good job. it looks wonderful. also, for those not in the know. here is Southern Louisiana, most people don't put pickle on po' boys. you can, but most don't. it's usually on the side as 'spears' instead... Mr. H I think your wife is an absolute blessing and magnificent treasure! Beautiful, intelligent and a fantastic cook! Those Po Boys sandwiches looked so darn good!! You both did a great job in making them! My compliments to you all!! I wish we had them in my state! I love the Brits!!😇
My paternal ancestors are from the area around Lafayette, LA. (Cajun Country), so I know a thing or two about po-boys. You three did us proud! When deciding whether to go with mayonnaise or remoulade sauce on your po-boy, I say "Why choose?" ..... Do both!
My dad and I used to do shrimping and we had to take all kinds of training to get the license and one thing we learned and tried along with many others is shrimp is the exception to fresh seafood is better than frozen. Shrimp loses half its flavor in 5 minutes of coming out of the water. You can stop this by instantly flash freezing shrimp the moment it is in the boat. Our class tried it cooked in 1 to 2 minutes and flash frozen then cooked and then out of water for 10 minutes then cooked. All 3 had no salt or any other flavors just boiled in water the cooked immediately and the flash frozen was full of flavor while the 10 minutes out was tasteless. So don’t be fooled by someone selling fresh shrimp, but it doesn’t matter oyster Po boys are better anyway 😊
It actually looks better than I've seen a lot of other channels do. There was one where they had shrimp cocktail shrimp on some weird kind of roll, and I was like noooo. A lot of seafood in Louisiana doesn't really taste too fishy. Always well seasoned.
Mr H tomatos are the best in the summer, straight from the garden. Little salt n pepper. Maybe do some BLTs this summer with fresh tomatoes and lettuce.

the fried catfish and the fried oyster are my favorite types of poboy. you can make them with anything you have on hand, but you must use french bread. and someone has probably already told you that having it 'dressed' means having it with lettuce and tomato. another great video.

I'm American and my BF is British. We live here in the states. He HATES all seafood, which I don't understand because I LOVE it!!
It's because how they prepare and lack of seasoning it over there. Brits usually do not even season/spice the flour or corn meal .
