Who are we:
Scandinavians Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison are highly regarded designers, textile artists and authors. They are best known for their craft books and their original, colourful and visually striking designs. Their work is highly influenced by their Scandinavian background and their everyday life in rural Norway. They work under their artist name ARNE & CARLOS, which they established in 2002.
We publish a weekly, new tutorial every Sunday on both our UA-cam channel and our Facebook page. We hope you enjoy it!

So, who won? Although we do excel at different things, each design has to be worked on by both of us as a collaboration and we both have a final say in what our work looks like when it's published. That is the best way to create great design, by combining our strengths and listening to each other. As we all know, there is no I in team. I love the mittens, saw the finished result and I'd say you both won. However it was changed to yellow. I really appreciate the instructions you give, they are clear. I like also that you don't tell people they have to do it your way, making things is all about the makers vision. As you say the instructions are a guide to help make and add to the finished product. Love this pattern! It's like a knit coloring book. Also great use for all those little leftover scraps I never know how to use. I'm low key obsessed with the twisted ribbing. And I think Arne wins with the blue blob.

Well, it doesn't really matter if the blue stays or not because now you showed us how to do it, we can choose our own colours and make it unique. I also like just the two coloured version. Very nice design.

The mitten pattern is amazing. I love the stained glass effect with added pops of color. I agree with Carlos about the blue. Also, after the tutorial for the twisted knit stitch I had to cast on a pair of socks using this stitch. I recognized it right away on the mittens. The stitch looks lovely and has become my favorite way to work ribbing.

great, thanks for this lovely video, guys! I made several fingerless mittens this winter with Schachenmayr merino 120 and i casted on 40 or 44 stiches - for women size..just to inspire some people to try the female version! :-)

Thanks for the duplicate stitch demo! I’m anxious to make some of your knitted Christmas balls, but I think I will use this stitch to keep my stress level down. However, I will try making one the traditional way!

Aaaah, I love this, it’s like coloring between the lines with crayons in a coloring book. You could always change the colors later on if you don’t wash the mittens, they would be felted together. I see Freya on Carlos’ lap? Whose mittens are they? That’s the winner.

Your mittens remind me of Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass windows. I predict you will fill in the entire blue areas on the mittens for that reason. It would look stained glass-like. With or without color the mittens are beautiful

I know you kept saying it was like stained glass but just like your title says, I thought immediately of the coloring books for adults that are so popular here, Knit them up and then when you feel stressed, just fill in a black and watch the stress just go away1. Love it.

On screen, the blue didn’t contrast enough against the black or navy in the mitten, maybe a brighter or lighter blue would be my preference, but I realize the blue used may have been brighter than how it appeared. I loved the idea of the blue diamond there, so it will be fun to see how the mitten turned out. I know it will end up perfect! Cheers!

I love this idea! Yet when I first heard you talking about coloring, I thought you were going to use color fabric markers. I didn't think of colored yarn and using the duplicate stitch. I can see this on a border of a bolero or cardigan. I love it! Thanks you guys for giving me more inspiration and viewing things in a different light.
