Legacy will always be my favorite format, and this channel's priority! On the other hand, I'm having fun building new dredge decks in Modern, too. Coliseum gives the deck that "Legacy feeling" that I enjoy!
This is cool! I'm curious: why do you split your bounce spells the way you do? I would have thought Chain of Vapor was just better than Stern Dismissal, since Stern doesn't answer Grafdigger's Cage?
I don’t want to speak for him, but I think it’s playing around cards like Surgical Extraction (same general reason it’s one of each blue fetch instead of a playset - playing around cards with effects like Pithing Needle) so if they hit one, you’re not completely screwed.
I'm basically playing around Surgical, but I'm also adding some range against Urza's Saga decks. Bouncing a Saga before your opponent has value from it / searches for hate is a huge tempo play.
With the basic mountain in the SB, could the utility of switching all of your fetches to Scalding tarn (to get both basic mountain and basic island) be more worth it than hedging your bets against pithing needle style effects?
Yes, that's right. The mountain in the sideboard was a last-minute adjustment before starting the league, and if it stays, it's better to have 4 Scalding Tarn in the main deck.
I discuss this in the introduction of the video. Blue Dredge builds, including those with the Satoru/Oracle combo, have lost some ground due to Vexing Bauble. I'm currently working on a competitive new Blue Dredge build, which will be featured here soon.
I get not wanting to reanimate Duskana when Dread Return is bad against Vexing Bauble, but I don't get playing Dread Return anyway. Kinda feels like the worst of both worlds at that point.
Even vs. Bauble, Dread Return can easily create 6 or more zombies, sometimes with haste. Against Bauble decks, we can trim 1 or 2 copies accordingly. Having DR in the main also free some space in the sideboard.
Another thing is that he isn't running any creatures specifically for dread return, he has only threats that are already in the deck that he can target with dread return. Duskana only works with dread return so it is just a dead slot against vexing bauble when everything else still are relevant including the dread return itself.

Are you just trying various things or did you run into issues with the Saturo + Thassa's Oracle build?

Great!!! Sideboard guide for patreon?
Yes!! I'll upload the updated sideboard guide for this deck tomorrow on Patreon, including some new ideas that I'll test next week.

I was really hoping for an anger reprint in mh3 didnt happen might have to move to legacy to pound salt into my oppents wounds.
Legacy is great and will be even better next month when (hopefully) some bans occur.
