Listening to you talk about your furbaby bought floods of tears....my thoughts went to my furbabies. One of my furbabies also forever fell asleep at home. The Vet & tech were so kind. So freaking hard to lose our four legged family members 😢. My son & his family live in Alaska, I used to many moons ago. I love going once a year to visit them.

Great video, not at the start, that was tough to listen too, sad to have to say goodbye to a treasured pet family member, so quickly too, in my thoughts, my motley lot are sending a doggy hug. from me to you. I love to cook in ceramic dishes and now i make my own even better, friends and family are always pleased to receive it, my cousin said we would have to eat the pudding so i could take my dish home , when i told her that was her present she was really happy, we did eat the pudding and it washed well in the dishwasher too. Yes, yes, yes you said it. Thinking what would I comment? You said it 9:40. The thermal mass of clay helps bake good food. Something we've forgot today but had the benefit of back to the caveman days. This has been on my list but after 25 years of hand building, I'm all wheel now. This is much in the Slovenian pots including a wheel thrown scalloped cylinder that's then cut in half.
Glad to know of Laps of Love. Here, luckily it turned out beautiful with vet he knew and loved coming out to the SUV, but it was the concern sitting up with him that last night. Four months before I could get in front of a camera and make a pet plate but even then. Even now, our special fiends are so special.

Some dogs live in a piece of our heart than can never be touched again. As for the next 4 yrs... thank god for pottery.

Darlin' Tiffy, I tuned in at 5am this morning to watch and was so sad to hear the news. You have had a year from hell and I'm so very sorry for you. You are such a good person and one has to wonder where and why. So I spent your whole video blubbering because our fur babies mean the world to us. We have a similar vet service here in Il. and my daughter used their service. It is such a better way. I pray you get some joy for the holidays and much-needed joy for the new year. I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved one!!!! I know I said it in a previous video that when we lose any loved animal who are our loved children it’s so devastating. I cried with you Tiffani. I completely know what you’re going through. I’m still crying for my heart dog Yoda who passed in June. I don’t think the pain really goes away. It just becomes more bearable over time. Just found your channel today and this is the first video I see. I'm so sorry for the loss of your fur baby ❤ I felt every one of your emotions. I'm a husky owner too, my girl Maya is 12 years old and we also lost her mom, Yuki, just shy of her tenth b-day in 2020, completely out of the blue (lung cancer). We also had another Chow/German Shepard mix girl, Leelou, who passed late 2019 at 18 years old. Just like you, we thought Maya was gonna go first because Yuki was so healthy and fit, but life had other plans. We also put her to sleep at home in Costa Rica and it made all the difference. All of this is to say, may your baby girl continue to comfort you from wherever she is ❤ she knows you're honoring and remembering her with a heart full of love.

Dear Tiffanie. I must say that I could not hold back either, watching you being heartbroken over the loss of your four-legged family member. For that is exactly what our pets are, they are a valuable part of our family and give us joy and comfort as they color our life with theirs. I have had cats live with me most of my life, and it was the first animal I got to know because my mother had a siamese when I was born, so I guess it is in my blood. So, as I watched you and listened to you tell about your loss, I bawled my eyes out. 😪 This passing year and last year were not good to you and I pray your hardship is over and you and your family (incl. dogs), will stay happy and healthy from now on. 💜💛🧡BTW.... I am in tears😢 so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is one of our family members had to be put down with rinal failure and another one with cancer and another one with some kidney disease. And it is never easy. And they will always be loved and missed. We have three new kitties a litter of three and I make my own food for them to reduce the chance of rinal failure. My thoughts are with you ❤️🙏🙏

It has to be the highly cooked and processed food that is killing our pets. I've done a lot of research since Rinka became sick. It's tragic how many people have lost their pets to kidney failure.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your fur baby. It seems like when they leave us they take a piece of our heart with them. We just had to put our beloved dog of 16 years down last month. It was so hard. Hugs 💕

Oh Tiffany I am so very sorry! It’s absolutely decorating. Thank you for sharing the organization that helped you! I absolutely LOVE looking at thrift stores for fun things to slump clay over. My favorites are glass bowls and plates that have texture on the back! I spray them with cooking spray and lay a thick slab over them and press press press!! I also use the foam dishes that meat comes in, or anything from the deli really. They are great forms and don’t cost a thing, come in all shapes and sizes and they make graduations sizes that fit inside of eachother!!

Soooo sorry for your loss Tiffinie! I went through the same thing last year with my Noa. The vet came over to our house which was so much better for her. Plus our other dog Sissi could really say her goodby too. Tough times...😪
@nukuaceramicsbonaire Yes, really tough. Cass, my other husky is a different dog now. He was really anxious and whiny as he knew she was sick. Now he's running around like a puppy. Dogs are amazing, and I'm grateful we have them even if the time isn't nearly long enough.

So sorry for your loss. I understand what you are feeling. I used Lap of Love for my "Oliver".. I didn't want to take him to the vet and say good bye in a cold room. So I called Lap of Love. The vet that came to help him over the rainbow bridge was my previous vet who had retired and was working now for Lap of Love. He made a very hard situation a little better. My Ollie passed away on my lap while I was holding him,(he was a Maltese). I am so grateful that this service exists.. Anyway...pottery is a great way to take your mind away from the everyday...Love your videos by the way!!
@patgalletti6221 Thank you. I'm so sorry you lost your Oliver. Yes, Rinka was too big for my lap, but she rested her head on my feet while I petted her ears, which she loves. Lap of Love made it so much easier.
I feel you. I had arranged for a mobile vet to come by and put my 12 year old pyr down due to his lethargy et al. However, when I got home before the vet arrived, he had already passed,…. Alone… 😢😢😢😢😢😢

Oh my gosh, I just had a idea. I saw you kinda struggle with taking out the bisque mold, I hv same issues. My idea is to put handles/grooves on the inside to have more leverage. 🤯
My heart aches for you. Im listening to your book "The Edge", and it made me smile when I read the name of Mel's dog. Our fur babies are always missed, never forgotten. Its a really hard time.
Life for all of us is changed and challenging right now. My advice is to watch more pottery and "how to videos", read and listen to more books, and do a hiatus period on the stinkin news!

Tiffany, Sharon Hoppe has a 4inch riser to use on her hand building bat system it is I believe 2inch square. Works great and very stable.

I found a plastic tall square container at Dollar Tree and made a plaster mold of it. I want to make a butter dish to fit European style butters.

Anyway back to pottery ( can’t see the keyboard through my tears ) there I see now. This is an amazing idea I use my bread pan all the time but to have one that is made by me I would love. 🥰
@mandyowen4892 Definitely, the hardest part of having pets is losing them, but what joy they bring. I need to replace more of my bakeware with my own pottery as food really does taste better, and it's probably healthier for us, too.

Why would you use underglaze as opposed to white slip? Just curious
@@shelleydoxtdator753 Because my white slip doesn't like or fit this clay. They have different shrink %, so I went with the underglaze. Great question!

Do you think bmix /grog will work for bakeware? I started using it instead of w/o grog and I like it so much more. I’m frustrated with their newest formula w/o grog.
@CarisseH I've made a lot of pie plates out of bmix with sand, and so far, so good. One is 10 years old.
What is the max temp can the bread be baked at? I have been told conflicting temps. Is it the clay or glaze that has restrictions?
@diannaineson4804 It's more about the thermal shock than anything. Always put clay in a cold oven. Groggier clay is better, but I do have pie plates out of bmix that I still use and have for years.
I’m really new to pottery,About how long is too long to leave it on a mold ?
@mindygeist7157 You want it stiff enough to hold its shape. It's a timing thing. Just keep checking the clay as you don't want it shrinking too much around the mold.

I have a super dumb question: how is the clay not sticking to the form? That is my biggest issue. Is it because you have made the form from bisque?
@anniematheson426 Yes, it's bisque clay, and it's porous. My favorite molds/forms are bisque clay.
