when i was in afghanistan, my brother was going through army basic training, i found a 7 foot tall pink teddy bear on ebay and sent it to him, it was his battle buddie for 3 weeks
a friend told me that while he was in bootcamp, a guy in his platoon received nude polaroids from his gf. The drill instructor nailed them to the wall for the entire platoon to enjoy😬
My family wrote almost daily. It was the best. I kept them afterwards as well. The TI’s never held onto our mail however you just have to use your time wisely to write back!
This is very helpful! If my boyfriend gets accepted, this is going to be our routine for boot camp, and I don’t want to do anything that’ll get him in trouble and I want everything to go smoothly. I want him to succeed. 😊
I got a package in the mail from my dad while I was in bootcamp. It was full of candy, cookies, snacks, and had a bottle of shampoo. The DIs let me keep the shampoo and confiscated the rest. 3 days later during free time I told another recruit that I really wanted cookies so I knocked on the hatch and when the DIs answered I yelled “this recruit requests cookies, sir!” The whole platoon looked over at me and the DIs ended up giving me a couple of them. I was so happy.
29 Lets Go Air Force or navy, you wouldn’t have the balls in the marines my man... and they wouldn’t give you cookies, you’d be pulling double fire watch the rest of boot camp
Despite my drill sergeants emphatically telling us to tell our families to NOT send packages with goodies there'd still be someone getting a package. My drills would shake it, say it sounded like cookies, and then drop and 'accidentally' stomp on the package. I once had cough drops confiscated during search after returning from our 2 hour Sunday afternoon leave to enjoy the shitty mini-PX because it was considered 'candy' (Hall's?) and had a can of 'Parade Gloss' Kiwi boot black confiscated as it had to be regular. Letters are the ONLY tangible link you have with the outside world and they were very important to us. (Oh yea, do not let your girlfriend spray perfume on a letter for a drill sergeant to discover.)
I went to PI for boot camp in mid-Jan of '62. Initially we were issued a portfolio with stamps, envelopes, and stationery . We were able to buy replenishment supplies on our 1st PX call. We could write letters after mail call, which came at about 1945. From 2000 until 2100 was called Free Time. During that hour you squared away your gear, showered/shaved (we shaved in the AM only on inspection days) and wrote letters.
This is great. Takes me back to 93. I had my 22nd bday in boot. No fanfare at all and no cards or letters that garnered any attention. I did watch the fireworks at Sea World San Diego from my rack that night.

In Army BCT, they starting making people open their letters in front of the DS to make sure that people weren't receiving nudes. here's one question. what would happen if a recruit (when he or she arrives at boot camp) doesn't make the required phone call home or to his or her recruiter???
If no contact can be made to his or her parents, the recruit will contact his recruiter. If the recruiter doesn't pick up, the next person in the recruiter's chain of command would be contacted.
Man, you're funny. My brother is in the boot camp now. I wonder if I send him Judy, will they kick him out back home? I need him to be home. I miss him.
Ferrit Asia to continue college there's no war going on so going active would somewhat waste time cause I'll be sitting around all day waiting to clean
monkeylove178 You go through boot camp, MCT, and MOS School. when you get done you go home except for 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year. you get all the same benefits aside from dental and education is slightly skewed. Also your paycheck is cut down to 600 a month
Hey Clayton, I leave for MCRD SD in a little over 4 months. I appreciated this video but I was wondering if you could create a list of things our friends and family can send us while we are at MCRD that we will need and that will fit in a standard envelope. Thank you
ClaytonFilpo Good to get your opinion, also, I'm trying to get my younger brother into Airsofting, he seems to like it so far, which is good because I'd like to take him to a game sometime.
I'm only 14 but I'm scared I won't get accepted by my recruiter since about 2 years ago my doctor told me I have asthma. But I have been able to be one of the top PT students in my jrotc battalion. Do you think if I were to talk to my doctor I could still have a chance?
Hey I was just wondering if someone has and irregular heart beat that does not affect your health what so ever could you still join the military and what branch
My boyfriend is in week 5 now and i've only gotten one letter. do you have any idea why i'm not getting mail from him? i've written him every day but i've got nothing back. i just wanted to know your thoughts
The one thing that is promised to them is that they will receive mail, pretty much no matter what. It's possible that there is some sort of clerical error, but I doubt it since you already received a letter from him. You kind of have to go out of your way not to write mail back to your girlfriend.
Hey I'm planing on joining the army and staying there. Is there any way going about doing that while your younger ? Like a youth boot camp and then you could transfer to an adult camp when your ready
It's very informative and the real stuff that you need to know before going into the military. Like the video about the glasses thank you for that and I really what to know I don't you want your drill instructor to know your birthday
I've heard drill instructors can read your mail in front of everyone and make fun of it and if your girlfriend sends you nude photos in the mail they can put them up in front of everyone
They can do that, yes. BUT, they can't open your mail. You have to open it, by law. Then they'll do whatever the hell they want. If your gf is dumb enough to send a nude to a kid with 3 d-bag drill instructors and 95 sex-deprived teenagers, she's dumb
You and some of your friends should make comedy plays about how boot camp is. People would really like to see something funny but real. Or other funny stuff in the military. That would be something new and cool.
So my bf is at bootcamp and he graduates in like a week but he wrote me and told me to send him this bracelet that I got him before I left. He will not be getting leave and I’m just confused on what to do...?
So if someone actually sends you a package, like whatever... Say it's a small non-edible item. Will they take it from you, or are you allowed to keep it?
Going through Rotc doesn't mean you've been trained in the military, not even close. You have to sign up for the branch you want to serve under, and they'll train you well enough to survive overseas.
I will be leaving on 9/11/17 and I am just thinking for birthdays is there something special event thing you squad will do and for bootcamp graduation do we have like a way for family to come to our graduation.
You pretty much have an hour of 'free time' every night (and 4 hours Sunday morning if I remember correctly), so you squeeze letter writing in then. You'll have plenty of other things that need to be done during that time though.
When should I get into contact with a recruiter I am currently a sophomore in high school and I am 15 also if my school offers a program for the Air Force should I still become a part of that even though I want to go into a different branch

monkeylove178 You go through boot camp, MCT, and MOS School. when you get done you go home except for 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year. you get all the same benefits aside from dental and education is slightly skewed. Also your paycheck is cut down to 600 a month
twopoint Takedown ahh ok thanks for the insite, yesh really 600 a month or thought it was 200ish
This was my first time watching your channel and I loved it! Thank you for your service!
Hey,
I'm in the process of becoming a poolee and thinking about jobs. What is your take on intel?
Good job, very in demand. Has applicable skills in the civilian world. 10/10 would recommend (but it's hard to get into at times)
Hey Clayton, I leave for MCRD SD in a little over 4 months. I appreciated this video but I was wondering if you could create a list of things our friends and family can send us while we are at MCRD that we will need and that will fit in a standard envelope. Thank you
Is there a certain amount of letters your recruit can get at once ? Like 3 letters or 4 letters ?
There's no limit
How to deal with losses in the family at boot camp, for example if your family member dies, can you go to funeral
Cyclone You'd get a red Cross message. Weather you get to leave or not will depend on who died
dude thats hilarious i was in that stream where he said he would send a blow up doll
Hey, Clayton, I'm new to this channel, but I'd like to know what you feel about Airsofting and Millsiming.
I'm not big into either. Was into airsoft when I was younger, for sure.
ClaytonFilpo Good to get your opinion, also, I'm trying to get my younger brother into Airsofting, he seems to like it so far, which is good because I'd like to take him to a game sometime.
Do you have to immediately go into MOS after boot camp or can you wait a year
What about certified mail? Do they get in trouble?
I'm only 14 but I'm scared I won't get accepted by my recruiter since
about 2 years ago my doctor told me I have asthma. But I have been able
to be one of the top PT students in my jrotc battalion. Do you think if I
were to talk to my doctor I could still have a chance?
Hey I was just wondering if someone has and irregular heart beat that does not affect your health what so ever could you still join the military and what branch
so what would happen if the drill instructors found out it was a recruits birthday?
creepdad they fuck with your more and you'll get fucked up all day.
creepdad in my platoon they made the recruit go into the gas chamber a few times and fucked him up inside
Joe Parga , like literally fucked him up?
Dylan Warren like they basically it'd him
Joe Parga what the fuck is "to it"?
Clayton Filpo
can you bring an address book with you to boot camp if you have moltipal people you hope to right too?
are you allowed to bring an address book with you to boot camp? I leave in November
Yep. bring a small one that can fit in a cargo pocket
hey filpo do you bring your phone to the place as soon as you get there
Can I mail my recuiter encouragement cards although they don't fit in the standard 10 envelope. It's a bit bigger like a hallmark envelope / card ?
The stuff you do during training, the difficulty of it, should I get big (strong) before I go, should I work on stamina and agility?
My boyfriend is in week 5 now and i've only gotten one letter. do you have any idea why i'm not getting mail from him? i've written him every day but i've got nothing back. i just wanted to know your thoughts
The one thing that is promised to them is that they will receive mail, pretty much no matter what. It's possible that there is some sort of clerical error, but I doubt it since you already received a letter from him. You kind of have to go out of your way not to write mail back to your girlfriend.
Does the DI make you open the mail infront of him/her when you recive the mail if there is something in it?
Which do you like better call of did or rainbow six and which is more realistic
Hey I'm planing on joining the army and staying there. Is there any way going about doing that while your younger ? Like a youth boot camp and then you could transfer to an adult camp when your ready
Don't recruiters post poolee addresses online ? I've seen it on some RS' page ?
about how much longer does it take for recruits to get mail during range week
ClaytonFilpo haha yeah I hear you.
You and some of your friends should make comedy plays about how boot camp is. People would really like to see something funny but real. Or other funny stuff in the military. That would be something new and cool.
Do they open it before or anything like that to check the envelope and do they read it
It's your boi Clayton filpo
can I join the military with hemophilia, I have done a lot of research and have found nothing and was hoping that you might know
So my bf is at bootcamp and he graduates in like a week but he wrote me and told me to send him this bracelet that I got him before I left. He will not be getting leave and I’m just confused on what to do...?
It sucks but just be there for him
Thanks, from a recruit's proud mom.
Haha awesome video brother, HOOAH!
Ericka Bernie you're the best Goddess Ericka.
Ericka Bernie I love you so much 🎖
Isn't Marines Hoorah? Nah, I must be slow.
hey man can you talk about swimming qualifications while at boot camp love the videos man keep it up
already got a video on swim qual bro beans!
So if someone actually sends you a package, like whatever... Say it's a small non-edible item. Will they take it from you, or are you allowed to keep it?
The*Muppet*King Depends on the DI
I was watching another boot camp video, and it mentioned that family should send protein bars. What's your thought on that?
BatmanSpideyDa3rd go for it kids from my platoon got boxes of protein bars and they were passed out to our platoon
Better send enough for the entire platoon. Otherwise you won't get to eat them.
I am considering going through the rotc and then going over seas what are the chances of me being shot?
Going through Rotc doesn't mean you've been trained in the military, not even close. You have to sign up for the branch you want to serve under, and they'll train you well enough to survive overseas.
My Dad went thru Army boot camp at Ft. Hood at 34.5!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be leaving on 9/11/17
and I am just thinking for birthdays is there something special event thing you squad will do and for bootcamp graduation do we have like a way for family to come to our graduation.
How much time do they give you to write letters ?
You pretty much have an hour of 'free time' every night (and 4 hours Sunday morning if I remember correctly), so you squeeze letter writing in then. You'll have plenty of other things that need to be done during that time though.
Wait what happens if they figure out it's your birthday? I'll be in boot camp on my 19th. (Navy or Marines, depends on the jobs offered)
When should I get into contact with a recruiter I am currently a sophomore in high school and I am 15 also if my school offers a program for the Air Force should I still become a part of that even though I want to go into a different branch
do they perform a physical exam once you get to boot camp?
na
thanks and nice vids keep it up
You do that before you even head to Boot, I believe.
