Like number 191. You are doing it right Bossman. Disk it up good. All that green left over from last year will rot and feed your new plants. It's called green manure. For fertilizer you should spread a load of cow or horse manure over your garden till it in. It's way better than commercial fertilizer. Find a farmer. Some will let you have it for free.

Hey Bossman, I be watching your videos. I also be watching Country Style and they recommend to watch your videos. And I have been. But anyway I think you are doing a very good job on redoing your garden, because I am so a Country boy myself. But back in the day i did my garden from scratch. With a shovel, hoe and a rake. I got that from my grandfather and grandmother. But handle your business. I wish I had to equipment to do that.

Leaves from greens is the best fertilizer so you did right its Good to see you putting all that nutrition back in the soil. Leaves don't contaminate anything don't listen to them ever again. Find you some good gardening channels here and watch them. It's a great community of black gardeners on here we share a ton of info that you can actually see working and we're helpful to all newbies. Simply search black gardeners or black farmers Good work! Keep on planting

Looking good Bossman, you did the right thing with the garden. Also, you can’t go wrong with those Burpee seeds. I know you mentioned getting a new tail wheel for the brush hog, it will definitely take some of the pressure off of your tractors hydraulic lift arms when you are cutting. I definitely enjoy your content and good luck with the garden!!

Yep just like planting a cover crop. I always "turn" what's left into the soil whether it be corn stalks, bean stalks, greens, potato tops etc, all good. I also use ag lime and triple 13, then add whatever else the plant needs after that like fish meal, calcium carbonate etc

Well Bossman l didn’t say anything because I forgot, but living in the country our garden was in the same place every year and Mr Gordon got the tractor just like you’re doing, then the fertilizer and after a few days he would do it again. He even made the rows with the tractor. We learned from our parents and it was good. It looks great! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🌱🌱🌱

Hey Bossman, plant some stakes in the ground to mark how long and wide you want your garden. Once you have set your perimeter, then mark the rows for each batch of seeds ,this way the seeds won't be mixed up. And put tractor fluid in the radiator and not water. Read books on garden . Good luck with your garden. ❤

You on point that stuff will rot and give you nutrients in your soil, I would get a soil sample and get it tested to know exactly what you need to put down, might save you some money and time.

  • @SbrGrendel65

You’ve planted by now but Barn Lime. Is what they put down in areas where livestock stay. They clean up the floor from manure or there 💩 and they put that Lime down to help fight bacteria. Then they put bedding on top of lime.
When you go and plant I’d put down compost, manure based fertilizer. If you try Corn, remember they need Nitrogen to really grow. So after the plant comes up you can put nitrogen down by corn.

If you just hook up that disc plow and go over your garden a couple of times and turn that green growth back into the soil you avoid having to weedeat the growth and work up the soil this coming rom an old 75 yr old gardener and the green turned back in the soil acts like a compost and adds organic material back to the soil, its filled with nitrogen to benefit the soil, there is a mushroom farm at Gonzales Texas and you can buy thier soil mixture they discard after raising the mushrooms its very rich in organic matter that works great to add nutrients back to your garden, as a young man we bought cotton seed hulls and plowed it into the soil it added lots of nitrogen back to the soil we had great gardens I do not know where you can get those hulls these days

some things you should not till under like tomato and potato plants but you should turn them greens under. The only issue is they should be given time to break down in the soil first, but even if you don't, they will add nitrogen as they eventually break down.

Look up - Build a Soil, it's a cannabis chanel but no different for vegetables. And that miracle gro is for city folk or flowers, not anything you eat. Also I would talk to local farmers and read published info on gardening, make your own compost, compost teas, green juice, it's a lot to learn but knowledge brings success.
