    I really wish you would have told us what the cardboard type and thickness was that you used. Please share.

    I've been trying to figure out how to make jigsaw puzzles with 3 mil plywood base instead of cardboard for some time now. The air assist helps as well as cutting the bottom side up. Still charring problems. Using 1/8 acrylic makes nice clean cuts but wooden jigsaw puzzles are the ones people collect. If you ever figure out a wooden puzzle system let me know... oh should mention the tape idea is great but for any sort of mass production it is out of the question.

    I have a different laser but I have been looking into making jigsaw puzzles. Very handy video.

    I wonder how hard it would be to put the laser in a big balloon full of argon to save the burning and hence the tape.

    What is the minimum laser power required to make puzzles?

    Did the puzzle get drawn freehand?

    Was the photo on gloss photo paper or regular printer paper?

      Looks like semi-gloss AKA lustre inkjet photo paper.

    Basically you can use a lazer to cut out a puzzle ? I’m trying to start a jigsaw puzzle business and need ideas to get them cut. Bulk orders are killing my business

    • @rockler
      @rockler  Рік тому

      Yes, you can cut many types of materials with a laser cutter.

      @@rockler it won’t burn the cardboard? I saw the tape, is that for preventing the burning? Or will it still burn

    • @rockler
      @rockler  Рік тому +1

      Jump to 2:10 in the video. The masking will help prevent burning on the surface. Testing settings on your individual laser to find the right settings will be needed to not burn. You can see at 3:15 he ran test cuts to find the best settings.

    Why didn't you just get a FREE box from the post office and cover the top with your pic?
