      Bryan Villescas unless you truly believe you love america to death and you wanna " give your life for your country " and all that bullshit, dont go infantry positions.
      1) High chance of casualty/death
      2) No trade when you get out ( no job skills unless you wanna kick down fucking doors for a living )
      3) Field life fucking sucks even when your not in combat

      No, Force Recon & Recon Battalions act as Special Operations Capable (SOC) Units for the USMC(In most cases, Or atleast operate under them).
      MARSOC (Marine Special Operations Command) is the command unit for (Marine Raiders / Marine Special Operations Regiment) and are the Special Operations / Special Forces Unit of the USMC, Similar to Seals, SFOD-D (ARMY), Green Berets and 24th STS (Among Others) who are apart of USSOCOM.

    11:05-> When I was 18, I had to go to a correctional boot camp for 6 months. After the initial welcome (smoked like charcoal), getting your head shaved (you can't recognize anyone you thought you knew), getting your gear, and then getting squared away in the barracks. That is the exact thought I had :-D Physically, the first couple of weeks were the most difficult. Then, like you said, you're at the mercy of other stupidity in your barracks. I learned real quick about team work, discipline, %40 rule, sanitation, and how quickly your mouth can get you into trouble.
    Thanks for the share and keep up the good work~!

    my personal experience going through boot last year is this. If your going to be a grunt, boot camp is the easiest thing you will probably ever do. When i made it to Infantry training battalion it made boot camp seem like going through fun summer camp. Once i arrived to my first unit last year, it made both boot and ITB seem like pre school. Don't get scared by rumors and motto UA-cam videos. Boot camp isn't hard at all, fat people make it through with no sweat and the passing rate is like 93%. The only way your going to fail is if you get seriously injured.

    • @isaacreaper6446
      @isaacreaper6446 8 років тому

      I was told if you get Injured you get sent back home to recover. Then once you come back, you have to start back at Day 1. That sucks..

    • @kyllie1234
      @kyllie1234 8 років тому

      +Isaac Reaper it depends on the severity of the injury. if it's really bad, then they send you home. if it's like something minor with little rehab, then I believe they let you stay but you're put into a different platoon. I believe it's called rtp or PCP, something like that. I can't remember, but you don't start from day 1. you start from where you got dropped at.

    • @isaacreaper6446
      @isaacreaper6446 8 років тому

      +Bria Carter Oh, really? That's interesting. Whay would you call severe and minor?

    • @kyllie1234
      @kyllie1234 8 років тому

      +Isaac Reaper umm... it depends, haha. a friend of mine went to boot camp & she got a stress fracture in her foot. she was in medical for like 4 extra weeks. another girl had something wrong with her hip, & she was sent home. & my other friend was sent home because of her eye. I can't really say what would be severe or minor. because everything is different. what I think would be minor could be severe to the corpsmans. I know they look at what body part is injured & the severity of the injury itself comes into play.

    • @isaacreaper6446

    I have a minor club foot (physical deformity) and even though I can wear any shoe or boot with ease. I can run, jog, and sprint without discomfort. I can walk long distances (with the usual foot aches from walking so long) and be fine. I've been losing weight as well. Do you believe that I'd be accepted once I meet the weight requirements? I also won't lie, I smoked weed once in college when I was around 21 and again around 23. I haven't done it since. I just turned 27 as well.

    US Navy MEPS waived me for lazy eye immediately but dinged me for psychological exam, something to do with being expelled from high school (personal issue with teacher, he told the school board i was a threat to the school and boom expelled, non violent, no drugs nothing) (didn't listen to my recruiter when she told me that never happened but i thought my record would be looked at anyways), and 5 mins with a Indian civilian psychologist i had to ask mutable times what she said. Sadly i didn't get waived for that ordeal.

I'm a heavier guy and I've been running and working out to lose weight. I wanted to know if you were overweight when you decided you wanted to enlist and how you went about shedding weight the quickest/healthiest way. Thanks clay cheers man.

    • @claytonfilpo
      @claytonfilpo  7 років тому

      I was 80 pounds overweight. I lost it over the course of about 14 months. It honestly is a mental and habitual problem. The sooner you make up your mind that you will develop better habits, the faster you'll reach your goal. I dieted properly, exercised A LOT, and got great sleep. It just takes time and dedication.

      You should be good to go. Unless your recruiter says you should (which he/she probably won't) you probably won't have to show xrays at meps. Essentially, they just look you over once and ask you if you have any health problems (which you say "no" almost 99.99999999% of the time)

    What's the difference between Corrective Training and IT?

      +Isaac Reaper Same thing. IT is incentive and Corrective is, well, corrective. But it's the same activities.

      sometimes but other times it can put u in that general field. like if u sign up for military police you are not guaranteed to get it but something similar like a correctional officer.

      No. Essentially, if your'e east of the Mississippi you go to Parris Island. If you're west of the Mississippi you go to San Diego.

    Hey first time viewer but I'm going to be enlisting in the marines I have a question to whether to go to a community college first and get a degree I plan staying to for at least two years but if so which is something courses or degree that can help me for it to jump straight over to the Marine core and help me further succeed there ? Please comment thank you

    i'm in the process of enlisting i went over many details with my recruiter. but i cant do a lot of pull ups despite being underweight and i'm a little over the time limit on the run; like i just don't have enough upper arm strength. is there any way i can improve my pull ups and running? my main concern in boot camp is not being able to actually do and meet the physical requirements and getting everyone in trouble. Thanks in advance.

      Power Gaming hey idk if this is still relevant to you or not but I’m a Poolee and when I first started I could only do like 4 pull-ups and I ran a 10:34 my first try. I started going to pt w the marines every day that they had it at the rss and now I can do 7 pull-ups and I ran a 9:54 on my last IST. You just gotta practice and work hard. I’m supposed to ship out in august
