Like number 191. You are doing it right Bossman. Disk it up good. All that green left over from last year will rot and feed your new plants. It's called green manure. For fertilizer you should spread a load of cow or horse manure over your garden till it in. It's way better than commercial fertilizer. Find a farmer. Some will let you have it for free.
I cosign this message
Looks good boss man
Keep up the good work Boss Man, this year's garden will be a nice one, positive thinking goes a long way. 👍
U good boss man disk it up good make sure it's little wet or put a mask on when u disk it after u put the lime on maybe this year u can get a cover crop like alfalfa to nitrogen fix it during winter all u just did was added food to that mix so u can get food..nice work
Boosman, that's what I'm talking about. We are not getting any younger. If you have the equipment, why not use it. My grandfather in Mississippi did it this way. He feed the entire town.
Looking good Bossman. Plant a few fruit trees back there too. 👍🏾
Blessings for your growing season Bossman 🌱🌾🌱 Thank GOD you used that tractor. My grandparents in Mississippi didn't dig up they land every year to plant and it came out even better. You're garden is looking good so far.
Hey Bossman, I be watching your videos. I also be watching Country Style and they recommend to watch your videos. And I have been. But anyway I think you are doing a very good job on redoing your garden, because I am so a Country boy myself. But back in the day i did my garden from scratch. With a shovel, hoe and a rake. I got that from my grandfather and grandmother. But handle your business. I wish I had to equipment to do that.
Leaves from greens is the best fertilizer so you did right its Good to see you putting all that nutrition back in the soil. Leaves don't contaminate anything don't listen to them ever again. Find you some good gardening channels here and watch them. It's a great community of black gardeners on here we share a ton of info that you can actually see working and we're helpful to all newbies. Simply search black gardeners or black farmers Good work! Keep on planting
It's great that you are planting a garden this coming spring.
Mr Bossman the garden are looking awesome nice and big cow, chicken, horse manure,a little worm casting your trees leaves mix in is. Good all organic mean oil can control bugs zennia good it attract bees for tomatoes pumpkins all vegetables happy gardening.
Looks good bossman you need to adjust your disk by leveling it it will cut morre even
Looking good Bossman, you did the right thing with the garden. Also, you can’t go wrong with those Burpee seeds. I know you mentioned getting a new tail wheel for the brush hog, it will definitely take some of the pressure off of your tractors hydraulic lift arms when you are cutting. I definitely enjoy your content and good luck with the garden!!
I think you did the right thing by not digging it up and just doing what you did.... that soil looking Dam good.... You will get it right...💪🏿💯
Looks great this is the year Good Luck Bossman
Yep weed eater & tiller is the way to go!
The leaves will break down into fertilizer / nutrients for the soil.
You should rent or borrow a blade to pull behind the tractor to smooth out the piles of dirt and plant grass seed around the back of your house
Yep just like planting a cover crop. I always "turn" what's left into the soil whether it be corn stalks, bean stalks, greens, potato tops etc, all good. I also use ag lime and triple 13, then add whatever else the plant needs after that like fish meal, calcium carbonate etc
Yo Bossman, u are doing the right thing by chopping everything down and discing it back into the ground. It's going to break down in the soil providing nutrition. U won't have to fertilizer as much
Idk about Texas but up my way you’d get good money for that oak wood. Everything is looking good. Another good gardening season is on the way
Nice to see your out door again happy gardening
Well Bossman l didn’t say anything because I forgot, but living in the country our garden was in the same place every year and Mr Gordon got the tractor just like you’re doing, then the fertilizer and after a few days he would do it again. He even made the rows with the tractor. We learned from our parents and it was good. It looks great! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🌱🌱🌱
Dolomitic lime is the best! IMO it increases the sugar index in fruits and vegetables.
Good job, you need to get a plow ,flip the dirt then disk it ,but looking good❤
Its Harold lee from Detroit
Soil looking good Bossman,,, looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing.
Looking good 👍 your garden plot looks nice also.
Tomato’s yes dig up turnip and mustard greens are good to turn in the ground
My Gramps had a Ford tractor just like dat one. Heck ya
Hey Bossman, plant some stakes in the ground to mark how long and wide you want your garden. Once you have set your perimeter, then mark the rows for each batch of seeds ,this way the seeds won't be mixed up. And put tractor fluid in the radiator and not water. Read books on garden . Good luck with your garden. ❤
Talk to the people at local nurseries or farmers about your soil. You can also use ufseeds to figure out your soil zone
lol who said it’s gonna contaminate isn’t right I’m 46 raised a 3/4 acre garden since a boy with my dad we grow everything turn it back in to the ground is going to greatly improve it those greens are full of nitrogen that’s going to feed your next garden good luck boss can’t wait to watch it grow with you
If you do get rid of the trees you have a plenty of wood for bbq😂 and the garden will bring in more game deer ,hogs
Till it deep Bossman. You need a tiller for that ford👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You on point that stuff will rot and give you nutrients in your soil, I would get a soil sample and get it tested to know exactly what you need to put down, might save you some money and time.
You’ve planted by now but Barn Lime. Is what they put down in areas where livestock stay. They clean up the floor from manure or there 💩 and they put that Lime down to help fight bacteria. Then they put bedding on top of lime.
When you go and plant I’d put down compost, manure based fertilizer. If you try Corn, remember they need Nitrogen to really grow. So after the plant comes up you can put nitrogen down by corn.
GOOD JOB 👍
Made sure plantings are space apart as recommended
It will turn into compost. Makes the Soil Richer
Looking good my brother
Let your cucumbers run on wire fencing, easy to pick and don't take up as much room in the garden. Goodluck and keep the videos rolling.
You doing it right
Boss man it looks good man cut it once more before you plant and put lamb and fertilizer down then you should be good to go
It's looking good.
Looking good boss man
Looks good I want to get back to this one day
Good morning
You dig up the old plants so they will not regrow.
You can use the dead plants as compose.
Dang y'all don't confuse the man!
not sure how bad the hogs are but if you bury what is left over from the fish you harvest that soil will be soil rich in nutrients
Work smart not hard 👍👍
Looking good 👍 #GROW
Looking good
Looking good 😊 if you save in a barrel all of the fish gust and heads with vegetable waste you can have higher yield than before. They sell fish waste high on line so just use what you get for free.
One more thing add any charcoal that you have used in with the soil high in nitrogen
smart to chop up the greens in the garden.. they will add much need nitrogen to it. Anything that's organic you can add to the soil helps in the long run
Legumes add nitrogen to the soil when growing .
If you just hook up that disc plow and go over your garden a couple of times and turn that green growth back into the soil you avoid having to weedeat the growth and work up the soil this coming rom an old 75 yr old gardener and the green turned back in the soil acts like a compost and adds organic material back to the soil, its filled with nitrogen to benefit the soil, there is a mushroom farm at Gonzales Texas and you can buy thier soil mixture they discard after raising the mushrooms its very rich in organic matter that works great to add nutrients back to your garden, as a young man we bought cotton seed hulls and plowed it into the soil it added lots of nitrogen back to the soil we had great gardens I do not know where you can get those hulls these days
I think it look good
some things you should not till under like tomato and potato plants but you should turn them greens under. The only issue is they should be given time to break down in the soil first, but even if you don't, they will add nitrogen as they eventually break down.
Look up - Build a Soil, it's a cannabis chanel but no different for vegetables. And that miracle gro is for city folk or flowers, not anything you eat. Also I would talk to local farmers and read published info on gardening, make your own compost, compost teas, green juice, it's a lot to learn but knowledge brings success.
Just plow plants under before they go to seed and you'll be fine. Those green will help with soil disease. The people who are telling u to digging up plants have small raised bed
Exactly
i would sacrifice the trees for the garden. just keep the magnolia and one of the pecan trees I think you said.
Ya Bossman, it enriches the soil when you plow it all under. I normally rotortill mine up about three times. Before planting. But I eat my turnips that grow. I just picked them the other day.
Buy you some bags of top soil and mix it in your garden
CMB LEYS GOOO
looks good
Need some 10 10 10 Fertilizer.or 20 20 20 that will do it all an Lime. Powder.
Next you have to make sure the soil is good, also add compost to the soil a month ahead before you start planting so that the soil can be rich
Just know that trees close by your garden will rob it from water you might want to put in a water sprinkler system in your garden Water is important for a healthy garden.
Boss man just get a new one.
And add the pellet lime in the winter so it’s broke down in the spring
You're going to really draw the halls in now semicolon you need to go back to the Tractor Supply and get some electric fencing
manure and save the leaves and begin to compost them and use as fertilizer
You should be good what with you are doing brother the ground should take the mix well after you mulch into the ground
💯 💯 💯
👍🏾💯
Hey man go and get you a tiller and till it in.
Look like its gonna be something different this time, good job BossMan 👍🏾
Good to keep the oak and hickory. They bring in bushy tail thats good to eat.
Bro i watch the farmers in cali. Mow the fields and disk and a lot of them just turn the field back over and replant. Also disk diagonal one or two times
You have it looking good. It's a nice size garden.
Looking good Bossman That's some nice, rich soil. I was wondering why u didn't use the bush hog the garden down. Hope u get it going ❤
Chickens would have made short work of thoes greens, instead of the weedeater 😊
Good job disking with the garden
I hope your garden prouduce well this year and everything grows like it should
U real sir .
Looking good Bossman
Okay you know just what to do 🌱
Look good Bossman
It's always good to have 2 of everything just in case. Something breaks down. Bossman, what is the name of that tool that divides your soil to plant your seed?
Soil looks good
Hope everything works out for you this time
Put some gravel under that travel trailer help with bugs you can see what’s o the ground if gravel is there just a word of advice my brother
The leaves and vegetation will deteriorate and add nutrients back into the soil. Whoever said contamination, must be from the city.
Boi you doing sum now🎉
👍👍👍
Now spray with round up
Ok😅
What are you going to do with that hill of dirt?
I would have just plow it under because it will turn into mulch
Lods
Why are you disposing of the root vegetables that are edible?
Looking good so far bro. Have you considered a raised garden?
Boss man you have compost just disc it up. Those green you cut up.smart move move
Not too much lime
Fertilizer whole Garden. Not just around the plants an lime it Heavy. 10 10 10 Fertilizer.on the Whole.
Garden.
You training them dogs yet put them to work that's what they bread to do
