By the way a small washer and o-ring goes with the pilot screw. I see the washer or o-ring fell onto the ground when you were spraying it off after you removed from the can. Not sure if you realized that or not.
I installed a rebuild kit and now it starts fine but the engine dies when the throttle is pressed. I may have gotten the two brass caps with the tiny holes backwards? Would that cause the engine to die when the throttle is pressed?
Check to make sure it's not installed backwards and you might need to adjust the needle for more fuel and air. Also check your throttle linkage connected correctly.

I am not sure, the carb that I rebuilt was an OEM carb.
