2014 FHD dropped when our generation was still really young, but you know it’s a classic when as you’ve matured, you’ve realized the same life lessons Cole came to 10 yrs before you ever did.

It’s crazy to think I was in 10th grade when his first album dropped, people were hating on me listening to Cole, then 2014 FHD came out, and all of a sudden everyone who talked trash were fans.
Anyways the only other rapper I put on Coles level is KRIT

I 100% understand anyone's reasoning for clinging to this album. It's amazing front to back. But 4 Your Eyez Only is a magnum opus. I was a white kid that lived in absolute poverty. Homeless so many times I lost count, changed schools every 3 months, parents writ drug addicts. 4 Your Eyez Only made me realize it's not just me, it's everybody. And their pains are just as deep if not deeper. Thank You Cole, I'm a better man because of you.

every song is perfect for the album. its my favorite album of all time and completely goes under the radar. the shes mine songs just feel like love. change is a unique vibe that is perfect piece of work in its self. immortal and neighbors are the perfect hit songs for this album. deja vu is a bit different from the rest of the album but sound wise fits perfect and is a great song ofc. the intro is great in itself. the outro track is obviously an incredible piece of art and one of the best songs ever imo. and ville mentality is a perfect song to preface it and is an emotional great song as well. the only thing that may be considered a bit eh is foldin clothes lmao. but even still i vibe with it. album is basically perfect. tbh though, i think a song like once an addict would have fit so perfect on here as well, and thats one of my favorite cole songs

damn bro damn near made me shed a tear. i come from an opposite background really i’ve had a structured life but even with this i was constantly losing mental battles with myself, feeling inferior and almost feeling death was the only thing significant i’d ever do. Cole made me realize the same thing you did, we’re all going through it. i always wondered how people could wake up every morning not crippled by anxiety by the uncertainty’s the day would bring. cole made me realize we just do it cause we have to there’s no better reason to look for. everyone’s surviving trying to live, but you gotta learn how to live through trying to survive. much love to you man keep moving and never stop, we all gonna be moving with you❤️

This video spoke to me. Soulr does such a good job at breaking to stuff Down, he really gets what purpose means and can grasp stories that are told. I really feel like a lot of the messages, (Cole’s messages), really relate to what I’ve been going through.
    -I have my demons
-I don’t know where I’m going to be in a few years
-I’ve lost touch of my self worth and my ability to look at others with empathy.
-I may think that I’ve been following my morals, but what does that mean when your morals are wrong? what does it mean when your intentions were wrong in the first place?
-What do you want in life? Do you want to decide take risk on ideal career that may not turn out in the end? Or do you want play it “safe” and invest in an idolized office job that will at least pay the bills from day to day?
-Nobody knows it all, and nobody is all knowing except for God. Who you didn’t put enough time into, and couldn’t ever put enough time into.
-I have an Identity crisis. I spend my days trying to learn more as I dwell on the internet. I want to make my family and parents happy. I aspire to be the ideological student who works his butt off to get where he wants to be. Yet I indulge in bad and unthought habits; At least once a day, I open up UA-cam to see my notifications, if any entertaining videos came out.
-Am I really thankful for the gifts I have been given? Am ignorant of my privilege, do I ever acknowledge it to god?
-I don’t know what person I will fully develop into in the future? Am I going to waste the prime of my lifetime to end up being considered a failure as I ponder on my existence? Or can I seize the opportunity to make a difference by the time I grow older?
-Being on the cusp of a “destined” fate feels very scary and drives pessimism. This negativity can only be bottled with development of confidence. It takes more to be able to release the bottle...
-Right now, as pointless as UA-cam comments may be, I hope I may pushing forward my development as a person, and spreading thought provoking, but open and inspiring message.
Also I’m making this comment is to let out my thoughts and feelings; to let world know my experience.
All the while, in the back of my mind-tryin to experience a sense of approval. 🛎
This sh*t’s messed up, I really had to question myself to identify that my brain still relies on a sense of approval.
Lastly this video really inspires me to give a listen to Forrest Hills Drive. I’m already hype for the off season and the potential of Kendrick releasing his next album this year. So far I feel 2021 has been a good year for music. And interlude is an awesome preview for the greatness we consumers have the grace of listening to. You can not ask for anything more, no matter if Cole’s album goes up or down.

I agree bro wet dreamz is dope. Many rappers be fronting when rapping about sex often they portray themselves as a player but j. Cole keeps it real stateing how nervous he was when he lost his virginity. Many people can relate to this song and that is j. Cole' best skill is being relatable.
