I am an all round crafter, that includes- Sewing- Hand/Machine...SOOO MUCH FABRIC, and 9 working sewing machines, 5 are old Singers! Crochet....SOOO MUCH WOOL! Painting- watercolours/Acrylics...SOOO MANY...you get the IDEA!!😆 Drawing Welding Pottery Sculpture Cross Stitch...SOOO MUCH...yeah, yeah! Card Making...oh, it's all total chaos!! Carpentry...yep, lots of wood, and tools Pyro Writing...thankfully not burned the place down. Engraving...still got all my fingers Blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda, and my enthusiasm changes up very often, jumping on the next thing in a flash. But as I have chronic back pain, I have to do most of it sitting/laying down, on a hospital table..obviously not the welding..so it all ends up in my bedroom. I'm in the process( it looks like an episode of 'Hoarders') of constructing an organised system involving 7 Ikea Billy bookcases, and telescopic hanging storage, so that it's all easy to see/reach/return, and not slap dash, higgledy piggledy, in bags, shoved in drawers, forgotten, so buy more, on my bed, etc, all mixed up....Thank goodness I found your channel!! I love your garage!!
Is not a good idea. I keep my raw fleeces in barrels outside and try to keep all dirty fiber outside. Yes, I have a lot. It is the only income stream at the moment. Each fleece is in its own bag to keep it easier to deal with them. The cold New England winter keeps them safe from infestations.I have a huge collection of mason jars and I am thinking of selling my kits in jars and also storing fiber in them so the separate fibers and colors can be seen easily. Now if I can only figure out a way to organize and build an indoor space for washing, flicking, carding, and wet felting…. I need a studio.
So happy for you, you sound exactly like me before my brain hemorage stroke which took out the use of my right arm and hand and a regular one that affected the left side😣I took my Aunt's bedroom set cuz it's sentimental in 2010 but I never expected to be stuck on the 3rd floor apartment for 19 years so I don't think it's gonna get done! Furniture doesn't need my hands to be able to get into tiny spots like beading a bracelet or Christmas sweater! We take so much for granted, so you enjoy yourself& the heck with anyone who says it looks like a episode of horders! I'm super happy for you❤
I’m a cross stitcher and have tons of floss. I tried multiple methods of organizing until I found one that works great for me. I bought little floss zip lock style bags that have a space for writing the DMC color number and a small hole in the flap beyond the zipper. It enabled me to “file” non DMC brands under the DMC equivalent number, didn’t require removing floss from the skein and winding on anything and the holes enabled me to get large hinged key rings to organize the floss by color number. 3 big rings hold all my floss on cup hooks installed on the inside of my dining room closet. When I have a project I take index cards and write the project name and color number for each color needed, then punch a hole in the card. I remove the colors needed from the floss ring and replace it with the appropriate card. Then I corral all the colors needed for my project on a smaller hinged key ring so nothing gets lost while I’m working on it.
I have been doing my floss for cross stitch since the late 90’s this way! Now I do embroidery with my quilting, no need to change my thread storage. However, still finding the perfect fabric storage now that I have crumbs, strips and salvages to think about. Love your channel and thank you for all you share with us all out here.
I’m a mixed media artist, which includes canvas art, creating memory and jewelry boxes from wooden cigar boxes, and decoupage. I have tons of metal embellishments, decorative chipboard pieces, decorative molds for clay, clear stamps, rice paper, and small hinges, knobs or pulls, and legs for my altered cigar boxes. I would love ideas for storing these items. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful ideas . You are a treasure! 😊🦋
Your yarn storage ideas are awesome! I was skeptical of the Dollar Tree vacuum bags but your tips convinced me to try them. My yarn stash went from 2 bins to 1, with room left over!! We couldn’t believe how well the worked and are now excited to condense our off-season clothes! 🎉
Thank you for showcasing things that don’t cost a lot of money or are impossible to pull together. We’d all love to have the time, money, and ability to actually do a big renovation but the truth is more like; 10 minutes here, 5 minutes there, 1/2 hour on a weekend to paint/paper a whole wall or two! Baby steps work for organizing and decluttering! Good video! I love your work, thanks again.
Just found your channel - LOVING IT! So nice to have someone who organize who isn’t just telling me to buy stuff. Love your ideas and am going to watch many more!!
Love all your ideas. I'm in NZ and am always amazed how much cheaper things are in the US and Canada. So many things aren't available here. But still plenty to get organised with. All the best for your new ideas and solutions. Thank you.
Thank you, Norinne! My whole house is out of control. My crafts are the worse! I love the bullseye idea. I am one who does a million different crafts, but yet most relate to each other. I am overwhelmed with trying to get it together. Honestly, so is everyone else here. I think the bullseye is the biggest thing I am walking away with tonight.Thank you!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer actually, I am trying to find the video/videos about the bullseye idea. Would you please link them please? I'm trying to show my oldest son. Thank you.
OMGosh!!!! I'm embarrassed to say I don't have a video dedicated to it!!! I just talk about it in SO MANY!!! I think I just changed my video line-up this week to do a dedicated video to Bullseye organizing! LOL
I had to start eliminating crafts that I was least interested in because of that. I picked my two favorites, Quilting, and Papercrafts. And let everything else go. Such a relief!! I still get overwhelmed, though, because I use both as an excuse to hold my embroidery floss, buttons, paint, and stencils.🤷♀️ I haven't touched any paint except off white, and I doubt I will ever buy anymore. At least I can use my stencils with my inks, right?💁♀️ I really need to do another purge... 😏
I’m a binder queen. I took all my embroidery flosses and put them in photo sheets. I used index cards to put the numbers on and had a shelf designated for flosses and patterns.
Hello. I am new to your channel and am a quilter. The technique you are describing for folding fabric is known as ruler folding. A common size quilting ruler is 6.5” x 24”. Fold the fabric so the selvedges match then wrap around the ruler with the fold at one end and the selvedges at the other. Once it’s all wrapped, remove the ruler and fold in half so the folded edge is on top of the selvedges. All of your fabric is now the same width and looks so nice stacked up.
I use one of those photo box cases that has 16 boxes inside that hold 4x6 photos. They are great for embellishments. You can get clear, or somewhat clear colored boxes in them. I have two of those cases. I think I paid $12 each for mine. Also great for some of the tools. I also have scissors, brushes, pencils, stylus, pick up tool, and others, in various jars that I fit into a round cookie tin, that I just set onto a kitchen turntable. I'd been collecting jars to decorate with vinyl, but haven't done but one, so far....So, whatever jars fit in the tin, and would hold my tools loosely, I put in. The whole thing cost me what I paid for the turntable, about $8. Everything else, recycled, and on hand.
TYVM for sharing your ideas. I am a "A.D.D." Crafter and dabble in many (probably too many ;O) ) different crafts. I love the rain gutter idea for the ribbon. I would say my main craft is 3D needle felting, so to add my 2 cents... wool is highly attractive to critters, be they dogs, cats, bugs, etc. so I can say without a doubt, (my) best way is to use the closet organizers. I have 3 of the 8 pocket hanging organizers and I put the wool in ziplock gallon size bags (even if it is only an ounce of wool...) I then arrange my colors from top to bottom as so, top is black, skin tones, and greys. then as I go down, browns, purples, blues, greens, yellows, oranges, then on the bottom pockets, reds and pinks. Wool should not be stored where the light gets to it all the time. I have a plastic bear cookie container that I got at wally world for about 4 bucks with animal crackers in it to boot, which I dumped out and gave to the Grands... Anywho, I put my tiny scrap pieces in it to make dryer balls or the inside of another sculpture, but mostly I end up making balls of various sizes which I end up wet felting, to give to my dog and my cat so they feel included and don't try to make off with what I am making... lol... in my home, not a drop of wool gets wasted ;) Underneath the hanging organizers, I have a box for the skewers, needles, chenille stems, (which you can sort by color & putting them into the tubes you get from tinfoil, etc. which are sturdier than paper towel holders... ) and the other assorted supplies needed for sculpting wool. It's so much easier to keep your own inventory to see what you need to replace when the time comes to reorder wool... Well, I am off to check out your other videos. I just found your channel today, so far, I am liking your ideas! God Bless ~
Howdy! I do a lot of drawing, multiple complete sets of different color pencils and alcohol markers, various sketch books, mixed media paper pads etc. Not to mention all the Gelatos, charcoal, oil pastels, PanPastels...( Plus I do a lot of the other stuff you mentioned too.) Love your little garage set up. Very calming and beautiful. Blessings to you from the great Pacific Northwest, Lakewood, Washington! 💛🙏💛
@@phoenixineohp That's brilliant. I'm just about to move my wine storage out of the house, I'll just move it into the craft room and give that a whirl. Thanks for the tip!
I keep my vinyl in a medium basket sitting on my floor, in the corner. Not ideal, because sometimes I need to vacuum it out, with two kitties who make dustbunnies all night long.(where else would they come from? They are the same color!!) My SIL made a 3 column rack to hold my daughters vinyls. She uses a lot But it's about 5 ft wide. She has that space in their basement, I don't.😏 Her bedroom from growing up years is my craftspace. And as happy as I am with it, I don't want to totally take over her room. It's also our guest room, (with day bed and trundle) and the girls' knickknacks, sports ribbons, and school paraphernalia still decorate some of their shelves.💁♀️
This is a great video. I have a multitude of craft interests, so this was very helpful for me. I need to spend a day organizing, so I can spend more time crafting then trying to find a specific yarn, material, paper, ephemera, felting, project, paint, and all the associated tools. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Hi Norrine. Awesome video. I am a card maker and occasional knitter. I have my yarn currently stored safely in large Rubbermaid totes in the basement. I am currently revamping my card room. I spent a few hours sorting my card stock scraps by colour and store them in clear vinyl pouches. Since I did this in early August I am proud to say that I am ACTUALLY using my scraps because I see them and know what I have. I have repurposed a change table into stamp and die storage still working on that. But it is so encouraging to see my progress. Please keep making these helpful and common sense videos -- believe me when I say I need all the help you can offer. Thanks so much. 😊
Brendaelaine - I am SO excited for you!!!!! Please take pictures! I'd love to see what you've done and continue to hear about your progress!!! So awesome!!!!
I remember the gutters. I am working on getting my house ready to sell and move to a 55+ community where they have nice homes but will hopefully find one when I am ready that has a big double garage. Some don't have one at all. Either the lot size didn't allow or they just didn't need one...I do. Not for my car tho. I think my car would faint dead away if I ever put it in a garage. 🤪 I just have stuff in storage to move out. I am also not one to get rid of stuff, but will have to. Have you ever gotten rid of something and then find you wish you still had it? I do love what you have done in your garage. Thanks for all the years of great tips. Happy New Year (2024). Where does the time go? 😳
The ONLY thing I have regret with is some depression glass I had.... but I remind myself I can buy more if I REALLY miss it. And each time I find it, I end up deciding I still don't need it. LOL
Nancy Zieman (from Sewing with Nancy, may she rest peacefully) had this idea to use old folders for folding fabric around. We have so many left over at the end of our kids' school year, it's a great way to recycle them. I like this idea in combination with another from a UA-camr and fellow crafter who use to be teacher. She used Dollar Tree dish racks to fold and display fabric. Thank you so much for sharing Norine! As always, you have amazing ideas.
I store my brushes in comic decoupaged or decorative ones according to media. I don't use tubes but all my paints are stored in plastic bins by type and color. I get my bins from $ Tree, Walmart and thrift stores
Storing jewellery stuff, embellishments, die cuts, stamps, embossing folders and tools is a big one for me as I love to junk journal. Love the ribbon gutter storage idea but guttering isn't cheap where I live 😔
We own a guttering business. When installing new gutters the old get pulled off and thrown out or sold for scrap metal. Often we have people wanting some and we will just give it to them. Spray paint if scratched and your ready to go!
I just had my gutters done and asked my contractor to save a few with end caps to use as planter boxes....I may be using them in the craft room instead! TYFS ❤️🦋💜
Depends on the volume of each type of item and your organization style. For example, when I had fewer rubber stamps, I kept them in a (new/clean) shallow pizza-type box, where I could see every stamp when I lifted the lid. Now that I’ve outgrown that box, I’ve graduated to a craft cabinet.
I am a full on disaster! lol. My craft room is spilling out over into the living room & dining room! this is a wonderful plan for somebody who is seriously ADD! I love organizing, but… you have some amazing ideas and I am definitely operating on a budget! I will be trying to put this in to play in my own space. Wish me luck.
With so much of, and so many different perishable type supplies I like the idea of ziplock, or vacuum bags to store things in. This would keep it organized and safe from dust and pests.
Great video! I’d love a video about storing clear stamps, metal cutting dies, and glass beads. Also curious about if people who have several hobbies use some kind of inventory system. Thanks!
Great ideas as always! If you are limited in space and household real estate, you might choose a digital hobby. I do digital scrapbooking with Adobe Photoshop Elements. All I need is my laptop, some external hard drives (you could use the cloud instead of physical hard drives) and organization. Everything can be done digitally, saved as a jpg file, uploaded to Shutterfly, create a book and have it printed. I've done genealogy books this way, recipe books this way, my DAR chapter scrapbooks, Bible study and journaling books, gifts for nieces/nephews and grandnieces/grandnephews, books on history with current events. I've even written some children's books for the grands with pictures of themselves as the main character (examples Brooke In Space, Once Upon A Time There Was A Boy Named Brett). This takes up zero space in your home. I believe it keeps the costs down (printing the books isn't cheap but I wait for sales). No clutter. My laptop is highly organized. I have folders, sub-folders and I'm careful in how I name files. I can generally find what I need to build each 12 x 12 page. So your organization is digital. There is no clutter, no unfinished projects laying around, no equipment and supplies to store, etc. I taught myself how to use Photoshop Elements with books from the library. I've been doing it over 10 yrs now and I can't imagine going back. I haven't had to purchase digital elements to use because there are generous people who offer freebies all the time. Organization is KEY with your files. You keep up with your digital papers, elements, fonts, masks, etc. Let's say you want to keep your papers organized. Create a folder called "My Papers" then create subfolders for each color. In my case I would have Blue solid papers and Blue papers with designs. You can get more organized by creating sub-subfolders. So, in my example, I have a folder for Blue solid papers but there are a whole range of blues such as pale blue, turquoise blue, dark blue, navy blue, royal blue, aqua blue, teal blue, etc. You can create sub-subfolders for those different shades of blue. Subfolders such as Blue Turquoise Solids and Blue Turquoise Designs OR you can name your files with the shades of blue such as BlueTurquoiseSolidbyJaneDoeofDoeDesigns10-1-2021 or BlueTealSolidbyChristyNonameof HelloChristyScrapbooks10-2-2021. Then you sort your folder alphabetically and you have all the BlueTurquoises together and all the BlueTeals together. I have learned one thing I wish someone had told me when I started and that is to keep the source of your digital elements in some way (by creating file names with that info or folders with that info). That way I could have given credit and would be able to enter my digital scrapbook pages in online Galleries. But I didn't do that and I regret it. I also wish I had kept the original digital files together under the designer's name as well as duplicating them into my organization system. Why? Because the colors and styles go together AND for the reason I mentioned above, I can give credit and enter my work in Galleries. You would be duplicating the files, doubling the file storage but I really wish I had done that. Let's say one external hard drive are the kit files organized by designers/vendors and another external hard drive with the files organized by type, color, etc. Another example: digital flowers. There are real looking roses, rose bushes, rose bouquets, painted roses, sketched or handdrawn roses, rose stickers, roses on other elements such as roses on brads, roses on banners, roses on journaling blocks. There are also pink roses, red roses, yellow roses, peach roses, white roses. You have to decide how you want to organize your roses and other flowers in a way that makes sense to you so you can easily find what you are looking for.
This is a great video. My craft storage is always a mess. I'd love ideas on how to store floral items and different shaped and types of wreaths. I haven't come up with a way to organize them and they take up so much space. Thanks for making this one!
Creatives need great organizing to keep sane! Thank you for the range of type of crafts storage, also it occurs to me that the specific ideas could apply to other craft supplies! Blessed and safe days!
Absolutely true! I look at hardware storage/organizing so often... because we both have tons of 'smalls' to contend with! Ideas can always be shared with other mediums. Thanks for watching!
I use comic cardboard sheets ordered from Amazon and not expensive to wrap all of my fabric around. Mine stands up in an old China cabinet I painted. It looks beautiful.
You can cut recycled cardboard to whatever size your cabinet is... or, many of my sewers use the cardboard backers for Comic books. They seem to be a nice size. Hope that helps! Sorry for the long link: www.amazon.com/BCW-Backing-Boards-10-Silver/dp/B0034U9I24/ref=sr_1_10?crid=1EBQK7BE7HM5Z&dchild=1&keywords=comic+book+boards&qid=1633355930&sprefix=comic+book+%2Caps%2C245&sr=8-10
An excellent channel to watch for keeping fabric organized is Mister Domestic! Matthew is an amazing crafter, and does wonders with fabric and yarn. I had to giggle about the ribbon...maybe "most" crafters use a lot, but it's the one supply I rarely use at all, and have very little. In fact, most of it is packed away with the holiday wrapping paper, as that's about the only time I use ribbon. LOL
@@TheCraftyOrganizer LOL I'd glady send it to you, but it's not even "good" ribbon; mostly just that cheap, thin, curl-with-scissor-blade kind of stuff...not fabric ribbon.
I am a multicrafter. I embroider, cross stitch, sew, quilt, knit, crochet and recently started doing some papercrafts. I do not like to leave thread, yarn or fabric in open bins. They collect dust and pet dander which aggravate my allergies. I have a set of Martha Stewart containers in four sizes. I am able to change out the contents as I acquire or use items. I use the smaller containers as project boxes. They currently occupy about 3 feet of a spare closet in a stack about 4+1/2 feet high. I recently made a peg board for my craft corner. I now have an 8 foot home for all my tools. I no longer have to remember which container I put them in. Such a relief! If you have more yarn than totes, the vacuum bags are a God send.....now you have me rethinking my ribbon.....
So many great ideas! I actually used the hanging shoe organizers for my spray paint collection. They're hanging in my attic stairwell it's a somewhat temp controlled and very accessible to me. I like this better than keeping them in my craft space or in the garage.
Wonderful ideas. My crafts are extending into other rooms as zones. Since I live alone it works for me. I have my coloring stuff in dining room in bottom of my china hutch in addition to a cart bought at Michaels. The bonus is I can watch tv while coloring since the dining room and living room are together. I packed up my china lol
I’m ready to see what you have to show for organization because I have very many different craft supplies. Pretty much almost any craft, or sewing projects I have the supplies! After my four kids moved out I replaced all the rooms with my supplies.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Well actually all of my supplies are in the largest ex-bedroom,except for some fabric/yarn/& clay supplies. I also have a small cabin that has my wood working supplies. I wasn’t originally going to use my cabin for my hobbies because it’s more for a retreat, but since I’ll be cutting wood outside I felt it appropriate. I’m afraid my husband would at times refer to my stuff as a bit of a nightmare, yet whenever he needs to borrow something he’s glad I have it. Lol I’d love for you to come visit and maybe you could help me better organize my collection! Lol
You're simply the Best with well thought out ideas! I took the easy route and took screen shots of several ideas I want to use when I create my craft room. Thanks! Karen in Marshfield, MO.
I do a lot of wreath making. I would love some ideas on how to store completed wreaths and how to store all the mesh, signs, plaques, ties. Wreath frames, embellishments, etc. in a small guest room I also have tons of ribbon it’s insane how much I have.
I keep felt sheets in a accordion plastic organizer and file by color. I don’t have a lot. But I was thinking to use a hanging file folder and put in a file cabinet that I rescued. I have lots of hanging file crates currently. I plan to transfer those files into the file cabinet in my storage room. And use the crates for other items. I’m going to take pictures and vlogging the transformation of my crafts storage room. Inspired by your ideas and another video that I watched where the lady used diy ideas to organize her craft room.
That's a great idea!!!!!!! I always suggest using what you have... And it's so easy to elevate the look so it matches a theme. You can spray paint the crates any color, and cover the front hanging file in a cute paper so the boxes are pretty from the front!
If you have a medium picture frame or big picture frame Take the glass out and the wood back ,and use the frame you can use that a ribbon holder, use white picture hooks Each end. Makes a lovely frame for ribbons.
Wow! So many ideas. I am stopping the video at each idea I want to use and running to my craft room to execute the idea. Otherwise I'll never get it done! Thanks
I use the cardboard crates that produce come in to store a lot of different things. The crates come in all kinds of sizes and strengths. The secret is to match the style up and then cover them. Most of them have tabs that make them stackable. I'm currently not making jewelry, so I have the different beads, hooks, pins, etc. in small plastic containers with lids ($$ Tree) which I lay on their sides and "stack" them from one side of the crate to the other. If there's still room I add other things. They then slide very easily under my bed. My wood-mounted stamps are organized in a crate under my bed. They are so easy to slide out. I've also used the idea to put cut-out magazine pictures in to collage with. I later categorize them according to subject and then file them.
a wonderful reality video. I recently reorganized my craft room and now I find myself enjoying just being in there for quiet time away from the running of a household. It also motivated me to organize the subcraftroom (the parlor of my 1918 farmhouse). I keep my sewing items and machines in this extra "Livingroom". Saying that I have to keep it company ready. Thank for all your wonderful tips
Great video. I'm in an apartment & I have to keep my stuff in my bedroom. I am a cardmarker, a scrapbooker, and I love my adult colouring books. Some useful tips here!
This was very informative, I do dollar tree crafts so there are wooden pieces, signs that are recycled to make your own , decoupage items, also different holiday diys. I could use help with that kind of storage.
One large box gives you a set space for all of those things - as well as a visual limit on how much you can have! If it's overflowing, you either have to donate some of the older items you've not used, hold off on new purchases for a bit, or get busy crafting. This single trick has helped me immensely with keeping my craft room clutter at bay! It's not as much fun though. :D
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I agree I’ve kept buying and then when I started to decorate or do crafts I got COVID after being vaccinated, now fell and hurt left wrist and hand. Also have fibro and now adrenal insufficiency issues. So I love crafting its just lately I can’t win for losing. But my husband bought shelves in the garage for me so I can store items in tubs so I don’t have to take them down to get to the bottom tubs like I have to do in craft room closet. So that will help. I’m also going through stuff to donate if I know I’m not going to use them anymore
OMGosh!!! You need a break! Hope you are recovered from Covid and your wrist is healing! You poor thing!!!! Smaller bins on those new shelves will help greatly.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer it was outstanding! Such good information and ideas. I always find a tremendous amount of inspiration from every video you produce!
Thank you! Yes, right now I'm waiting for our two bedroom. Im just starting out and will have a small bedroom but i dont have money to custom anything. Thank you, I am on a budget!
You pretty much hit all my crafts: quilting, embroidery, making journals and other various crafts on occasion. But I also do genealogy so I have six 3" binders and file folders and boxes of photos now that need organization by family. I also have done some diamond painting ( which is sticking tiny flat backed gems on canvas images). Not only do you need to store the gems that come with your kit while you work on it, you are also left with extra diamonds which so far I have stored in small stacking bead jars to use on future projects. It's cheaper to buy several painting kits at once to save on shipping and some people have tons of these. Some companies package everything in a boxy tube but the ones in my budget just come rolled and shipped in a bubble envelope package. I have to iron them cautiously to get the folds out and find a place to store them flat so they won't re-roll. I am in the process of organizing my craft studio which is an 8x10 bedroom and I have 5 black bookshelves. I've used black, white and gray for colors as my art will be very colorful on the wall space left. I've used so many of your ideas and they have been so helpful!
I have empty prescription bottles that work well for storing small beads and the diamond dots. I get 3 prescriptions. a month so the bottles are basically free.
Spice racks and the picture ledge by Ikea are what I used. 4 ledges and 6 spice racks. I use to have loads of fabric but now I like to paint fabric myself.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Yes it is and once you learn about layering color, stenciling, rubber stamping and the final hand work with black and/or white the results are masterpieces while just having fun. I could send you pictures if you like.
Thank you for sharing your storage ideas for craft supplies. For my ribbon rolls I bought two pant hangers that have three “swing out” rods. I hang my ribbons by size, brand, and color and hang them on the back of my craft room door so they’re not “out of sight, out of mind.” I also bought hanging shoe holders for my punches. I punched one of whatever is in that particular space and taped it to the front of the space. Then I hung them in my closet. Otherwise I had them in a box and had to take the time to look for the one I wanted. It took so much time. I also wrote what size it was on the punched piece. Ty for your time and ideas!
I generally just have a corner or a room to craft. I have a 6’ folding table and shelf unit. All stamps, dies/hot foil plates , stickers and and stencils are in binders (one binder for each category) and stand on a shelf. Ribbon, washi tape and all rolls of paper are on curtain rods or dowels and hung. I still have some things to figure out but it’s a start. Love the tips!!
Bonnie! I'd love to see your set-up!!!! It sounds like you have absolutely utilized your space perfectly! Love your use of binders in this space!!!! I applaud you!
My current crafts are crocheting, cross stitch, & card making using the wooden stamps (without the handle). I would like your suggestion for storing the wooden stamps. I do use cubbies for yarn storage & it is very effective for me. I use cardboard or plastic to wind floss around & store in divided tackle box. Another storage solution for ribbon is in jars, separate jar for each color. I have seen other UA-camrs organize ribbon that way too.
Go to your local pizza shop and ask for a few new boxes. Sometimes they charge, but most of the time it would be free. You can then break down your wooden stamps by category in those pizza boxes! You could cover the boxes or decorate to match your room décor. Stack them on a shelf and just pull out the category box you need when stamping!
My creative outlet is painting furniture. Most of the paint I use comes in quart jars, and they take up a lot of room. Not to mention, the brushes, sand paper, finishing tools, etc. Right now, I have it stored on a 3 shelf floor rack in my laundry room, but my laundry room is fairly small, so there isn’t much room left for laundry supplies. I can store some of the non-paint supplies in my garage, but I don’t want to store the paint out there. Especially, in the summer. I would really love some ideas to store these supplies. I also recently purchased a Cricut Joy, so I’ll be needing storage for those items, as well. Lots of things going on in my world.
I would make a shelf to fit those jars that could fit behind a door or slide out from behind a bookcase...... Like this one: ua-cam.com/video/ANKwCKhdON4/v-deo.html
Love your videos, really need ideas for large quantities of metal dies. I use them alot, but it's getting hard to go through them all to find one. Especially the little ones. Thanks!
My ribbon and stencil storage (7 years and holding): ribbon in 2 yard cuts hung on necktie hangers. Hangers are hung on small dowels suspended in chain links. I have 5 dowels filled with ribbon. The entire thing hangs on the back of my craft room door. Cheap and visual solution. For my stencils, I attach small plastic retail adhesive j hooks and hang them on 2 6” pegboard hooks. They are easy to flip through, easy to take one down at a time and they never tangle, bend and get ruined. Also, I can rinse them then put them away to dry. Mine hang behind my desk so all I do is swivel to get them!
Have been using your paper storage idea (12 x 12 scrapbook sheet protectors in a box) for my scraps since I watched your original video. Genius! Has worked wonderfully for me.
Oh my gosh! Thank u so much ! This is soooo relatable! My space is in my garage too, shared w my son's model train space, and our regular car and house tools, and our wood working stuff... I do metalsmith, seqing, laser, embroidery, scrapbook.... Yyyaa im THAT crazy crafter lol! Thank you!
Oh bummer, I missed your live stream, shucks. I will just have to be happy with the replay. Information sounds like a great idea for me. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
I built a version of your rolling rack organizers. I haven't finished putting everything on it yet but I've decided to use it for all of my floral items. I'm super excited about it and am loving it and am pretty darn proud of myself too! Thanks so much for the great ideas and inspiring me❤️
THAT IS SO COOL!!!!! Please share a picture of it!!!! You can share them to my Crafty Organizer page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/ or email it to me Norrine@Crafty-Organizer.com
My creative outlet is gardening. Luckily, I've got most of what I need organized in my garage. I have a peg board up for smaller items. I found a small discarded bookshelf that I used a spade bit, drilling coordinating holes from top to bottom that holds all my gardening tools with long handles. Dollar store bins in the same color hold misc items and make the storage look uniform. I got a few ideas from your videos...so thank you for that!
My nemesis is paper. I print out all sorts for Shrink Art, shapes like dominoes, circles and squares, etc...mostly small shapes. I have a sort of filing system but within each subject matter there are multiple categories. It gets overwhelming and I tend to just throw them in a pile and thinking...I'll get to them sometime. BTW: I love watching your video's and your ideas have helped me organize better. I just moved so I'm lucky to have more space to work and have more storage. Thank you for your gentle manner and for your expert advice
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Cathey DeRosa Cathey DeRosa 0 seconds ago I recently moved from a one bedroom apartment to a decent sized house. I would love to show you some examples of my "piles", but I'll have to discover them first! Sounds funny...but!
Great video! The best tip I’ve ever gotten from you is not to over organize into so many categories that you end up not being able to find anything! I reorganized into broader categories and it’s much better. Thank you.
I’d like storage ideas for all my Tim Holtz products Ex: oxide sprays, ink pads, alcohol inks, etc. I currently have my sprays on 2 decorative wall shelves, but my distress inks and alcohol inks are in tins. Also I’d love ideas for all my distress ink blending tools. I have one for each color and currently have them in a drawer. Love your channel and great ideas 🥰 Thanks!
I am an all round crafter, that includes-
Sewing- Hand/Machine...SOOO MUCH FABRIC, and 9 working sewing machines, 5 are old Singers!
Crochet....SOOO MUCH WOOL!
Painting- watercolours/Acrylics...SOOO MANY...you get the IDEA!!😆
Drawing
Welding
Pottery
Sculpture
Cross Stitch...SOOO MUCH...yeah, yeah!
Card Making...oh, it's all total chaos!!
Carpentry...yep, lots of wood, and tools
Pyro Writing...thankfully not burned the place down.
Engraving...still got all my fingers
Blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda, and my enthusiasm changes up very often, jumping on the next thing in a flash.
I am a fiber artist and do my own processing of wool. You need to always think of moths so keeping open wool in shoeorganizer
TRINA!!!! Have you shared that with me before???? OMGosh! That is genius and I'd love to share photos in part two!!!!
This my system too! Love how easy it is to find colors. Very low maintenance system. I am up to 4 pairs of 4” rings.
I have this system as well. I keep them all in a large plastic tote as I do not have the wall space. Has worked for me for many years.
that is brilliant I no longer cross stitch, but this would've been a huge help when I did!
That sounds like such a fun project to get in and play with!!!!!! Where do you live??? LOL
That is so exciting to hear!!!!!!
So glad you liked them! Thanks for being here!
Just found your channel - LOVING IT! So nice to have someone who organize who isn’t just telling me to buy stuff. Love your ideas and am going to watch many more!!
Yay! So happy to have you here with me.
At least I can use my stencils with my inks, right?💁♀️
I really need to do another purge... 😏

I’m a binder queen. I took all my embroidery flosses and put them in photo sheets. I used index cards to put the numbers on and had a shelf designated for flosses and patterns.
Brilliant!
Jewelry making and the wooden decor items that I paint. Also silk flowers and picks need organized.
Great suggestions!!

I enjoyed this very much. As a scrapbooker I'd love to see a video on all the ways to store All those little embellishments and tools I have. 🍁😊🍁
Send me a quick picture of what you have!!!! Norrine@Crafty-organizer.com
she's dpne a few of theselok through her videos on her home page here
I use one of those photo box cases that has 16 boxes inside that hold 4x6 photos.
God Bless ~
I love that your pets get goodies to feel included! lol So glad you found me. Hope to see you again. :D
Jewelry make storage. Have been trying things for several years that will be easy to use and easy to keep tidy.
I'll see what I can do! :D
I would LOVE ideas for storing cricut vinyl. Both the sheets and the extra large rolls. I love your ideas. I finally feel a little organized. :D
I've seen things like wine holders work well for some people. Dowels are also easy to attach to something and hold a roll.
They are the same color!!)
My SIL made a 3 column rack to hold my daughters vinyls.
Coloring supplies for adult coloring. Thank you for all you do
Great suggestion!
This is a great video. I have a multitude of craft interests, so this was very helpful for me. I need to spend a day organizing, so I can spend more time crafting then trying to find a specific yarn, material, paper, ephemera, felting, project, paint, and all the associated tools. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Glad it was helpful!
LOL
Thank you. God bless. Be safe.
Thank you!!!
Wow
Those gutters!
Right???? Pretty amazing and SOOOO affordable!
That's a great idea! I love reusing things whenever possible!!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Nancy! I used to watch her all the time, WAAAAYY back in the day.
I'm sorry to learn that she passed.
This is so encouraging! Thanks Nadine!
Great video. Would love to see storage for art supplies - watecolor, acrylic and oil painting (paints (tubes), brushes, papers, etc.)
Great idea!
9:13 of this video has great suggestion for tubes of paint using binder clips! Great idea Norrine!
This is an older video I did... but lots of good ideas for organizing those small items! ua-cam.com/video/C-Vzjoyh8IM/v-deo.html
We own a guttering business. When installing new gutters the old get pulled off and thrown out or sold for scrap metal. Often we have people wanting some and we will just give it to them. Spray paint if scratched and your ready to go!
YES!!! Love that!
Consider me your personal cheerleader and giver of suggestions! 💜
With so much of, and so many different perishable type supplies I like the idea of ziplock, or vacuum bags to store things in. This would keep it organized and safe from dust and pests.
I love that one too... and so affordable!
Naurin lokkng pretty in white nice video..thx😀😊
Thanks, friend! 💜
Great video! I’d love a video about storing clear stamps, metal cutting dies, and glass beads. Also curious about if people who have several hobbies use some kind of inventory system. Thanks!
Part 2!!!
I love watching your videos so many good ideas.

So smart!!!!!! I'll bet the fabric in that cabinet looks beautiful!
I jumped over to Amazon to look up these cardboards - what size do you use?
You can cut recycled cardboard to whatever size your cabinet is... or, many of my sewers use the cardboard backers for Comic books. They seem to be a nice size. Hope that helps!
LOL
Thanks!! I'll check out Mister Domestic! You made me laugh.... my first thought when you said your ribbon was packed away was.... "send it to me!" LOL
@@TheCraftyOrganizer LOL I'd glady send it to you, but it's not even "good" ribbon; mostly just that cheap, thin, curl-with-scissor-blade kind of stuff...not fabric ribbon.
LOL I have a huge box of that too...... it may be finding a new family soon - I just don't use it anymore. Thanks for the reminder! xoxox
Woohoo on your 8' tool wall!!! That is so awesome, Gail!!!! And I am glad you agree with the vacuum bags. I think they are amazing!
So many great ideas! I actually used the hanging shoe organizers for my spray paint collection. They're hanging in my attic stairwell it's a somewhat temp controlled and very accessible to me. I like this better than keeping them in my craft space or in the garage.
That is awesome!
Always learn something new on organizing. Thank you!!
Thank you for watching!
I think that's super smart!!!! Store it where you use it! So logical to me. :D
I’m ready to see what you have to show for organization because I have very many different craft supplies. Pretty much almost any craft, or sewing projects I have the supplies!
After my four kids moved out I replaced all the rooms with my supplies.
That sounds like a dream house! I am picturing a scrapbook/cardmaking room, a sewing room, a general crafting room......... can I come visit??? LOL
Lol
I’d love for you to come visit and maybe you could help me better organize my collection! Lol

Excellent storage space ideas. Thank you so much. 😉👍❤
You are so welcome!
I would be interested in storage ideas for my copious amount of beads. While I do many other crafts also making jewelry is currently my go to craft.
Great ideas. I’m going to try your method with my paper scraps.
I hope you love it as much as I do!
If you have a medium picture frame or big picture frame Take the glass out and the wood back ,and use the frame you can use that a ribbon holder, use white picture hooks Each end. Makes a lovely frame for ribbons.
And a super cute display too! Thanks, Carol!
These are very helpful ideas for so many crafters! How about some ideas for jewelry making and beading supplies. Love your videos.
Part 2!!!
I love your "fake" room! I wish my craft room looked half as good a yours! You're amazing and thank you for all your great advice.
Thank you so much!!
Wow! So many ideas. I am stopping the video at each idea I want to use and running to my craft room to execute the idea. Otherwise I'll never get it done! Thanks
Love the storage ideas for different crafts. How about dollhouse/miniatures and dioramas
I don't have much experience with those.... want to send me some pictures and I'll see what I can come up with?
@@TheCraftyOrganizer i will take some pics and get back to you. Thanks.
OMGosh! Kay, this sounds amazing!!! Would you mind sharing pictures of this with me??? You can email them to Norrine@Crafty-Organizer.com
a wonderful reality video.
Way to go!!!! I hang out in my craft room too.... I have a lounge chair and will sometimes read or watch a movie on my computer. Enjoy your space!!!!
I'd love to see storage ideas for beads and jewelry making.
Coming up in part 2!! :)
Great video. I'm in an apartment & I have to keep my stuff in my bedroom. I am a cardmarker, a scrapbooker, and I love my adult colouring books. Some useful tips here!
So glad!!! Thanks for being here.
I would love ideas for storing floral stems/bunches and floral supplies
You've got it!!! I'll cover that in part 2 :D
I’m sorry I missed the live feed! I was working but I’m watching now!
No problem 😊 Let me know what you think!!!! :D
@@TheCraftyOrganizer it was outstanding! Such good information and ideas. I always find a tremendous amount of inspiration from every video you produce!
This was so helpful. A lot of my crafts are wood pieces. Would love to see how to organize small to medium wood pieces and even scrap wood. 🤓
I got lucky and have a drawer that I got to store them in.... I did a video on this wood storage: ua-cam.com/video/z8NAR0bcLdc/v-deo.html
Please keep me posted on your craft studio! Love the colors already. :)
OH! I'll bet that fabric is GORGEOUS!!
That's an awesome idea, Mary-Jo!!! And I love that it takes so little space in the closet. Well done!!!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer unfortunately, I just packed everything up. When I get it moved and set back up I will definitely share
Always an abundance of practical and economical tips! Thanks so much! Enjoy listening to you.
Thanks for listening, Lora!!!! :D
Great ideas! Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!!!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer-thanks! I’d also thought about adapting a Billy bookcase from Ikea, or finding something at a thrift store.
Would love to see storage ideas for glassware & dollar tree signs!! They are bulky & fragile
Ok... You should get a award for that! Amazing! 🏆
Have been using your paper storage idea (12 x 12 scrapbook sheet protectors in a box) for my scraps since I watched your original video. Genius! Has worked wonderfully for me.
I am so happy to hear that!!!!! I'm always glad when something works for others as well. Thanks, Cindy!!!
Thank you for your ideas! I would also love to see ideas for washi tape!
You've got it!!! :D
You can share them to my Crafty Organizer page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/
or email it to me Norrine@Crafty-Organizer.com
My creative outlet is gardening. Luckily, I've got most of what I need organized in my garage. I have a peg board up for smaller items. I found a small discarded bookshelf that I used a spade bit, drilling coordinating holes from top to bottom that holds all my gardening tools with long handles. Dollar store bins in the same color hold misc items and make the storage look uniform. I got a few ideas from your videos...so thank you for that!
I am imagining what you did and bet it looks adorable!!!! Well done!!!!
I really enjoyed this video! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So many great ideas!!! Thank you for sharing Norrine!!!💖
Wonderful tips and organizational ideas! Thanks so much for sharing!! Take care! -christine
Thank you! You too!
I think this would be fun to tackle!!!! Can you email me some pictures?? Norrine@Crafty-Organizer.com

I recently moved from a one bedroom apartment to a decent sized house. I would love to show you some examples of my "piles", but I'll have to discover them first! Sounds funny...but!
Great storage ideas. Thanks!
You are welcome!!!! Thanks for watching!
Great video! The best tip I’ve ever gotten from you is not to over organize into so many categories that you end up not being able to find anything! I reorganized into broader categories and it’s much better. Thank you.
OMGosh! I never get tired of hearing that something helped!!! Thank you for sharing and I'm so glad it worked for you!!! :D
As always you gather such great ideas for storing craft materials. Thanks for taking the time to find great cheap ideas for us.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Love this saved for my moves!! Namaste 🥰🐞🤗
Yay, thank you!
I'll see what I can come up with, Gina!!! :) Thanks for being here with me!
Love your ideas! You have such creative ideas! 💡Thank you so much 💓
