younger sister just died about 2 weeks ago, and (from what I've heard) he's become morbidly obese and bed-ridden.
I'm busy trying to straighten out my own life, but I think of him from time to time and I continue to hope he finally turns his life around.

JD your a legend. I usually just watch, but I wanted to say what you are doing is phenomenal work and a very valuable service to your community.
I've dealt with depression and then addiction throughout my life; never had the resources to pursue professional help.
At the start of the year I wanted to go to rehab for meth but it turns out rehabs either really expensive or hard to get into. So I've been dealing with it on my own which is a very wonky and hard to follow path.. I feel out of control of my actions honestly.
It's incredibly heartwarming to feel your empathy towards people in situations you have gotten yourself through. I watch channels like this to remind myself that there's always a chance of life returning to "normal" one day maybe..
Keep doing your stuff, your a really good and genuine person.

Addiction is no fucking joke. I had a friend who ended up getting hooked on meth after I had left for basic. He ended up doing a dime across various prisons across the country, ending up at home in Phoenix Az. He came out clean on meth, but ended up with a heroin addiction. I pulled his paperwork while I was working in the prison system, and he wasn't exactly a good boy either. He was the one that hid shit in his cell, tattoo ink, drugs, needles, shanks. You name it he had it on his paperwork. Before his OD, several years later, myself ended up on a pain pill addiction. My fuckin doctor was my dealer. He didn't send me off to PT, I didn't know any better, he wrote up them scripts for me. 8 years of my life in a haze basically from percocet, morphine, and dilaudid. I was able to finally say enough is enough, and it took time, I had to cold turkey that shit. Hardest thing in my life. My friend however wasn't able to beat his addiction. He was close, ended up relapsing, and OD'ing on heroin, and well..that is just that. This was 7 years ago, and to this day I still have his final facebook message to me. I asked him what's up. He said nothing much, just chaos. The next day I found out he had died that night. I haven't spoke to my father since.

As a former addict, i thank you personally for what you do. I was able to get clean on my own when i had my teenage sister look at me in a way that made me want to end my life right then and there. I had been drinking heavily and she knew something was off. I was so ashamed of myself that i stopped cold turkey that day. I said to myself 'the withdrawals youre gonna go through is the untimate punishment' because i knew i broke her heart. I did the same stuff you got clean from so it made itbthat much harder to stop cold turkey. 21 at the time and almost 3 years clean this November. I wish i found you those first few weeks after i quit man. From your personality alone, i wouldve had another reason to stay clean. Thank you for all you do both on here and as a recovery coach. I'm sure you have heard about that heartbreaking story out of Ohio where a father murdered three of his children. His poor wife witnessed the whole thing and tried to intervene only to get shot in one of her hands. One of the children tried to run away only to get caught, drug back and shot. The cops got him sitting on his front porch. The rifle used to murder his children was sitting next to him. Parts of me wishes he would have reached for that rifle. The cops would have ventilated him saving the taxpayers a lot of money on a trial and incarceration. Anyway, when he gets to prison and the other inmates find out what he did, he won't last very long. I hope.

He also shows that if you get caught selling crack etc you get an insane sentence, 40 years(it's not just black people). He encompasses this country: there's consequences to your actions; regardless of your race...and it's hard to start at the bottom and claw your way out; regardless of race.

I remember my first boyfriend plotting and planning to kill the Chomo that preyed on me as a kid.
    Thank God I stopped him.
    Prison life is medieval!
Thank you gentleman for your service.
We need more Gladiators like you fighting for the safety of our children. They are in terrible danger. It's sad to think that sexually abused kids have to pay the price because a pervert fucked up their psyche.
The streets, prisons, and rehabs are full of their victims.

We need someone with a platform to argue for civil liberties for reformed felons. Being disenfranchised is a major component of repeat offending. Not being able to find a job, to find housing, to have personal protection, or the ability to vote, these are all ways to punish someone who has already paid their debt to society. Keep the chomos on the registry, but let the man who earned his freedom enjoy it.

As a deeply spiritual, peace seeking person I find your style of ASMR channel to be very calming and relaxing, particularly your introductions that lull me into a sense of well being as if I were re-entering the great universal womb. That’s how your videos make me feel. I napped off to your story about the chomos forming a prison gang and woke very refreshed. Keep up the good work.

Loud ass music kicks on abruptly at 19:35 while you are still interviewing Chad. Don't know if that was intentional to cover up some convo or if it was accidental. Just thought I'd point it out. Maybe a headphones warning if it was intentional. Just about shit my pants bro.
Other that that, Thanks for this content. this was very enlightening for someone who's never lived that life or had to recover from it. It's definitely helping me to try to see things from a different perspective. I think that's insanely important in someone's growth.
That being said. Keep growing and helping other people to grow. UA-cam can ALWAYS use more people who are trying to do good in the world. Thanks for being one of them.

Am i a sick fuck because i do love these family members? It must make me a poece of shit to. Im one of the victims that did not turn victimizer. I have daughters, and granddaughters and sons. God have mercy on anyone who hurts them. But im 50 tears old, and STILL wrestling over that.

    • @beavistechrock
      @beavistechrock 11 місяців тому

@JD Delay keep in mind "capes" were just cut up sheets with with random things drawn on in magic marker. It was entertaining for sure. This was a level 1 in michigan. Most there are usually within 2 or 3 years of going home. At low levels like that the weirdos are more or less protected. They are the block informants. It was common for their lockers to get peeled open but direct threats or extortion was rare. So we'd just clown em any chance we could. That was the one thing the cos let us get away with. They'd occasionally join in.

i was a camp counselor and some loophole allowed offenders to live directly next to where the kids played. we all knew their faces and i wish i could do more than to tell them off. once i had to step between an old fucking creep coming towards one of my kids and threatened him to back the fuck up (i was 16 so i probably wasn’t very scary but he ran). fucked they were able to watch them play from their apartment balconies, and seeing that was the only time i wished i had some of your connections lol
