If you didn't grow up in the 80`s/90's I feel sorry for you. And this is not even my music, I'm gangster I'm a hip hop head. I don't listen to this stuff. But that's how bad the music is today and that's how beautiful those times were. But yet I'm still here.
I am 42 and I could literally overdose on nostalgia. The 90's was the last decade where there was still an innocence to life. They had the best movies, tv, and music. I sometimes sit and just close my eyes and go back to this time on my mind...just immersing myself in all the memories. I cry a lot just yearning for those days that I can never get back. The world is such a 💩show today and I just wish I could be a kid again. Just wanting to relive all those precious times 😢. I thank God for UA-cam...one of the only online platforms I really look at.. I was watching David Letterman in 1999 holding my newborn daughter who was about 27 hours old when this song was performed. It was one of those perfect moments and the song is my favorite "sledgehammer." It instantly takes me back to that night.

I met this girl online 22 years ago we traded emails for a couple weeks and then phone calls then after a month or so we scheduled a meet at an Outback no less and even though I had never met this girl I brought some carnations (yellow) we talked and had a fabulous time and after three hours we scheduled another meeting or should I say a bonafide date. I played this song for my hubby 22 years ago after meeting face to face the first time after meeting on AOL. It was still very taboo at the time to meet someone online. This song spoke volumes about my feelings for him. Here we are 22 years later, still very much in love, married for almost 21 years. This song means so much to us.
My story doesn't quite have the happy ending. We met after talking online in May of 99. We dated until she left for BYU in late August of that year. I was completely in love with her, to her I was just a fling...or so I thought.
We didn't talk again for 10 years, I was happily married to my wife of now 21 years, she was simply married with children. She blocked me on Facebook after telling me she loved me then and still held a large place for me in her heart. She didn't want her husband to ever know she loved me still and that part of her wished her kids with him were mine.
We have never spoken since that day.
Hearing "In your eyes", "Don't take the Girl" and "Goodbye my Lover" still make me emotional to this day.

No cellphones, tablets, teens can still play outside with local games and the best thing is there are blackouts here and there which makes it more interesting for teenagers who wants to play outside at night. 🤣🤣🤣
