1. Join the gym 2. Get comfortable in joining the gym 3. Learn about form and technique 4. Run 3km 5. Get into healthier eating habits (timings, cleaner, moderately)
I really needed to see this! Congratulations Rachel it’s such a huge deal building up your confidence in the gym! This video has motivated me to join the gym myself and to begin my own health journey! I would love to see a video on the foods you are eating too xx
My gym anxiety was very similar to yours - when I first started going, I always had to go with my younger brother bc I was so afraid lol. I also always made a point to go during unstaffed hours bc I thought it would have the least amount of people. Just over year later and I am going on my own, feel mostly comfortable working out with other people around/trying new equipment and I’ve made so much progress physically 😌 proud of you for taking these steps ☺️
This is just what I needed. This has motivated me to begin getting my life together starting next week, especially improving my health and fitness. I am 100% for making this a series 😍
Thank you for sharing your difficulties with joining and ging to the gym. Kind of comforting seeing that other people struggle with seemingly easy tasks as well - and then freaking doing them anyways 💪🏼😊
I recently started trying to get healthier and going to the gym was terrifying. I went with my boyfriend for a while to get comfortable and when I started I barely would do anything but walk on the treadmill because I was so scared of “looking dumb” or not knowing what I was doing. As I introduced myself to the different machines I gained small amounts of confidence, but where I really gained my confidence in going to the gym was when we started using the squat rack/barbell I really started to feel comfortable going to the gym and confident in my progress! Starting slow and working your way up is so helpful, and keeping a good mindset of wanting to be healthier and get gains rather than lose weight was really important in keeping a positive mindset about actually going to the gym and what you’re eating.
I’m two weeks into my own fitness journey and I’m so glad the algorithm brought this video to me because it’s so relatable. The intimidation is real but you just gotta keep showing up at the gym and you’ll learn what to do
I'm 16 and it's been hard for me but for the first time in my life I've been exercising consistently and while I haven't seen a ton of progress, I do feel better and more productive. When I was a kid I would run 5ks and swim. Then I lost my confidence somewhere along the way and just kind of stopped. I work out at home and at first I was nervous about that because my mom has always worked out a ton and I was worried about judgement from my parents and siblings. I've decided that there's nothing embarrassing about effort, even if I can only give so much. Checking off a box in my planner is also super motivating.
I really needed to watch this. I think the whole concept about gyms and health and fitness journey is so much that you have to lift heavy and you have to be a certain way. But you are such an inspiration and so brave for starting and staying consistent. I would love for this to be made into a series, because I would love to keep seeing all the hard work and effort that you put in 💛💛
Hearing about your gym anxiety honestly struck a cord with me. N im now motivated. I'm gonna be going to the gym tomorrow (haven't been in...umm...I don't remember 😅) but having that gym anxiety n seeing you go through that, and now ur smashing it. Makes me wanna just go for it. Definitely baby steps. But as long as I go, that's a win for me ❤😊 thankyou
I would love for you to make this a series! it helps those who are not experts and need some inspiration :)) You should be so proud, you are doing so well!
Yay well done Rachel! You're right, it doesn't matter where you are at in your health and fitness journey; we began somewhere. I've been on a lifestyle change for a few years now and I wanted you to know that I know exactly how you felt joining a gym and not stepping foot in the first few days, not knowing what to do or how to use the equipment. Everyone experiences gym nerves at the beginning and then eventually they find themselves the more they inch closer. It's all apart of the journey: the rise and the falls. And it should be an enjoyable experience, not a daunting one. This is really exciting and I can't wait to see you progress further and further in your journey! Rooting for you Rachel! x
The timing of me finding this video is literally perfect! I’m going back to campus for the first time in over a year, and the idea of using the campus gym is TERRIFYING to me. Seeing you do this just days before I go back makes me feel like I can do this too. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
First of all this I love the honesty and just being so open about having gym anxiety because I am the same way. I go to my apartment gym and it’s very limited. This gives me courage to actually go to the gym that I actually have a membership for!
Loved this video! So nice to see someone filming their journey as a complete novice it made it so much more relatable to me than a lot of the stuff you see on UA-cam. I would love to see the kind of stuff you eat as I think it would be very normal/healthy/balanced (I personally think a healthy diet includes chocolate and takeaways etc.). Would definitely be up for a series if that's what you want to do x
I needed this!! I'm exactly the same! The amount of anxiety I get about the gym and even walking in just puts me off, but I'm not happy with my body of my fitness so i need to overcome. Thankyou for this video x
Thank you Rachel. This will be so inspiring to others towards a healthier lifestyle! Finally someone promoting balance and not restriction is so refreshing!
This is exactly how I feel about the gym! I want to go but I am very scared and nervous about the gym but this has given me some confidence to get a membership for the gym. Love this video so much 💖
You’re doing awesome I’m so proud of you. And thank you for sharing because I am so scared to go to the gym by myself and I don’t know what I’m doing. This helped me more than you know ❤️ keep going girl!
Please do a series!! I relate to this so much I get anxiety about working out in gym I really want to see your fitness journey , it’s very motivating and inspiring x 😌
Yes I have gym anxiety too, I have never been to a gym in my life! 😅 I would love to work on my strength since my job sometimes involve heavy lifting, I don't think I'm bending my knees the right way! Its always that first step thats the scariest but after it gets so much better! 🥰
I think this came at the perfect time for me. I’ve just froze my gym account because I wasn’t going and count to justify paying if I wasn’t going. But now, with the thought of doing a program like yourself and just the way you spoke in this video - I’m so more determined and motivated and can’t wait until the fortnight’s over and my accounts good to go again. Thank you 🥰 keep it up xo
Really loved this!! It’s great to see that I’m not the only one with similar worries about gymming and it’s so cool to see how you started there vs now! Feeling inspired to maybe finally join a gym!!
This was probably the most amazing video I’ve seen of yours Rach, other than the wedding series - my faves, it was so good to see your mind transformation. Our mind is the most powerful and the one thing that holds us back sometimes. I’d love to see this in a series! Xx
Omg!!! I started my health and fitness journey on April 28th too and girl I'm terrified of the gym!!! 😫😫 idk it's just a little intimidating for me .....I've been doing at home workouts and eating healthier and I've lost 15lbs so far!! Which I thought would have been impossible so I'm so proud of myself and I've been having so much fun lol imma keep going and hopefully gain some confidence to actually start a gym by later this year lool 🤞🏽 proud of you girly!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲
Such a really nice genuine video and such a good message that the most important thing is to just start where ever your at. Will definately subscribe to see more videos.
I know how you feel! I was scared to join a gym and spent a few weeks to book a first appointment😂 Your video will definitely help so many people like me thanks Rachel 🙏❤️
Feel excatly like you 3 weeks ago when I first started working out focusing on my diet and consistency. Loved this video 💕 unfortunately because of Covid and because I'm broke 😂 I workout from home, but we are making progress💫 I can't wait to see the rest of your journey and so happy you did this ❤️also a great free program is Caroline s 💫
hey rach what gym shark black leggings were u wearing and what size? I'm wanting to buy some gym shark pieces but i'm unsure what size i should go with. I'm so happy for you that you've made so much progress in going to the gym. proud of u
GAH love love loveeee this video!!!!!! This has been on my mind for THE longest time because I am exactly the same way about gyms! I can feel my fitness is gradually declining, and I stay at home all the time anyway, so after quarantine hit I now get even less movement during the day 🤣 This is really inspiring me to take it one step at a time and to be patient with myself :-)
Great video! It is a great video for someone starting from scratch or starting back up...which is where I am at! Thank you!! I may sign up for a video toddaayyy :)
Absolutely loved this video! 🤍 I joined the gym in February and only just got confident and made a routine recently! Well done Rach x Wish we could be gym buddies! 🙊
I love the fact you are so raw and real! I think this is an issue we all struggle with in our own unique ways! I'd love to continue seeing your journey and keen to see where you progress! I really want to get back to health and fitness and be a healthier version of me and this, this is what I needed!
Amazing Rachel! thank you sooo much for sharing your journey, it is very motivating! do you recommend the basebodybabes program? i currently go to the gym but would like more structure in my workouts.
Promise you no one even looks at you. Most people are focused on their own workouts. If you're unsure of your form maybe get a PT session through your gym so they can show you the exercises and correct form 💛
This helped my confidence a lot. I was born with both my hips dislocated and have had 5 years of corrective surgery. Sadly my hip has not healed properly and a third of my left hip is gone. When I get me new hip I wanna work on going to the gym and changing my life style. Hopefully I will be getting my hip replacement this year
Hi Rachel! Love your vlogs! 💛 Do you happen to have any advice for a small Christian vlog channel struggling to grow? I’m thorough, consistent, and creative, but the numbers just won’t move. How did you do it? Any advice would be so welcome. ☺️ No worries if not! Thanks for reading!
1. Join the gym
2. Get comfortable in joining the gym
3. Learn about form and technique
4. Run 3km
5. Get into healthier eating habits (timings, cleaner, moderately)
I say make it a series!! It will make it easier to search for the viewers!

Your humility absolutely amazes me! Very excited for you and your journey.

Do most gyms not make you a program
