The bromance grin when you spot Finley across the campsite ❤. The ending chatting about sharing and reforming future memories of your current experience ❤. So much love in this beautifully filmed documentary.
So true!
What a finely crafted documentary! Not only bike racer, but a great story teller as well! Looking forward to part the second :)
Thanks for sharing the adventure, definitely a trip to remember
Someday i want to race competition like this
On July 29 , I will compete in the Kaldoaivi Ultra Mtb 130 race in Lapland Finland
Your videos just makes me want to ride until the wheels literally falls off my bike ❤️
Why only 32 contestants? Looks like a hell of race, Epic, full time worthy…
what shoes are you both wearing? at 11:38... thanks!
Quoc GTXC
@@Fernwee thank you!
Loved part one. I get excited every time there’s a fernwee drop, your content is getting better and better, I love your journey from the early days of fixed crit racing. It’s been bloody expensive buying MAAP though. Your content has worked 🤣🤣
Haha sorry for that ;)
@@Fernwee we need discount codes! Your Styrkr one gets hammered!
Yeap., I broke my bicycle riding on Tanzanias hard gravel along the coast before and after Pangani... 💪💪🚵♂️
Lekker! that's a really beautiful and inspiring adventure...btw, i guess you had power tank for the Karoo 2...otherwise not longer than 10h!
Amazing adventure. I'll ben happy in cycling the brabants mooiste in sept without saddlepain
"it gives them a chance to ride against some Europeans" really?
so kind from you and not imperialist at all... how lucky they are indeed!!!
Nice to see Mike back in long distance beast mode, not just film maker mode
Exactly!
Jeez. 860km, gravel. Niet normaal. Op de weg al heel wat, maar op gravel…🙄
Well done boys, it was sad to hear that last year's winner died. Do you know what happened to him?
Amazing race! What pack are you wearing throughout the whole thing?
Wow, what an adventure.
Awesome video, amazing scenery and great editing. Your channel deserves way more attention. Thanks for that great bike entertainment, you guys delivering week by week.
Do you plan to release an episode about the Hellenic Mountain Race?
Love the freehub goat herding (& how many shits the goats DIDN'T give!😂)
Excellent film as per usual! 👌
8:54 that's waaaaay to many needles! Who place them on the road??
So cool, thanks for the video guys
looks difficult but beautiful. was surprised that the number of participants was so small
i'm sooo jealous not to be there ..
bru, plz tell us how they kept you safe from buffalo, hippo, elephant, etc. during this intense race!
Fantastic as usual, looking forward to the next one 🎉🎉🙏🏁🏁🏁
Good movie with a great scenario, and enjoyed the characters too 😉 Perfect for watching on my sunday’s breakfast. Bravo from🇫🇷

👋👋👋❤️
Love it. Chapeau to you both - looks awesome..❤
Goed bezig!
GG
Trying to convince some friends to plan an African gravel adventure. Would you rather go to Tanzania or Rwanda?
Rwanda or Kenya probably
@@Fernwee Cheers bud!
Loved this video, that‘s the spirit of bike riding, wonderful pictures and great soundtrack, can‘t wait for Part 2!
The raw footage at the end tells what it feels like to ride with very little sleep and having to concentrate for such a long period , especially during the night
I was emotionally touched my Mikey comments from the heart , how he explained what it will feel like in years ahead as you both share and recollect the experience.
Disagree - you both made the right call in doing this Herculean ride together . I would prefer to suffer like you than trade that for position held by Finley
Can’t wait for part 2 😊

Cool video... hairy legs my man 😅 I still shave mine for gravel tours, old roady habit.
Inspiring content as always! Looking forward to part 2 ❤
Such beautiful terrain and an amazing ride …. Thank you for sharing
Alway fun to ride along on another adventure with the crew
Awesome video as always! Looking forward to part 2
This is beautiful, man
Loved it
What a journey and beautiful landscape. The music also fits pretty well with the scenary
Just one word: Great!!!!!
Fantastic episode. Those drone shots at the start and finish 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Can’t wait for the second episode. Absolutely epic adventure!!
Geniet ervan!
epic!
You guys are awesome 👏🏽! Can’t thank you enough for this amazing video as per usual, seeing Europeans portraying such an adventure on African soil is very much needed and definitely appreciated! The best of luck and fun doing what u do best! (Ik kan niet wachten tot deel 2 uitkomt
Groetjes vanuit 010)
Our pleasure!
Again beautifully filmed and edited. It's a privilege to be able to follow along with your adventures on the bicycle.❤ you guys are so lucky to have the means and time to explore these far flung regions of the world at your own pace.
Absolutely feeling very privileged 🫶
What an adventure you had there ! Hope part 2 will be even better . Ride on !
which tires did you ride? 40mm?
Yup, Zipp G40's
thx. would you ride the same again? will be in kenya/tansania soon for bikepacking and I am unsure if I should go wider...
I’d go for 47mm pathfinders instead
When these kinds of Martijn videos show up on my feed, I know this going to be a imax-like cinema experience. Incredible insights and views!
Very inspiring for me as a somewhat new rider who is already absolutely destroyed after 80km and 500m of elevation. Haha

Double Dutch trouble at Mill, doing what they do best and love, riding bikes in extreme beautiful places 🚴👌🏻🚴
You got that right!
