Could not be classically punk if it tipped the timer over the 3 minute mark. Purists would argue 3 minutes is already a breakaway pattern from traditional punk genre song layout and length. I really enjoyed the lyrical pattern choices as well. Such as lack of repetition of words, including a clear chorus. But the singer keeps the listener engaged, and the music itself drives the song forward at a quick clip. The band itself is tight. I really like this song. 🎉
This was one the the very rare songs, that I instantly loved on the very first listen. The energy and spirit of the song has always swallowed me right up.

I walked into a restaurant tonight and this was playing. I blurted out “whoa, I haven’t heard this song in twenty years!” I then realized it was the first time I’ve ever said that. Anyone else feel like 2004 wasn’t that long ago?
We have mtv classic videos playing at work and this song just came on. I haven’t thought of this song in years and of course now I want to watch “Rescue Me” What a great song
Way back in the day (2004), I saw this band and the Donnas play a live show in a tiny little venue in Pittsburgh. And they was AMAZING! Other than the music, the thing I remember most was that it was my birthday and I went with one of my close friends who was very shocked that I suggested it (she loves this genre and didn't know that I did as well).
I can't believe I forgot about this song! Ah, high school days. I remember when it came out. I hope there will be another garage rock revival, it's due!
Never get tired of this song, just badass and gets me pumped every time. I love watching Rescue Me too so its gets me siked up for every great episode.
If there ever was a perfectly appropriate Theme song to reflect the mood of the show, This was definitely it. Rescue Me brought me here and I'm glad it did.
Oh the many hours spent of my youth updating rosters and teams listening to this song along with the rest of the MVP Baseball 2004 songs! A place in my heart forever.
Rescue Me tá sendo reprisada na Warner e aí bateu aquela nostalgia, que bom poder ouvir de novo essa música. Como a gente pode esquecer de coisas boas? Que doideira rs

@1:57 "And know this day, these deepened wounds...don't heal so fast, can't hear me croon.." They started to go in at the end of the song. Always loved that part.
I've stumbled across this song in the strangest way. Ever since this has been my number one favorite song. I wish there where more remixes or live concerts to hear the song in different forms
I was brought here by a Rolling Stone article, entitled "The 100 Greatest TV Theme Songs of All Time." Usually I avoid such rankings because they are entirely subjective and often annoy me. When it comes to music, however, I have this fear that there might be the most incredible song or piece of music out there that I haven't heard yet, and so I thought that I would check out this article. Since I'm not much of a television watcher, I am very happy to have discovered this article and, thereby, this song, because I may well have lived the rest of my life without ever hearing it.
And know these days, these deepens wounds, don’t heal so fast, can’t hear me croon, of the million lies that speak no truth, of a time gone by the now is through. One of the best lyrics ever written.
