Check out diamond core bits that attach directly to the m14 spindle on any angle grinder for drilling porcelain, you'll never again use a drill and template! Another tip, masking tape on the wall when holding the sink in place, stops it sliding around, and the pencil mark is much easier to see on the tape👍
I got the bits that attach to the grinder. Trouble is you can’t drill 10mm with those! Good tip on masking tape
@@UrbanPlumbers 10mm? Diameter? I have ones that go down to 6mm. What do you use for smaller holes? Glass bit in a drill?

I replied twice, but my 2 comments isn't showing for some reason... Check Rubi on Screwfix, 4 bits, 6,8,10,12mm for £60. I can't find a link to an individual bit, but I get mine from a local tile shop. About ~£13 for a Rubi 6mm.
You'll find other brands on Amazon and Aliexpress for individual sizes also.

Great job but for the tap connection i would of used flat faced isolation valves as you can go right onto them with those flexi tap connectors and if the taps changeing in future you can isolate them
Yes, i know. Just didn’t have any that go to 12mm

A key installation video is missing - around 0:45 - the adjustible nut - how did you fit it? Did it have a seal? How did you assemble it?
I have a leak there in my sink - and would help if you could upload an updated video showing how to fix this
Really helpful buddy, just about to have a go at this myself (first time) Currently I only have 22mm plywood behind for fixings so i'm a little nervous, would I be better buying a sink bracket to allow more screws in total to compensate? It's a bloomin corner sink and on one side I have a nice noggin, on the other just plywood :D
Depends on the weight of it. I would rather have a bogging. Ply on its own maybe fine, especially when fixing though a tile
Would had been easier to attach the faucet and pop up peice before mounting the sink. Also I would have done the angle stops 1st and pipe flanges to cover holes

those flexible hoses, can you change them afterwards? Im asking this because i bought a kludi faucet and it has those flexible hoses running out from its bottom but you cant see the threads or something......think i have to remove the cartridge from the faucet to get them out?
Urban plumber, I just picked up 2 old C&W cast iron sinks, would like to know if you can put new hot& cold handles in these old sinks

Why not isolation valves for the basin? Was it not better to use pvc to pushfit elbow for the chrome pipe instead of sealant. How lond does it take for the ct1 before you can test?
12mm flex hoses. You would need to import iso valves from Europe for those.

Brilliant video. Do you see any issues with using fernox jointing compound on the threads that the flexible hoses screw onto, just for an extra layer of protection against leaks?
no - absolutely no need for that. Those hoses have rubber washers and noting else should be used.
@@UrbanPlumbers okay, many thanks for your reply. Also do you know what size sds bit you would need with those particular sanitary fixings, if fixing to masonry? I imagine there will be some variation from one manufacturer to another, but would like to know what the typical sizes are. Thank you.
@@MohammedAli-1 for the bolts, usually the size of the drill bit you should use is marked on the wall plugs they come with. Either 10mm or 14mm in my experience

This is a fantastic job, but wanted to ask why did you not put in some isolation valves, so if tap is faulty they can just change it without turning off the mains.
Because the tap has 12mm connections and you cant get isolators of that size in UK. Otherwise regular 15mm would take too much space there and it would look ugly.
Remember - in plumbing it first has to look good, then it needs to be practical if possible - LOL
Instead of putting the fixing screws in with your shifter you can just put the screw in your drill and drill it straight into the timber

No need to put anything between the basin and tiles? I see some putting something like silicone or putty.
no, no need between basin and tiles. But once it is installed you silicone the top
Mate, it’s a Basin or wash basin. A Sink is a culinary appliance found in Kitchens & Utility Rooms.
No mate, you’ve done the chrome waste pipe wrong, fit a Multifit McAlpine bend on your vertical pipe & the CP waste pipe into that. It pops through your finished Bulkhead. Using CT1 into a abs socket is a Botch Cowboy job.
Also, your Basin Fisher bolts; drive them in with your Drill, it’s quicker & easier. Some have a Torx End & you can use your Impact Drill👍👍
Mate, you need some training from a good Plumber to speed you up & make life easier.
