ive lost 20 pounds so far by cutting out all of the carbs i can, all sugar, and i run every other day or walk sometimes for greater distances. i can run one mile and be pretty spent but i can walk for a while. i walked to my friends house and went walking with him so in total it was 15 miles. i weigh 240 and im 5'7 so its been a hard road to hold but i SWEAR im going to be a marine if it kills me.
i am actually in the same boat as you man! i went to the recruiter earlier today and was told that i have to lose a few pounds to get into training for bootcamp.
mrJMAN17 I came home from College last year at 315 I'm down to 255 now and have 10lbs to drop before I can join keep grinding man it's possible 🇺🇸💪 This profile pic is old as shit too
I left bootcamp with 14 pull ups 105 crunches and a 20:21 run, after mct I gained 15 lbs can only do 10-12 pull ups 88 crunches and a 22:42 run time. So don’t eat all of your mres at mct. Mct was literally the biggest waste of time. So much standing by just to stand by again. I even stayed in front of the platoon in the hikes and I still got fat. 1 and a half MREs is fine for one day. Don’t get fat there. Ooorah!
Fastest guy we had was only 5'6 he did 15:10 3 mile run, my best time ever was 18:36 that was as fast as I ever went. To improve run time you need to run longer distances like 8 milers at least once a week and also train on running hills if you have them
i commented on another video of this nature by this youtuber i think, i have been stressing out really badly for boot camp and i have been very scared about failing, ive gotten passig scores on everything except the run for an ist and no matter what i come back to these videos and they just make my mind at ease for some reason, it may be the reinforcement of the enlisted individuals idk but i really respect all of the youtubers out here and especially you clay, you help me get through this along with my music.
I ran track and cross country before bootcamp. Couldn’t do pull-ups but was maxing it 1st phase. Went in at 135 and graduated 165 . I was always the first to finish the PFT until after desert storm. I ran 6 miles every morning. 10 miles every lunch; 6 miles after work. Use to climb the ropes using just arms; easier with 2. Checks were at the top; lol. LOVE THE CORP; semper fi
I'm quite grateful for joining both Cross Country and Track that'll be the only thing going for me. My upper body is great but could still improve my pull ups.
I'm enlisting very soon. I'm the recruitment process. I'm not inbad shape but I could be in better shape. I'm confident in my running and crunches, but like you were, I can barely do 1 pull up. I've been watching you vids like crazy and want to thank you for posting these. Everyone thinking about enlisting should check your channel out. I'm gonna take your pull up advice. Thanks
thank you for the encouraging words, im only 2 months in to my dep and my ship date is in January. im confident on meeting requirements but know im not there yet slowly inching to a better run time.
I Just enlisted into the Marines today and did pull ups and crunches. I got 27 pull ups and only 62 crunches lol. I thought my abs were strong cause I work them out all the time. I was shocked that I didn't do more than 62...I need work to get to 100 bad.
Aye I feel you, that's exactly like me. However I'm still only a sophomore in HS, so I have time to prepare. At this Marine assembly thing I did 26 pull ups, I can do 80 pushups in 55 seconds, however I was suprisingly bad at sit ups, although I work them out a lot...
I got One month to get 100 crunches in 2 min to get into bootcamp, I'm currently at 65. I can do 15 pull ups, and my mile and a half is 12 min. I weigh 190 at 5'7".
Former cross country runner here, I'd love to go on a 3 mile run every day! Used to do like 7-8 miles a day so I'm not to worried about running (or pull-ups and crunches). I'm just worried about push-ups.
I been working with my recruiter for a few months. I always dreamed of being a Marine. I finally started to workout and get my motivation back. I was at 210 in highschool was going to join but decided to go to college and get my degree. After a few years gone by and late night eating not working out and stuff I was at my heaviest 265 pounds. Today I weigh 221 so within 3 months I have lost 44 pounds. 1st month was easy to lose 20 pounds 2nd month I was sick for 2 weeks and tried getting back on the diet. 3rd month still dieting which sucks. Being hungry sucks. Wanting to eat s cheeseburger and pizza so bad but can't. I got to be st 203 or 208 for my height 68 inches tall still looking forward to my goal. I did my pft and can't do pullups which suck. I ran a 1.5 miles in 1243 and 72 situps when I first ran my 1.5 it was 11 minutes then 13 now 1243 reason for 13 was when you're sick with tonsilitis and a cold it's hard to run so it sets you back. My only worries is boot camp. Will i pass and what is it like. I am scared if failure but u have faith through God though it all. He's also the reason I lost this much weight by prayer and working hard. So if anyone has any advice on how not to worry that'll be great
Don't know how I got a good grade on my YPFTC last year (MCJROTC). I got 70 something crunches, 15 push ups, 5 dead hang pull ups, and 13 minute mile. I got better since than (20 4 Count Push ups daily, I do pull ups every time I go into or exit my bedroom and I lowered my mile to seven minutes) I also created a workout plan with my friend when we play Destiny, anytime we lost a round in Trials, we do five push ups, every time we loose a match, we do twenty push ups on top of the rounds we lost.
I forgot to do the toe step. the messed up my ankles with boots on. I got the stride good Everytime. I have no pull up bar, but I have plenty of tree's to choose from hope one is in jump and arm distance that also don't break. out in the country.
+Joe Putchlawski He's a good friend of mine. Nice guy, really down to Earth. Last time I saw him was when we were running the Marine Corps Marathon, then before that it was a couple days after he received the Medal of Honor and we went out to eat at some shitty burger joint in DC.
+Malehki Vinson bro/sis not sure which to call you lol. You're good. Just keep running. What I'm doing is running 3 miles 3 times a week on my own since I can't make it to PT with my recruiter
+Luis E. Mercado I'm a guy and yea man that's good..I live about 1.9 miles from my recruiter office ..so I jogged there on Wednesday's ..but I can wait for this IST because I believe this the last Wednesday of july
My goal is to have a perfect IST before I ship out in June I currently do 21 pullups, So I got that made. Over 100 crunches every time. So that's not to hard. The only thing I haven't perfected is a run time. I'm running just under 10 minutes on my 1.5 mile. I need 9 minutes for perfect. Almost there.
Will running help me lose weight faster then lifting weights? Because I'm a runner and I'm 6'1" 185, I'm not huge, most of it is fat but I run/jog 2.5-4 miles a day, but I can't do a single pull up, I can barley get half way up, and I'm not really sure which to focus on
Don't worry about the pull ups. Those will come later, it has no reflection on your actual strength. Once you get the 1st one, you'll then get 3, then 4, then 8... I started out doing 0, now I do 18. Keep up the running to continue to lose weight, and most importantly, EAT CLEAN!
what i do is to build uper body strength, is every time i take a piss when im done i drop on the ground and do half to 3/4 of my max number of push ups no matter what time it is or even if im at school and there is other guys in there it works trust me i know and what are they gonna do kick my ass yeah right
I'm doing the 3 miler everyday. I recently picked up tendonitis in my ankle because of some other training exercises. Hopefully I can jump can into it as soon as possible.
The way I got better at pullups was doing 10 sets of just one pullup with a weighted vest on (25-35 lbs) and follow that with a max set of pullups without the weight. I did it everyday and went from doing 0 to doing 8-10
Just stick to it. Most don't. That was the biggest hurdle for me, the excuses. Watch, your all charged up come New Years then after a month you...conveniently forget. I hate the gym, so I go to the woods. Climbing up wooden glens, a mountains and hills with a pack. It doesn't even feel like exercise. Who here didn't like going exploring when they were kids you know? BTW: Your right about exercising in between games. I used to do it on the commercial breaks. See how many push-ups or jumping jacks I could do on the commercial break. It all helps.
what form of pull-ups do you do? over hand or underhand? I'm really bad at pull-ups. I only did 6 at my boot camp PFT. my run was a 20:09 and I did 121 crunches. I run alot so I'm not worried about that but I want to get way better at pull-ups bc that's the only thing holding my PFT score down
I'm 14 turning 15 in November I'm joining the Marines my senior year of high school. I can do 55 crunches in 2:00 I can do 5 pull ups and run 3 miles in 24:30. I'm healthy and in decent physical shape. Do you have any tips for someone my age that's interested in joining the Marine Corps?
Sounds like you're in pretty good shape all around man. Just don't stop working out, stay motivated, and enjoy your time in high school. I know that sounds weird, but you still have a couple years before you have to worry about being a poolee, so just enjoy the perks of being young in the mean time
Hey Clayton can you please help me im 16 and I plan on joining the Marines this June when I turn 17 but I weigh 187 and like 25% body fat and I can pt just fine but I suck at making a diet plan. Im only 16 so I was wondering if you could message me a plan that is cheap for my age I have a job so I can buy alot of the food I just need help!
I'm working on a full diet/exercise plan, and honestly nothing works for everyone. So first things first: Each week, write down on paper the following: Days of the week, 5 separate eating times for each day, and your workouts for each day. I am on a cutting cycle now and will put a video up of my progress and exactly how I kept track of it all (and held myself accountable.) Here's a few things that'll help you drop that weight: Eat smaller portion sizes, but more meals. Even if that means pulling some fruit and veggies out during class. Watch out for TRANS FAT. Keep the carbs for mainly breakfast and brunch. Stop eating carbs after 8:00 pm Buy your own food, and make sure your family understands that you're trying to lose weight. Discourage them from buying junk food, and let them know that your portion sizes at the dinner table may be less. They may be offended at first, but keep positive and hold yourself accountable. Stop eating junk food. No chips, little debbies, chocolate, ect. Just don't eat them, there's no room for that crap. Keep up the cardio vary your exercise times Focus on YOU. You're doing this all for you, no one else. Don't let others put you down.
I'm a poolee and I am horribly after every Saturday workout I am sore for atleast 3 days after every work out. My shoulders my knees my upper back is all sore. What should I do. I leave on April 20th 2019 I'm afraid that this cycle will continue until my boot camp date and I get dropped or they don't send me in the first place. Can you help me or give me any advice thank you so much
I know it sounds crazy, but you gotta keep running. It only gets easier as you build yourself up. Also, nail down your nutrition and get good sleep. Good luck brotha
+masfg gueli It is very very tough think of it like a armed construction worker. But if you like building stuff you will really enjoy it you will learn to construct many many things like toilets, bridges bases and clearing many many obstacles. You will have lots of respect from people even more then a riflemen in the rifle coy.
Any tips that help with doing crunches while having a longer torso? I know of having your arms down as far as possible, try to keep tight. But it doesn't seem to help
I can do 20 pullups but only about 60 crunches and my running time is complete ass. Any tips for someone who dies after 1.5 miles? 17 and going to boot this year kinda scared of those three miles.
What is the longest time you can have on the 3 mile run? I know 18 minutes is a perfect score. Im in pre enlistment right now and i can do the pullups and the crunches already, but i have never been a great track runner.
Crazedblades46 31-33 depending on your age and don't go run the three miles every day for the first week or you'll get shin splints that take way to long to go away I recommend going up a mile every 3 weeks of every other day running so do like another 3rd of a mile every week and when you hit the third mile work on your stride length and pay more attention to your breathing and your form
Im 15, 5" 5', 150 lbs. i cant even do a pullup and i dont have a pullup bar where or how could i get a bar to do pullups? And i also suck terribly at math never did good at math is the asvab hard if your bad at mathematics i am not like bad im horrible at math.
Math is definitely a factor, but you can still pass it if you ace the other portions. As far as pullups go, pull up bars are cheap at Walmart. The good news: You have two years of practice ahead of you before you even have to worry about taking the ASVAB. That's the good news!
Hey man, I have a problem with my ankle, when I was little I sprained my ankle or broke it. One of the two. And never got it fixed. So running for me even to this day (I'm 19) is hard. I can't go for more than a mile without it throbbing. So, my question is, if I got it fixed up or something would they except me? And also, how many miles a day do you run?
If you get it fixed up you'll be fine. IF you get it fixed though. I mean, really if it gets fixed just don't say anything about it. BUT don't go in until you get it fixed or can go those 3 miles with it. I never really run more than 3 miles and it's only 1-2 times a week
campinggear1 My honest opinion, based on only my experience, is no. But hey, who knows. Maybe you'll be some sick and twisted soul that enjoys field day and formations.
I'm a poolee leaving this Nov 18 I can do 60 push ups 67 crunches (max effort) 7 pullups 13 mins for the run I'm 5'5 , 64 Kg or 140 Lb Will I do fine in Bootcamp? I'm nervous 100% legit
Nothing too much but wear underwear. When you are taking the physical they make you strip to your boxers and touch your toes, duck walk, jumping jacks etc and yes people forgot to wear boxers. Also don't drink energy drinks, coffee, or anything with caffeine cause its gonna give you a false positive on the drug test, don't have sex or spank your salami or choke your chicken the night before because its gonna make you have protein in your pee which will disqualify you, do not take out or use your phone, and most importantly DO NOT FALL ASLEEP. They will draw blood from you and you will be tired but try your hardest not to fall asleep. I did but I got lucky but still regretted it later. Oh I almost forgot don't get rude with the civilians there because they will call the servicemember from the branch and you gonna be added out
TheMvPSDewayne Jamal Philips Jamal hit the nail on the head. Just be polite, respectful, do what your told, and get a good night's sleep. Don't sweat the small stuff, MEPS is a walk in the park bro
I'm a girl, 19 years old, and have been thinking of joining the marines, but I've been told by many people that they'd recommend me going into the Air Force instead of the marines. Personally, I've always wanted to join the marines and now I'm having second thoughts. Not really sure which branch I should join now lol any opinions/thoughts on that?
+Saray Dominguez Honestly, it doesn't matter which branch you choose. It just comes down to what do you want to tell your grandkids (and what enviornment do you want.) If you want an easy life, go air force. If you want (for some sick, sadistic reason) to live a slightly miserable, hard, proud life, then go Marine Corps.
Being a woman has nothing to do with what service you should join. That's a crock of shit, to be honest. Air Force people definitely get treated better. Won't lie. But Marines are.... well, Marines.
ClaytonFilpo ok thank you, I have always wanted to be in the marines thank you for making me want to be one even more. I might even be 16 but I love your videos I have always been subscribed. Keep it up, also when will u make a new video
Next week I'll have a TON of free time to make new videos. (and I got a new camera) exciting stuff, keep me accountable. We'll get some new videos out there!
I am currently a poolee in Boston I ship this Coming March and i am very close to the minimum weight for my height. im 5'8 and about 125. any tips on probably gaining a few pounds? p.s I love peanut butter too
Peanut butter helps! Basically, I would turn to the red meats for you. Steak, burgers, ect. Just make sure you're taking in a lot of meat and high carb items.
I'm 90 pounds and I'm 5 '3 I can't run for shit. I can run but I can't run far only because since I'm 90 pounds at 15years old my heart beats faster than every ones else's: what I've been trying is eating peanut butter sandwiches and jelly of course and a big glass I'm milk to lower digestive system. One day I will be 5'8 at 98 pounds and then I could join the Marine Corps.
You're so cute 😭 And you play xbox too!! Sadly i joined the army bc of the marine recruiter down here not starting my paper work :/ Ha. Eventually I'll transfer. But these tips on working out actually come in handy, thanks 😁
+ClaytonFilpo I'm joining this September and I'm 18 also.I heard they treat the highschool grads differently at boot.but I think it's a load of shit..maybe
+Joshuabrutl 😂😂😂don't listen to this guy man. He commented that he runs a 12:35 1.5 mile😂😂😂 A 7 minute mile is not bad at all. For average guys that's above average. But for runners id say it's on the slow side.
The running for the PFT is so easy for those guys who ran track and cross country in high school.
I wish i were you lol 18 min 3 mile is fkin crazy
*****
Back in cross country I ran mid 16s in the 3 mile
+alhfgsp During track season I could probably run that, but getting 20 pull ups with it is also hard. It's hard to balance those.
twopoint Takedown
True, it takes more work than most are willing to put in. That's what makes marines different.
alhfgsp Rah

sprinting/jogging/sprinting is really great for cardio and being to endure a long run
Im 27 trying to join the marines reserve. So far ive lost 70lb and have 25 left to go.
Jose Gomez damn. Good shit. Hope you got in!

no sports. don't worry now, I can do over 30 pull ups and over 100 crunches now. Just graduated from ITB lol

randumpotato I also run Cross-country! excited about the running but push ups really scare me!
Enrique Rojas Glad im not alone! Good luck man! I've been working on mine! 😂
dang cross country runners unite! same here I've been working on push-ups more than anything
randumpotato I ran cross country also, was a damn blast
Markie Holy shit so many future XC future soldiers 😂😂😂
They're not even gonna see us coming over those hills!
Finally I really needed advice on this
thanks for the advise really helped i ship off this week for marine boot camp
thanks!!!!
Cardio is very important as it help with ones breathing during lifts. From dumbells to pushups, it helps alot

Dylan Smith Winston Churchill said, "Fear is a reaction, courage is a decision."
You just have to want it bad
Don't know how I got a good grade on my YPFTC last year (MCJROTC). I got 70 something crunches, 15 push ups, 5 dead hang pull ups, and 13 minute mile.

Finally some pretty helpful advice!
Awesome video. I should be going to MEPS real soon and this is def helping.
I started doing push ups between games and went from 15 to 35. The whole in between xbox games thing is legit.
what do you mean the whole in between?
@@TheThe123milo so everytime a match would finish for example black ops 3 when you finish that match knock out some pushups
thanks so much for this informational video!
Cpl Carpenter trained me and my friends a couple years back . Before he received the Medal of Honor. It was really awesome and humbling.
+Joe Putchlawski He's a good friend of mine. Nice guy, really down to Earth. Last time I saw him was when we were running the Marine Corps Marathon, then before that it was a couple days after he received the Medal of Honor and we went out to eat at some shitty burger joint in DC.
Also do you think you can do a video about the marine Corp standard crunches and pull ups?
3 mile 24 min minimum, 100 crunches in 2 min, and 10 minimum Pull ups.
ICBM I thought pull ups was 2
Nick You might be right.
John Marist requirements are 3 pull ups or chin ups, 50 crunches in 2 minutes, and 3 mile run in under 23 minutes
Nick thats the minimum to go to bootcamp its different in order to graduate from bootcamp
right now im at 8 pull ups and 85 crunches. Im still in the DEP i haven't done a PFT , only IST. My current time in the 1.5 miles is 11:26
+Luis E. Mercado I'm doing 110 crunches 17 forehand pull-ups and my fastest run is 11:26..the run is only thing I'm worried about
+Malehki Vinson bro/sis not sure which to call you lol. You're good. Just keep running. What I'm doing is running 3 miles 3 times a week on my own since I can't make it to PT with my recruiter
+Malehki Vinson I'm improving a little bit. Right now I'm doing 9 pull ups. 91 crunches and 11:00 on the run
+Luis E. Mercado I'm a guy and yea man that's good..I live about 1.9 miles from my recruiter office ..so I jogged there on Wednesday's ..but I can wait for this IST because I believe this the last Wednesday of july
You're a douche bag
My goal is to have a perfect IST before I ship out in June I currently do 21 pullups, So I got that made. Over 100 crunches every time. So that's not to hard. The only thing I haven't perfected is a run time. I'm running just under 10 minutes on my 1.5 mile. I need 9 minutes for perfect. Almost there.
TheOnlyInformant no it's 9 for a perfect score.
If you add weights to your body so when you do pull-ups you have to pull weights up too does this help
Mason Wild of course
Will running help me lose weight faster then lifting weights? Because I'm a runner and I'm 6'1" 185, I'm not huge, most of it is fat but I run/jog 2.5-4 miles a day, but I can't do a single pull up, I can barley get half way up, and I'm not really sure which to focus on

im assuming when you say eat clean, eat healthy and not crap like chips and fatty foods
That's correct! Check labels on all foods, stay away from all the added sugars and trans fat, and keep to the veggies and chicekn
Hahaha shit.
I'm joining, and I'm runner.
weight is 126, and height is 5'10
If you want a better pft score, pull-ups are easy to improve. You get 5 points for 1 pull-up vs. 1 point for a 10 second faster time on a run.
How do you to an 18 minute 3 mile?? I ship to basic in July and I get a crappy 12 minute 1.5 mile...
FEROWARRIOR run a lot man
12 minute 1.5 mile isn’t bad at all ?
@@XxSiLvAxXx for competitive running standards it is
The only way to improve running time is being consistent and train five days per week
Great video !
Thanks peelon96. And my gt is Mr Filpo for anyone interested...
Hey Clayton you should do a video on the Asvab that would be sweet
NO! Jk it's easy. I just took it, and it is honestly common sense. You get the job you are best at
Graduated highschool in May I was 245 and now i am 178.it is possible to lose the weight it's dedication.i have to be 146 .so 30 pounds left to lose.
How many times a week were you doing sprints?
I normally do sprints at least 2-3 times a week. I usually space them out every other day to give my legs a break.
what i do is to build uper body strength, is every time i take a piss when im done i drop on the ground and do half to 3/4 of my max number of push ups no matter what time it is or even if im at school and there is other guys in there it works trust me i know and what are they gonna do kick my ass yeah right
I've been working hard but still am only at 70-75 crunches, 7-8 pull ups and a 27 minute 3 mile
Anyone else hear that Subaru at 5:13? hhaha
+Nick Neeley Looking for someone who noticed it xD
+Nick Neeley Looking for someone who noticed it xD
Just stick to it. Most don't. That was the biggest hurdle for me, the excuses. Watch, your all charged up come New Years then after a month you...conveniently forget. I hate the gym, so I go to the woods. Climbing up wooden glens, a mountains and hills with a pack. It doesn't even feel like exercise. Who here didn't like going exploring when they were kids you know? BTW: Your right about exercising in between games. I used to do it on the commercial breaks. See how many push-ups or jumping jacks I could do on the commercial break. It all helps.
just a poolee right now i have 4 months until i ship and i hit 15 pullups 80 crunches and 1.5 mile in 12:10 and 80 ammo can lifts, any advice?
what form of pull-ups do you do? over hand or underhand? I'm really bad at pull-ups. I only did 6 at my boot camp PFT. my run was a 20:09 and I did 121 crunches. I run alot so I'm not worried about that but I want to get way better at pull-ups bc that's the only thing holding my PFT score down
CLEAR WATER DUCKY STAY STILL.. RUNNING LEGS SPEEDY... NO SALTY.. QUACK... DRY HEAVING !
"FREEDOM IS NOT FREE "
THANK YOU FOR SERVING !
⭐
Yo is this the guy from the Corps Report
Abian ¿ yea
You got it!
Wish I had an xbox one you seem cool as fuck
I can do 10 pullups so I do max before and after I go to the bathroom
Lol the craps are motivational I tell you.
I'm really terrible on my crunches.
I'll do 53 on one IST and then the next I'll do like 46. ugh. But thanks for the encouragement man
I'm 14 turning 15 in November I'm joining the Marines my senior year of high school.
I know that sounds weird, but you still have a couple years before you have to worry about being a poolee, so just enjoy the perks of being young in the mean time
Okay, thank you I really appreciate and thank you for your service Semper Fi
Bruh get on my level I run a 17:47 three mile 109 crunches in 2:00 and 100 push-ups in 2:00
daniel barrera How is that helpful in anyway besides BS on the internet?
"bs" im only 15 as well
If you guys can't do pull-ups very well you can do push ups or dips to help you with pull-ups. Hope this helps.
I am on a cutting cycle now and will put a video up of my progress and exactly how I kept track of it all (and held myself accountable.) Here's a few things that'll help you drop that weight:
Eat smaller portion sizes, but more meals. Even if that means pulling some fruit and veggies out during class.
Watch out for TRANS FAT.
Keep the carbs for mainly breakfast and brunch. Stop eating carbs after 8:00 pm
Buy your own food, and make sure your family understands that you're trying to lose weight.
Keep up the cardio
vary your exercise times
Focus on YOU. You're doing this all for you, no one else. Don't let others put you down.
Thank you so much for that I will do this plan for a month and tell you how it works out!
right on.
Hey I'm 17 years old, currently I'm a United States Marine Corps Poolee. Quick question: is the Combat Engineer MOS any fun?
masfg gueli I wouldn't know if it's fun or not. I will say that it's a tough job, some long hours at times, and not very easy to pick up rank in
+masfg gueli It is very very tough think of it like a armed construction worker. But if you like building stuff you will really enjoy it you will learn to construct many many things like toilets, bridges bases and clearing many many obstacles. You will have lots of respect from people even more then a riflemen in the rifle coy.
***** thank you
Any tips that help with doing crunches while having a longer torso?
27:40 is the new minimum for 18 year olds. what's your highest IST run?
For pull ups does it matter what position your hands are in?
Hello I just sweared in the dep and I really want to do infintary!! (But do I?) any advice. I'm honestly looking for your opinion
campinggear1 My honest opinion, based on only my experience, is no. But hey, who knows. Maybe you'll be some sick and twisted soul that enjoys field day and formations.
TheOnlyInformant ive heard that a lot of police jobs look for infantrymen. idk just something i heard.
The marines made me love running. I hate it and love it at the same time. FUCK.
i understand this video was from 14', What's your rank if you dont mind me asking? great videos man, for they are very informative.
+Richard Young Thanks man. When I filmed this, I was a Lance Cpl. I got out 6 months ago as a SGT
+ClaytonFilpo congrats, man. thank you for the reply!
+ClaytonFilpo I wanna say you were a Cpl just because in the video you're wearing the chevrons lol
+Dennis Rogers I got out as a sgt
No I meant during the video.
How many pull-ups are required to do in the Marine Corps
Thought the usmc does crunches not sit ups
It is crunches.
ClaytonFilpo can you make a video about the ranking system in your next video
Sure can!
What happens if you fail the PFT?
I'm a poolee leaving this Nov 18
I can do
60 push ups
67 crunches (max effort)
7 pullups
13 mins for the run
I'm 5'5 , 64 Kg or 140 Lb
Will I do fine in Bootcamp?
I'm nervous 100% legit
Matt Maranan yea you’ll do fine just keep grinding till the day of ship out
Got it. Thanks bro
Can you give advice on MEPS, if you have can you send me the link please?
Are you going there to take the test or physical?
I'm going to MEPS for the physical.
Oh I almost forgot don't get rude with the civilians there because they will call the servicemember from the branch and you gonna be added out
What could get me disqualified?
I was told the same thing. For sure I want to join Marines though. Haha
+ClaytonFilpo If you don't go all the way with your service why go at all?
Being a woman has nothing to do with what service you should join. That's a crock of shit, to be honest. Air Force people definitely get treated better. Won't lie. But Marines are.... well, Marines.
I was there twenty years ago. If you want it, go get it! It's hard but worth it!
How did you get in without doing a pull up my recruiter sais you need. 2 but said he won't contract me till I lose 30 pounds and get 4-5 pull ups
When I first went to the recruiter, I couldn't do a single pull up. 6 months later, I was able to do about 3-4, which then allowed me to DEP in.
gotcha so did your recruiter just work with you thats what mine is doing since im so close to DEPing in
yep. My recruiter was fantastic, as well as my friends that helped me in their spare time
same here haha i look forward to joining no idea what i want my MOS to be i just know i want to be an officer one day
is the 3 mile run on a track?
I think it's just from point A to point B back to Point A
+johnny escobar its what ever is available, mine is a random train. 29 palms is just a run make and forth in the desert lol
what is your mos?
clayton what is your gamer tag
Mr Filpo
ClaytonFilpo ok thank you, I have always wanted to be in the marines thank you for making me want to be one even more. I might even be 16 but I love your videos I have always been subscribed. Keep it up, also when will u make a new video
Next week I'll have a TON of free time to make new videos. (and I got a new camera) exciting stuff, keep me accountable. We'll get some new videos out there!
ClaytonFilpo ok, thank you clayton see you later
How tall is Kyle Carpenter?
Um, not super tall I guess? Probably around 5'7 or 5'8
I am currently a poolee in Boston I ship this Coming March and i am very close to the minimum weight for my height. im 5'8 and about 125. any tips on probably gaining a few pounds? p.s I love peanut butter too
Peanut butter helps! Basically, I would turn to the red meats for you. Steak, burgers, ect. Just make sure you're taking in a lot of meat and high carb items.
ClaytonFilpo Okay. thanks for the advice i will definitely go for the red meats!
alex beltran try to keep them lean, and slow digesting carbs.
How did you get past ist without doing two minimum pullups
You aren't required to do an IST until it comes time to ship to boot camp. So by the time my IST rolled around I could do at least 3 pull ups.
ClaytonFilpo i was wondering because I have my first poolee function tomorrow and i too struggle with pull ups.
Do you know how SKINY you would be at 5'8 and 98 pounds?... Btw how tall are you now?
Boi gain weight muscle weight
Henry Bowers hay how much now?
Any thoughts on Crypto Linguist in the Marine Corps, leaving in December for intel and wanted to know if you knew anything about it? ClaytonFilpo
Brandon Fossett A great MOS, but only for the smart dudes. Crypto Linguist requires the highest asvab score, public affairs follows
What's his Xbox GamerTag?
ClaytonFilpo
Thanks bro
Dude what’s your GT
ClaytonFilpo
ClaytonFilpo thanks man
i can do about 15 pull ups and the crunches are no problem but the running...... the running.....
What's your gamertag ?
I was so heartbroken until I remembered this is for marines
I Ran 2 miles in 13:40 and I'm in the 8th grade lol, Is that good?
meh
Markie its really good for 8th grade. you only need 1.5 mile in 13:30 to enlist
trash rapper yeah but the pft is 3 miles in 21 minutes or something like that im not really sure about the time but ik its 3 miles
Christian Guerrero hes in 8th grade. also, pft is after bootcamp so he doesnt need to worry about it right now
trash rapper you have to pass the pft to become a marine it is not after boot camp
You're so cute 😭
And you play xbox too!!
Sadly i joined the army bc of the marine recruiter down here not starting my paper work :/
Ha.
Eventually I'll transfer.
But these tips on working out actually come in handy, thanks 😁
Miriam Salazar,
Glad they helped:):) Thank you for watching, you're awesome!!
and i subscribed :) :)
what's your gamer tag
+rolando olivarez Mr Filpo
ClaytonFilpo Pfft, I could've guessed that .
whats your gamertag man im in the service too
How old were you when you joined the corps?
I joined when I was 18 years old, I'm currently 20.
ClaytonFilpo im 20 and seeing a recruiter soon, but would i be considered old?
Hell no bro. You're good
thanks dude, SEMPER FI!
+ClaytonFilpo I'm joining this September and I'm 18 also.I heard they treat the highschool grads differently at boot.but I think it's a load of shit..maybe
I'm sure you get this all the time, but I felt the need to tell you that you have some really pretty eyes. :)
Thank you! I do get that a lot, it's just a shame lashes like these got wasted on this ugly mug!
To each their own. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Cliche, but true. Lol. Not that it matters, but I dont think your "mug" is ugly. :)
Man you're so lucky I wish I could meet Kyle carpenter
I've always been told to run heel to toe
thats bad advise and good way to hurt urself
whats your gamertag? would love to talk to you im in the DEP program i leave July 24th.
ClaytonFilpo
Nye's World don't do it
can I join at 28?
Sure can. I believe the oldest I've seen is 30 years old. BUT, your clock is ticking! You'd have to get to a recruiter sooner rather than later
Cool I'm going to the recruiters office tomorrow. thx for the videos.
Do pull ups on a 2 by 4
an 18min 3 mile is better then me and I like to run.. takes me 7 minuets to do a mile but I'm not in the military
+Joshuabrutl 😂😂😂don't listen to this guy man. He commented that he runs a 12:35 1.5 mile😂😂😂
A 7 minute mile is not bad at all. For average guys that's above average. But for runners id say it's on the slow side.
+Mclovin I saw that too lol, 7 minute mile is pretty good for a beginner tbh
My cdi told us to bounce off our toes
for long distance you want to be hitting in the middle of your foot
Do a video on a normal day at bootcamp. Lol
gamertag?
