Lyrics:
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye
It is the begining of 2024
Who here with me ?

@veganhigler6541 ok good for him!
@veganhigler6541why does that matter?
I’ve been listening to Savage Garden ever since I was little ❤ Darren Hayes is to me an earth Angel 👼 ❤ unbelievable music
Its May 18th 2024. Im a 57yr old mom to 3 grown adults & grandma of 3 beautiful grandsons. Savage Garden ARE my fave. I listen to their songs every night as I fall asleep. Darren Hayes has the voice of an Angel. I so wish they would regroup. Or Darren gets another group together. The WHOLE world NEEDS his music more now than ever before. 20+ years & Savage Garden are still EPIC.
This is one of those rare songs that become more meaningful as you get older. The world is a better place because of it.
Just started playing this and remember when it first came out. Haven't heard it for years , and I have totally agree with you. Very meaningful and just a bloody good song. So much crap songs these days.
Too true, too true :)
Totally agree
Couldn't agree more!
So true
One of the most unappreciated and underestimated songs of all time.
_One of the most unappreciated and underestimated _*_bands_*_ of all time._ I agree with one little change.
They were very much appreciated in the 90´s
+Neil Mackenzie....YESSSSSSSSSSS Savage Garden is that diamond on the beach most people never noticed because it was surrounded by so many other shiny things.
Eskimolz I noticed.
You and I are new best friends then :)
“I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul” so true! Who’s listening in 2021!!!
Greets from Germany 🙂
This song is still relevant now then it was back then because ppl are more colder now than ever. Don’t appreciate what they have. Xxx

@@Buttsy9824 my husband used to sing this song to me and say “this is us”, he died at Christmas and my friend heard it yesterday and said “this is you”, from that exact line, and I knew what I had, but you still live with regret regardless xx
Absolutely you realise how much trivial stuff bothered you before
We are getting wiser. I love the lyrics. It is a poem - an affirmation
@@MsJenn1985 I am so sorry for your loss! 💚
Very true
My mum's favourite song. I played it for her while she was dying. The last line of the chorus is true..you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.

Thanks for cheering us all up
😭
Thank you for sharing, your last moments with your mum, God bless you both. Until you loose everyone in your life, that’s when we’re tested and too loose a parent is definitely one of the hardest. ❤️❤️

I miss these guys. They made real music that touched your heart, no corniness or sleaze. Just pure though provoking feel good. This song is so uplifting and Darren had an amazing voice. Thanks guys for the music :)
I realize this is a three year old comment but have you checked out Darren Hayes’s solo stuff?
Right!! I would totally go back and live in the 90s early 2000s had far less as far as tech but was much simpler happier and easier times I truly miss it
Are you kidding? This is such a ridiculously corny song.
@@GushOnline Darren has some amazing solo stuff!
@Russell Shore I can see how you can say that... it wasn't a particularly complex song. It was Darren talking about his beliefs and Danielmadding some fun beats. It's more just an upbeat, positive sing added to the album but it no way reflects the depth of the band altogether. This album is truly amazing if you It's your style. "Gunning Down Romance" is one of my all time favorites.
First heard this song in my teenage years and it was like a revelation to me.
Now I'm 36 and still am humbled in awe by the truth preached in this song.
God is watching your every move!
Me too. I'm 35 now. 36 in April. 🥰💚
This song hits so differently now that I'm 35.

Is it just me or is this even more relevant today than when it was released. Think they should re-release it 🙌

💯
2022 and this song is still so meaningful. It was way ahead of its time lyrically
These lyrics are so timeless, they were true even before the song was written... They were relevant from the moment beauty magazines and TV evangelists first came into being!
I've passed this to many friends having a hard time, it resonated with me back then and still does,. 2024.😊

I have been listening to Savage Garden since the late 90's
I hope they get back together for a tour in Texas ...
My luv to u, Darren
Hate to be a downer but I think it's pretty unlikely. Unlike Darren (singer), Daniel (guitarist) never felt comfortable in the limelight and with the level of fame Savage Garden achieved - preferring the writing and producing side of music, and the pub scene which he'd know well prior to that. The main reason why they broke up was because what they each wanted lay at odds with one another and this became increasingly apparent, creating a divide between the two (although they respected one another both before and after the split). I can attest to the fact that the two were always very different people; although they worked well together the evidence (if you were a crazy fan like I was) became increasingly obvious and their split, when it came, wasn't that much of a surprise (though it still felt awful).
And this from wikiepedia: Darren was once asked in an interview if he would ever consider reforming Savage Garden and he said, "No, never. I once said I'd only do it if it cured cancer, and that's still how I feel."
Darren & Daniel haven’t spoken for years so I doubt it
"I believe the struggle for financial freedom isn't fair. I BELIEVE THE ONLY ONE'S TO DISAGREE ARE MILLIONAIRES!! "
Lol the Liberals calling people on JobKeeper lazy 😂😂
The cons calling the poor lazy
@@nmcproductions5037 “If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.”
John F. Kennedy.
LMFAO Not a millionaire by far and I DISAGREE!
Anyone who disagree is a LAZY AF ASSHOLE
And lazy doesn't mean you fail to hold down a job. It means you fail to save a dime and every d'mn something comes up in your life you need rescuing by someone else! Too weak-minded to think ahead. Sure, some people's struggle is worse than others, but many just plain fail at basic financial skills. The real weakness is an education system that fails to prepare its children for the world around it. The system fails to properly explain almost everything the deal with finances and economics and then wonders why the people end up poor. Maybe because they're not taught how loans and credit cards work. Maybe because they're not shown how saving a little each month can become thousands over the years. And they're certainly not taught that having millions of dollars can still mean you're a miserable SOS! People argue that money can buy them happiness. It's temporary happiness!
If you had a million dollars you could pay off your house, car, loans, and other bills, but that would all come back. People always want more and more and more. Until they learn to be happy with the little things they'll just drown themselves in "But I want that" instead "Look at the house I have! Lets paint the walls!".
@@davidfence6939 you don’t have to be a millionaire to be a prick, evidently

Their music is so wholesome... Their lyrics are so uplifting, why isn't music like that today? :(
This song saved my life as a kid. Now as an adult it really points to who I am turning out to be. Forever grateful for this song's presence in my life and for the cd not breaking for as much as I played it on repeat...
CDs don't wear down, they do scratch up though....which means its longevity is a testament to how well-loved it was. It was like sacred to ya, in a way. I lost my copy when I moved out on my own as an idiot 19 yr old. It's on my spotify though!
Amen !!!!!!! Exactly the same for me !!!

Still savage in 2024!!!!
I remember my friend in 6th grade year 2000 I believe, he loves Savage Garden so much we used to sing this mostly after dawn at least 3 times before going to school in the morning. Those adolescent days were golden; the meaning of the song embodies the pure innocence and possibility of the times. I pray that I may be able to stop mistaking compassion for love this time around, and be able to truly live the experience and wisdom of this song yet again.
This song wipes its ass with pretty much any pop played on the radio today.
