I'm thinking of getting the Mini 4 Pro for the image quality. How does the image compare between these 2 drones? I mean if the Avata 2 can do what the Mini 4 Pro can do, plus all the FPV stuff it's no point in getting the Mini 4 Pro, right?
I really like the DJI Avata 2, but mine has a minor issue with keeping the horizon level straight. I experienced many times that when I am flying straight - using the motion controller - my horizon is little bit tilted to one side, even when no wind blows. Could this be a gimbal or calibration problem?
Bro what are the rules for bringing and flying drones in Thailand? We'll be traveling in November, and I'm planning to bring my mini 3 with me to shoot vídeos with my family. Been watching many of your tutorial vids, really big help, thanks! New sub!👍
What a fantastic review of the new Avata! It was both entertaining and highly informative. The crash with the motorbike and the drone was a bit scary, but I’m really glad to hear you’ve fully healed. Keep up the great work, brother!
Bro you need to be more careful. You're a big help to the community of travelers and videography learners, so there's lots of people looking up to you. Take care and God bless!
ยินดีต้อนรับ ไทยแลนด์ I am glad to see your clips in Thailand with the Dji Avata2. I am also an owner of the Avatar 2 and hope to fly with you someday.
Man, when the drone crashed into the tree, it gave me a heart attack haha! You're so lucky the drone kept flying, because it most likely would have stayed there forever. In any case, I hiked up there just today to film something. Such a peaceful and magical place. Love it!
Thanks, it’s a bit more tricky as it’s HDR. I shoot in D-LOG M converted to SLOG3 with Cinematch and then Resolve Color Management + Look Designer by Color Lab and some more adjustments what I currently use. Will do some tutorials on HDR grading soon.
wow it's really smooth footage man!!! any recommendation specific setting to export the video to get the result as that smooth? like fps, quality, export bit?
Just make sure that you match your frame rate to your timeline. My timeline is 24p, so I have to speed up the 60P footage from the Avatar to 96 or 120% to get it to look smooth. Leaving it at 100% would mean judder. If yours is 25P, shoot at 50P and playback at 100% and for 30P timeline, you can just record in 60P and also leave it at 100%. I also added motion blur in the edit.
Well done, Ron. The Avata 2 camera def has more dynamic range and Transition. Its def an upgrade from the Avata 1 imo. Btw i knew you made this video, but i never got notified for it. I just watched the rerun of DN and was reminded. 🤘
No, I just started color grading for HDR what males it a bit more complicated than using a LUT, It’s D-LOG M converted to SLOG3 with Cinematch and then Resolve Color Management + Look Designer by Color Lab and some more adjustments what I currently use.
i’m still, deciding between the avata 2 and mini 4 pro…cannot decide. i like the follow features of the pro, but i also like the fpv footage. decisions decisions 😊
What I noticed a lot is that the avata footage often looks a bit choppy, so in the intro scene it doesn't look so smooth. Is this intentional because of the frame rate or is just the way it is?
falls you did with avata are so weird I had avata for a ful year i didnt fall once because of hardware, it was always me hitting bushes trees or forgetting usb socket protector half-open
@@pascalbasel yeah it was like its dying but hold up well, however it wasnt like 0 to 300 meters full throttle then go down then immediately 0 to 300 again it's obvious this drone is not built for that kind of stress test 😅
@@pascalbasel also I dont think avata2 is made to enable this kind of action either I have Avata2 and ive done this kind of thing only once I know it doesnt like that forcing so I behave kindly to it
it's not weird. that's avata 1, u are just lucky enough. there are quite alot video they explode props while flying. happens quite alot out there. not weird anymore. that's the problems with avata 1.
Ich staune, dass du noch den vollen Preis für DJi bezahlen musst. Langsam müssten die dich doch auf dem Schirm haben?! 😊 du machst das super. Weiter so. 👍
FYI to those unaware who live in the US, I'd hold off on purchasing any DJI drone until we learn more about the results of the Countering CCP Drones Act that's being voted on as we speak in the Senate. Our drones may become paperweights very soon if this nonsense passes through. That being said, this was a very informative review! Definitely tempting to buy one myself to have alongside my mavic 3.
If it does go through they will come after other Chinese imported drone parts next. Which is pretty much everything. If you're worried about legislation I would hold off on starting in the hobby period. Not just DJI
Pascal.. put a bug in DJI's ear... I think if DJI would come out with a Drone Sim for the PC... it would sell big time. especially with winter coming up... I live in ARIZONA... three months out of the year it's too freekin' HOT to fly outside. except early, early mornings...!! Now they have FPV drones on the market.... What say you.????? I've tried some that are out there and they all suck.!!!
Use floats that way u can swim out and recover the drone and with the insurance recover another drone. Out smart them. This is why they dont make them water proof they want u to destroy your drone.
@@pascalbasel Could be my monitor (it's set to ~60 Hz refresh rate) but are you sure you didn't just put 30 fps or 60 fps video on 24 fps timeline or slowed it down by fraction of percent without using Optical Flow (DaVinci resolve) technique or similar? Without it it picks frame by the nearest neighbor (instead of generating subframes) and this always produce this kind of effect that some frames are displayed double and some not. In result the motion of object sinusoidaly accelerate and slow down.
i am already sick watching your footage. It looks cool when just looking at the footage makes me dizzy (not even flying) you know fpv drones are def. nothing for me :D anybody else feels that way?
What do you think of the DJI Avata 2? Is it finally the perfect travel FPV drone?

Awesome! Can you do tutorial for color grading avata 2?
Wow so beautiful footage. I really like this.

Your review is really great (I watched dozens of other A2 reviews) and I agree with you on all points.👍
I have the Avata 2 and it’s amazing!!! Nice video thank you!!
You flight is so beautiful, I like the colour. 👍😊 liked and subbed
15:14 what is that crawling away to the left of the video on the ground??
gracias, con toda la información que me diste , ahora si me voy a comprar el avata 2 :D saludos desde Cerro de Pasco Perú
In your personal experience, do you think that fpv is the way to go or just a regular drone footage coming out of something like a DJI mini one?
This lut pack is niceeee

It really depends on what you want to do with. Fun and action = Avata 2/FPV, storytelling, normal UA-cam videos & holiday footage etc = Mini 4 Pro.
just buy both .. hahah.. it solve all the problem
Hello. What camera you use for filming yourself? thx
Sony a9iii and DJI Pocket 3

Amazing footage but is it only me who see that frame rate stuttering as hell in every shoot from the drone (for example in the intro)?
It's either that your monitor doesn't natively switch to 24P, or your eyes are used to 60P from your other FPV videos ;-)
