I actually watched a Hong Kong movie called “Love Undercover” and a male character sings the song in one scene, and that’s what attracted me to the song. You should check it out. Yet, I started to realize that the song was mainly sang by female artists. What you say makes a lot of sense.

this song (from what i gather through translation) is about how beautiful his home looks under the crescent moon. and how beautiful a girl is as well. the tragic thing is the man singing is blind, as is our main character. it’s almost like it alludes to a peace our hero will never know.
